So one day my mom, dad, and I went to supermarket and shop for the usual necessities needed at home. While we were searching around the supermarket, I caught a glimpse of a “Toy Story” book for kids. My parents decided to get it for me, and I started reading it while we were walking. My mom slowly separated from my dad, and went to the fruits section, while my dad went to the pastry section. Each of them though that I was with the other parent, but in reality I was reading my book and separated from both of them. I was found after ten minutes at the meeting point we had agreed on before we entered the supermarket; however that was a frightening experience that I will never forget. A letter to the editor of a newspaper To, May 15, 2021 The Editor, The Himalayan Times, Kathmandu Dear Sir, Will you please kindly give a little place to my letter in your esteemed and highly popular paper? I write to you to put forward the difficulties which the public have to bear due to frequent breakdown of water supply in Adarshnagar - 13. We are in a very difficult situation. The rainy season has come. The rivers are full of water. So, there is no problem of electricity. I fail to understand the cause of the frequent breakdown of water supply. We have not got even a single drop of water for the last two days. No one knows the difficulties we have faced these days. In my opinion, the breakdown is due to the inefficient working of the Water Supply Department. Will you very kindly publish my letter in your paper so that the higher authorities may come to know of it and warn those who are responsible for it? Yours sincerely, Kapil Exercise for practice 1. 240 Oasis Applied Grammar and Composition - 10 1. A letter to editor of a newspaper complaining about reckless driving. Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, February 22, 2023 The Editor, The Republica, Kathmandu Dear Sir/Madam Motor car accidents are on the rise in our city these days. Every day one reads in the paper about people being run over by cars or hit by motorcycles. They are either being killed or seriously injured. This is most depressing. It was only yesterday that I saw an old lady trying to cross the road and escape narrowly from being run over by a speeding car. It must have been running at a speed of 60 km/hours. Such reckless driving in the city is a hazard. It causes fatal accidents to pedestrians trying to cross the road. Although there are speed limits, drivers do not seem to care and the traffic authorities are not strict in enforcing the regulation. What is the use of rule if is not enforced or followed? I hope your newspaper will publish this letter and raise public awareness to the hazards of reckless driving. Every one must work together to put pressure on traffic police and authorities to check reckless driving and make roads safe for the people. Yours sincerely, Nima Angdambe 2. Letter to the editor of a newspaper about the load shedding which is a problem for the country. January. 25, 2022 To The Editor, The Rising Nepal, Kathmandu Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to draw the attention of Nepal Electricity Authority towards the problem of load shedding through your reputed newspaper. This has created a lot of problems in our country. Being the second richest country of the world after Brazil in of water resources, our country is unable to produce electricity in proportion to its demand due to the lack of foresight of the former and the present government. The factories are closed one after another. The future of students is jeopardised because they don't have electricity to continue their study at night. This problem is more dangerous for the S.L.C students. Workers can't handle their work skillfully. Hospitals face problems in handling serious patients. Unless a thoughtful action is taken to overcome this problem, the economy of our country will move from bad to worse. So, our government
