Three Ms. Shirley C. Tarala gave her heartening closing remarks. Being a teacher, we should
consider our co-teachers and other personnel in achieving the goals of education. They must
be treated with courtesy, consideration, and mutual respect. We should also be punctual in the
submission of office reports and other tasks to facilitate the completion of the work by the
support personnel.

Learning Action Cell

Topic: Code of Ethics of
Teachers

RES E-Classroom

RIZAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – Campaign on Project W.A.T.C.H.

Once upon a time, there was a teacher who wanted nothing but to teach the world to become
a better place. In her journey she encounters realities that struck her to her core. Luckily, she wouldn’t
have to wonder aimlessly how to overcome these adversities. She was aided by the code of ethics.

On a sunny morning of June 15, 2022, at RES’s e-classroom, the grade four team had
their Learning Action Cell. The topic was about the code of ethics for public school teachers. The
following paragraphs narrate the proceedings of that day.

Mrs. Shelly Tahum, was the master of ceremony that introduced the participants of
that morning preliminary activities. The singing of the national anthem was conducted by Mrs. Nenita
Estillore that was followed by a solemn prayer from Mr. Fernandez. Mrs. Jenny Ducusin headed the
group in the oath of “Kawani ng Gobyerno.” Mrs. Solero rendered her expertise in an elaborate speech
about determination for the thought of the day. Mrs. San Felipe addressed the crowd by welcoming
everyone in this ambience of learning the ethics for teachers. Mrs. Renalyn Rico, then made the
privilege to introduce the speakers of the forum, all who are the current master teacher consultants
of the grade.

First to render his expert opinion and knowledge was Mr. Marvin Olaso. With his
brilliance and wit, he masterfully captured his audience’s attention. He tackled the complex topic of
article 1, 2 and 3 which are the scope and limitation, the teacher, and the state lastly the teacher and
the community. He cited well thought explanations and citations that really pointed the importance
of this article.

Next was Mrs. Ma. Liza San Felipe and her topic was about Article 4 to 6. Her brilliance
in her ability to whip up funny skits that are relatable to the topic at hand was very useful in sustaining
the interest of the listeners. Definitely, not a dull moment was present in the room.

The last speaker was Mrs. Norina Allera. A strong force to be reckoned, she talked
about articles 7 -12. She cited true to life moments that served as either inspiration or warning. She
stunned the crowd with her impeccable authority in front of the stage. A life changing discussion was
experienced by the crowd on that faithful day.

A surprise visit was given by the mother of the school, Mrs. Corazon Caculitan. In that
moment. She harnessed the energy and vibe engulfing the participants to discuss one step further the
importance of these ethics.

At the end of the day a fruitful venture was traversed by the grade four family that
should remain in the history books for all to share a lifetime of memories.

LEARNING ACTION CELL
“REVISITING CODE OF ETHICS”

GRADE FIVE

Each teacher, upon entering the teaching profession, assumes a number of
obligations, one of which is to adhere to a set of principles that defines professional
conduct. These principles are reflected in the following code of ethics, which sets forth
to the education profession and the public it serves standards of professional conduct
and procedures for implementation.

The Grade Five teachers strongly support all programs and activities that help
the teachers to create professional learning communities that will help teachers to
have a wider scope of teaching content and methodologies. Thirty-one teachers from
Grade 5 level of Rizal Elementary School participated the Learning Action Cell headed
by the three brilliant master teacher consultants: Mrs. Gremicilla D. Roque, Mr. Paul
Nylden A. Carable and Mr. Josil M. Cabulao as the speakers of the session at the
Audio Visual Room last May 25, 2022.

The LAC session conducted was a very good refresher for us teachers, who are
already in the service for a couple of years. It gave us valuable insights. It made us
realize that humans as we are, we tend to become lax as years pass by thinking that
we are already experts in the field. However, this mentality must be changed. We must
not forget that teachers hold a great responsibility to the school, to the community, and
even to the profession itself.

The code of ethics for teachers puts a premium on ensuring quality education
to all Filipino learners. This implies that we must upgrade ourselves by pursuing further
studies to improve efficiency and strengthen competence.

The code of ethics has given us the desire to become a better and more efficient
teacher who always keeps in mind that we all are agents in building a good nation.
