Doctrinal Statement
There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4;
Matt. 5:48; Matt. 28:19).
Jesus Christ is true God and true man (Phil. 2:6-11). He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and bom of the Virgin Mary
(Lk. 1:36-38). He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust (I Pet. 3:18), as a substitutionary sacrifice (Heb. 2:9), and
all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (Rom. 5:9). He arose 打om the dead according to
the Scriptures (Ac. 2:23-24). He is now at the right had of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest (Heb. 8:1). He
will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace (Matt. 26:64).
The Holy Spirit is a divine person (Jn. 14:15-18), sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer (Jn. 16:13; Ac. 1:8),
and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment (Jn. 16:7-11).
The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation
of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice (II Pet. 1:20-
21, II Tim. 3:15-16).
Men was originally created in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1:27): he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby
both physical and spiritual death. All men are bom with a sinful nature (Rom. 3:23), are separated from the life of God,
and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ (I Cor. 15:20-23). The portion of the impenitent
and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment (Rev. 21:8); and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and
bliss (Rev. 21:1-4).
Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again
of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God (Tit. 3:4-7).
It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly (I Thess. 5:23), being
separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and
effective service (Ac. 1:8). This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer
subsequent to conversion (Rom 6:1-14).
Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body (Matt. 8:16-17).
Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the Church in this present
age (James 5:13-16).
The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are bom
again of the Holy Spirit Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church (Eph. 1:22-23), which has been commissioned by
Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations (Matt. 28:19-20).
The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through
the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism
and the Lord's Supper (Ac. 2:41-47).
There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life (I Cor. 15:20-23);
for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment (Jn. 5:28-29).
The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent (Heb. 10:37) and will be personal, visible, and premillenial (Lk.
21:27). This is the believer's blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service (Tit.
2:11-14).

Ministry
Bethel pastoral ministry is a ministry to people to help reaching effectively and
teach people with the Word of God. A pastor needs to be called of God to this
work as well as being a person of vision, burden, spiritual depth, initiative, and
faithfulness. Good ethics and honesty are needed in putting in the full amount
of time, careful use of funds in accord with policies. A servant's heart is a vital
necessity to respond to the needs and opportunities in department, not as a
burden, but an opportunity to minister. Such motivation needs to come from a
sincere love for the Lord and a desire to be used of Him in reaching people with
gospel.
1. Training and Service
a. Conduct mini-teacher training for Sunday school teachers on a
departmental basis.
b. Must participated in the Bethel Fall Teachers* Conference and
the Mid-year Teacher's Conference (during winter time).
c. Meet with bujang and teachers for encouragement, information,
problem solving and planning.
d. Plan and conduct lesson preparation classes for teachers (e.g.
every week, once a month, etc.)
e. Plan and conduct retreats and short-term mission projects.
f. Speak for Sunday worship service, Friday night meeting, PTA
meetings, etc. as requested. This is only for the head pastor of
each department, unless otherwise notified.
g. Evaluate departmental activities and events as well as Bible
study groups to help them improve.
2. Events and Activities

Students Outings - outings must done by the grade and
one of the pastors must be accompanied.
b. Handle the budgeting, financial accounting and care of funds
for events and activities.
c. Fill out activity or Event form at the end of each event and
activities in purpose of evaluation.
3. Responsibility to Education Department
a. The following reports are due at Education Department by end
of each event and activities and meetings: Activity Report,
Meeting Minute, Financial Report and Requests.
b. Requests for vacation, seminar leading, seminar attending,
speaking engagements must be made by at least 4 weeks in
advance. If a pastor who has not confer with Director of C. E.
before-hand and made reservation for whatever cause, it shall
not granted at all time.
c. Full time pastor ought to be attending Tuesday morning and
Friday morning staff meetings. However, part-time and intern
pastors are only required to be at Friday morning meeting.
d. Full time pastors are required to fill out the weekly ministerial
report.
e. Adhere, to the best of his ability, to Bethel Education Depart
ment policy and procedures in his ministry.
f. One week each year is allowed to be used for vacation that
including Sunday and only one Bible Conference or evangelical
meeting or retreat (some cases maybe two in a year). Such
absences need advance approval of the Director of Christian
Education and cannot adversely affect the Bethel Education
ministry. Part-time pastors and interns are not qualified on this
policy.

Salary & Benefit
1. Salary - Salaries for all pastoral staffs will be established by the
session of Bethel Korean Church at the time of acceptance. Salary
checks are issued last Sunday of each month. Housing is non-taxable
items for income tax and is issued 2nd Sunday. However, those who
have not yet ordained will not have housing allowance. And also part-
time pastors and interns are not applicable. The salary level is reviewed
annually by the Session of Bethel Korean Church.
2. Insurance - Hospitalization insurance and dental are available through
Bethel Korean Church. There are $1,000.00 deductible in each pastors
insurance. However, the church grant $500.00 of $1,000.00 deductible.
This can be paid directly to a doctor's office.
3. Vacations - After one year of service with Bethel, one week of family
or personal vacation are allowed. The dates are to be approved by
the Director of Christian Education and the Administrator. After five
years of service, two weeks vacation is allowed. Vacation bonus will
be given out to each pastor prior to his vacation. However, each pastor
ought to request his bonus at least two weeks prior to his vacation.
4. Conferences and Seminars - Pastor may attend Bible Conferences
and seminars, however, dates, places and people are to be approved
by the DCE and the Session.
5. Speaking Engagements - Pastor may lead a conference or a seminar
per year including Sunday. And two other engagements without missing
Sunday. Again, the dates and the places are to be approved by the
DCE.

Nursery Ministry Coordinator Job Description
General Description: The nursery ministry coordinator will have primary responsibilities for
the entire nursery ministry at BKC(birth through 2 years), providing leadership and working with
and through lay leaders to enable BKC to fulfill its statement of purpose in nursery ministries.
(BKC is a welcoming community, eager to glorify God by making disciples, strengthening
families and enjoying God together).
Necessary Attitudes and Approaches to Ministry:
• Willingness to be a part of a ministry team is critical. BKC has an exciting climate of unity
and genuine love that is modeled by the elders and the by the ministry staff. While being a
self-starter, a self-motivated worker and a creative thinker are greatly valued, an eagerness
to be part of a team that values loyalty and working together is very important.
• Issues of philosophy of ministry and vision are fundamental to the life of BKC. Any
ministry staff or leader at BKC will be committed to BKC's philosophy of ministry, including
such things as outreach orientation, sensitivity to the "nominally-churched", the mobilization
of lay leaders and ministers, a fundamental small group orientation, and celebratory and
creative worship.
• Strong relational skills and an ability to communicate with children of all ages as well as
adults.
• Proven ability to work with both men and women in church ministry and leadership roles.

Oversight of All Nursery* s Classes: Ministries are expanding rapidly at BKC. Our desire is
to continually mobilize, train and involve lay people in ministry, and to give them great
responsibility for their ministries. Because of a commitment to decentralized ministry, excellent
management by ministry staff is needed. The coordinator of nursery ministries will be
responsible for overseeing all aspects of its department, including establishing and supervision
of budgets, recruiting, coordination of the entire department, and training and evaluation of
those in ministry.
Ministry Development: BKC is eager to develop new ministries that respond both to
needs within our church family and to reach out to new people. It is expected that the
coordinator of nursery ministries will work closely with other ministry staff to develop
ministries Sunday as well as Friday night
Leadership Development: All ministry staff at BKC are expected to be actively working
to develop future leaders. The coordinator of nursery ministries needs to be creatively
and consistently identifying and training men and women for leadership roles in the
church.
Training and Education: Graduate-level courses in Christian Education and children's
ministries are desired, along with experience in coordinating nursery ministries.
Special Ministry Responsibility: Current ministries for which the Nursery Ministry
Coordinator is directly responsible are the following: Children's Sunday School and
Children's Church, VBS, Friday night Cubbies Clubs, all nursery programs. Ministries
that are to be coordinated with the Nursery Ministry Coordinator are following: all BKC
events with a children's orientation, family ministry. Ministries that represent future
directions might be: summer Bible club program for children, nursery program that
support and coincide with non-Sunday morning worship services, a program like
Cubbies Clubs, family night program, etc.
Current Needs For Children's Ministry at BKC: Because of our rapid growth, there is a
need for leadership development, for mobilizing and training more ministers in nursery
ministries, for coordination and management of an expanding ministry in limited
facilities, and for leading BKC in creative and effective directions in nursery ministries.

남가주 사랑의 교회 유치부는 영감 있는 뿌리교육을 통하여 어릴 때부터 하나님의 천국
인재로서 자라나도록 교육하는 것을 그 목표로 삼는다. 구체적 교육 목표는 아래와 같다.
1)알씀 사역: 철저하고 책임 있는 말씀교육을 통해서 어린이가 참된 신앙 인으로 자라도록

는 매월 정기적인 모임을 갖고 분반공부롤 보다 효과적으로 가르칠 수 있도록 학습내용과
활동을 계획, 심의하고 조정한다. 그리고 결정된 안건은 전체교사회의에 상정하여 결의를
받아 시행하도록 한다(97년도 중점사역).
b. 교사교육강화: 교육부에서 진행하는 세미나와 프로그램에 적극적으로 참여할 뿐 아니라,
부서 자체의 교사들을 위한 “효과적 소그룹 운영을 위한 Seminar”률 년 2회 진행하여, 교
사들의 말씀사역올 함양한다.

LEAdERship DeveIopment: All ministry staff at BKC are expected to be actively working
to develop future leaders. The director of college ministries needs to be creatively and
consistently identifying and training men and women for leadership roles in the church.
TRAlNiNq ANd EducATloN: Graduate-level courses in Christian Theological Education and
college student's ministries are desired, along with experience in coordinating each
campus ministries (University of Cal. Irvine, Irvine Valley College and other local
colleges).
SpEdAl Ministry RespoNSlbiliiy: Current ministries for which the College Ministry is
directly responsible are the following: Preaching and teaching during Sunday Worship
Service, Wednesday Night service (English speaking college group), and Friday Night
Service (Korean speaking college group), training the student leaderships (make
disciple leadership), supervising and coordinating Saturday morning student leadership
meeting (English and Korean combined). Ministries that are to be coordinated with the
College Ministry Director are following: all BKC events with a college students*
orientation. Ministries that represent future directions might be: development of campus
ministries in the local universities and colleges, short-term summer mission program
(China, Mexico, and other areas), summer and winter retreats, the Hearts on Fire
(college revival meeting), and etc.
Current Needs For ColleqE Ministry at BKC: Because of our rapid growth, there is a
need for leadership development, for mobilizing and training more college students
leaderships, for coordination and management of an expanding ministry in limited
facilities, and for leading BKC in creative and effective directions in College ministries.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
WE BELIEVE THAT HOLY SCRIPTURES (Old Testament and New
Testament) are the Word of God. The Bible is the only inerrant and infallible
Book that was inspired by the Holy Spirit (1 Tim. 3:16). We also believe
that the Bible teaches clear purpose and direction of life for the children of
God.
WE BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD,and all men must worship
only Him alone. We also believe that there is three persons in the Godhead:
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. He is triune Godz one in
trinity, and equal in power, wisdom, and gloryjPhil 2:6).
III. WE BELIEVE THE SOVEREIGN LORDSHIP OF GOD (Exodus 3:14)
Our God is sovereign in His authority, control, and presence.
A. Authority
God holds absolute authority over His creation. Thus, all men, creatures are
subjected to God’s absolute authority. God requires all men to be obedient
to His authority in all humility.
B. Control
God is perfect control over His creation and nothing happens outside of His
will. He rules over human and redemptive history (Is. 43:10, Ex. 3:20).
C. Presence
He enters into a relationship with His people according to His sovereign
Love and Covenant of Grace. He promised His people that He will be with
them forever, in any situation, time, and place(Ex.2:24).
IV. WE BELIEVE GOD*S LORDSHIP OVER SALVATION
Salvation is the result of God's decision, plan, and works alone.
A. Total Depravity of Men
All human beings are affected by sin in every area of thought and conduct so
that nothing that comes out of anyone apart from the regenerating grace of
God can please God, "There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none
who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned
aside; they have together become unprofitable; There is none who does
good, no, notone"(Rom. 3:10-12).
As far as our relationship to God are concerned, we are all so ruined by sin
that no one can properly understand either God or God's ways. Nor do we
seek God, unless He is first at work within us to lead us to do so.
B. Unconditional Election
God predestined those that are His even before the foundation of the world,
"For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and
blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons
through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will." (Eph. 1 :4-
5). Thus, He predestined His people based on His unconditional love and
mercy but not based on any condition of man.
C. Particular Atonment
"Christ, the Son of God, the second person in the Trinity, being very and
eternal God. Who once took upon man's nattire, so that two whole perfect,
and distinct natures, the Godhead and the manhood, were inseparably joined
together in one person. Which person is very God and very man, yet one
Christ, the only Mediator between God and man. By His perfect obedience
and sacrifice of "once for all", had fully satisfied the justice of His Father,
and purchased not only reconciliation, but an everlasting inheritance in the
kingdom of heaven, for all those whom Father had given 니nto Him." (W.C.
Chap. 8:2,5)
Christ died for His people. Salvation is the fulfillment of God's covenant
and God made His covenant particularly with His people. His elected ones.
D. Irresistible Grace
The Spirit of God is the one who enables us to understand who Jesus Christ
is and to receive God's grace. When God works in our hearts, regenerating
us and creating a renewed will within, then what was undesirable before
becomes highly desirable, and we run to Jesus just as previously we ran away
from Him. Fallen sinners do resist God's grace, but His regenerating grace is
effectual. It overcomes sin and accoplishes God’s purpose.
Perseverence of Saints
God's people will not be separated from His love forever(Rom. 8:35-39).
God’s absolute love and power and wisdom will secure our salvation.

The Education Co_ittee fund is froa church aenbers' offering
and donation. The money was given to God and it belongs to bin.
We need to handle it with the attitude of a faithful steward.
Many of our church aeabers, specially due to the recent
recession during past couple of years, are struggling to
provide even basic necessities for their faaily. In the Bidst
of their hardship, however, they give offerings and donations
to support church's sinistries. Understanding the value of
th©ir offerings, we cannot waste any portion of our fund. Each
cent of it represents our aeabers' love and dedication..
Therefore, all the Education Comittee personnel are expected
to plan and use the ooney wisely. Also, we need to save aoney
so 寶g can use sore of it on things like supporting flissionaries
paying off our debts.
For these reasons, the spending of the Education ComniUee fund
will be United to absolute necessities only. Renember once
again, we aust be good stewards of God's ■oney. Your
understanding is appreciated and best effort is expected.
1. Budget Requesting Procedure
Expense for an event or aaterial sust be requested according to
the pre-approved annual budget.
The JDSs ftust fill out the request fora and turn it in to the
departaent's treasurer at least 2 weeks before the
■oney is to be paid.
The treasurer will get the Elder's approval and turn it in to
the Education Coaaittee treasurer.
2. 획계 규정

교육위원立1 주일에배 지접서 (cs Worship Guidelines)
I. 예배란? (What is worship?)
예배란 단어는 영어의 “영광”과 "가치”의 뜻을 포함하고 있다. 진정한 예배는 하나님의
경배 받을 가치를 인정할 뿐 아니라 그것을 즐거워한다. 예배에 가장 관련된 히브리어의 단어는
"절을 하다. 존경을 하다”의 의미이다 (창세기 18:2). 예배를 가장 잘 나타내는 헬라어의 내용은
“경외를 나타내다” “하나님께 절을 하다” 이다 (요한 복음 4:21-24). 예배는 우리의 마음 자세뿐만
아니라 우리의 행위를 포함한다. 예배는 경외와 경배의 자세와 겸손으로 홀로 예배 받으시기에
합당한 하나님에게 드리는 행위이다.“
The word "worship" comes from an old English word that contains the ideas of
honor and worth. True worship not only recognizes the worthiness of God and but also
rejoices it. The Hebrew word used most often in reference to worship means "to bow down,
to do homage" (Gen. 18-2). The most prominent Greek tenn for worship conveys the idea of
"showing reverence" or "bowing down to God" (John 4*21-24). Worship involves both our
attitude and our action. Worship is the attitude of reverence and adorations, as well as the
action of humble, loving service to God, who alone is worthy.
II. 예배에 대한 마음 자세? (Attitudes toward Worship)
주일에 교회를 오기 전 전도사,부장,부감,교사들은,먼저 예배에 대한 올바른 자세를
가지고 참석하기 바랍니다. 그리고 학생들이 예배에 대한 올바른 자세를 가지고 예배를 드릴 수
있도록 가르치고 훈련하시기를 바랍니다. (Department pastor, director deacon, assistant
director deacon, and all the teachers should have a proper heart for worship before leaving
their home. And teach and train students to worship with genuine heart and proper attitude.)

서 그날 예배를 위해서 함께 기도하기를 바랍니다. 다음의 내용들을 빠뜨리지 말고 기도하여 예
배가 다이내믹하게 될 수 있도록 기대하기를 바랍니다. (All teachers should be at the worship
place before 15 minutes of worship time. As gathering, pray for the worship. Pray with
following lists for dynamic worship time)

• 예배전 10전에 올 것. (Come 10 minutes before the beginning of worship)
• 항상 얼굴에 미소를 하고 예배 드리러 오는 학생들에게 "환영합니다”“좋은 예배를 드

awesome worship/'
• 주보를 가지고 하나씩 나누어 줄 것. (Hand out a bulletin to each student.)
VI. 사회자 지침 (Presider’s Guideline)
• 사회자는 영적으로 성령 충만하고 성숙한 교사만 할 것.(전도사, 부장님이 결정할 것)
(Only Spirit-filled and mature teachers can be a presider. Dept, pastor and director
deacon have a right to choose presiders.)
• 집에서 기도로 준비하고 올 것.(Pray at home before coming to the church.)
• 옷은 정장올 할 것.(Dress up decently.)
• 예배 초청하는 성경구절 준비. - 전도사들이 정해서 줄 것.
(Prepare a passage of Scripture for Call to Meditation. Dept, pastor can decide
passages)
• 얼굴은 항상 미소를 할 것.(Fill your face with lots of smiles.)
• 설교 성경구절 정확하게 읽을 것. (학생들과 함께 한 구절 돌아가면서 읽을 것)

VII. 대표기도 지침 (Prayers Guideline)
• 대표기도자는 각부 전도사 및 부장들이 결정 할 것.
(Dept, pastor and director deacon determine persons of prayer.)
• 기도는 항상 써서 올 것. (중언방언 하는 것을 방지하기 위해서) 준비된 기도를 위해서
(Always write down prayer in order to prevent from mumbling.)
• 기도의 길이는 최고 1 분 30초이다.
(Maximum length of prayer is one minute and 30 seconds.)
• 기도의 내용은 다움과 같이 할 것 (Include after following contents.)

VIII. 헌금위원 지침 (Offering Usher Guideline)
• 학생들로 하여금 참석할 수 있도록 권유.
(Encourage students to serve as ushers.)
• 헌금 위원은 충분히 할 것 - 예배 시간올 절약하기 위해서 그렇다고 서둘 필요는 없음
(Appoint enough ushers to save wasted worship times.)
• 헌금 위원은 기도로 마음을 준비하고 올 것.
(Prepare with prayer before coming.)
• 깨끗한 옷을 입고 올 것.
(Dress decently.)
• 항상 앞자리에 앉도록 할 것.
(Sit at the front row.)
• 헌금 Basket올 들 때는 두손으로 양쪽 side를 들 것.
(Hold offering basket with two hands.)
• 헌금이 끝나며 자연스럽게 줄을 서서 앞쪽으로 나가서 헌금 기도가 끝날 때까지 정중
하게 서 있으며 기도가 끝나면 자연스럽게 자리에 들어갈 것.
(After offering, walk to the front and stand there until prayer is over. Then, return
to his/her seats.)
IX. 교사들 예 배 지침 (Teacher's Guideline for worship)
• 대예배를 꼭 참석하여 먼저 은혜를 받을 것.
(Attend on Main Adult worship and experience the grace of God.)
• 항상 집에서 기도를 하고 주일 예배 드리러 올 것.
(Always pray before coming to worship.)
• 각부 주일예배 적어도 15분전에 와서 주일 예배를 위해서 기도하고, 전도사, 부장, 부감
과 함께 예배드릴 장소에서 기도를 할 것
(Come 15 minutes before the worship and pray with other teachers, director
deacon, assistant director, dept, pastor.)
• 복장은 절대로 청바지는 금물이며 정장을 하지 않더라도 깨끗하게 입고 올 것.
(Jean is not allowed. Dress decently.)
• 예배 때는 절대로 뒤에 앉지 말고 학생들과 함께 섞여서 예배를 드릴 것.
(Please do not sit at back rows, but sit with students.)
• 예배시 잡담 금물이며, 떠드는 학생들은 잘 Control할 것.
(Don't talk in the middle of worship, and control noisy students.)
• 예배를 드리면서 기도를 할 것.
