DepEd implement the program Project W.A.T.C.H. (We Advocate Time
Consciousness and Honesty) to strengthen the value of punctuality and honesty.
It highlighted the significance of this advocacy in inculcating the learners with
proper values which promote self-respect and respect for other people’s time.
Project WATCH aims to undertake effective programs, projects, and other
activities to enhance the importance of punctuality and honesty as elements of
success in our daily lives.

Last March 25, 2022 the Grade Three teachers conducted their lesson
about the Project W.A.T.C.H. In this lesson, the teachers discuss the importance
of being on time and respecting the time of others, as well as passing tasks on
time. They also discussed honesty and punctuality are virtues that should be
learned by Filipinos. They also instilled that good values give a child the best
possible start in life. The concept of being punctuality or right on time and being
honest are no doubt basic values that we should recognize, and that we should
all instill in the minds of our learners the importance of being honest and time-
conscious in this time of pandemic is one of the vital traits we need to keep and
improve in our lives.

Time very few know how to keep up with it and use it efficiently. They know it well
that time doesn't wait and that we must keep pace with it. This comprehension leads
them to accomplish big things in life. The rest, with laid back attitude who just don't
sense the ticking of the clock can't help but regret all their life.
Time plays a significant role in our life. It is as precious as money is to us. We never
waste money. Likewise, we shouldn't waste time in any way. Remember, time can
create an enormous impact on your life. It can make your life blissful or can turn it into
a disaster and you wouldn't even realize. It is absolutely true that, if a person does not
understand the importance of time, then time also does not understand the
importance of that person. If we destroy our time, time will destroy us very badly. It is
true that, "Time never waits for anyone." At one time, time gives only one chance, if we
lose it once, then it can never be returned. You don't want to regret in the latter part
of your life. So understand its importance and utilize it wisely.

The Three E. Jacinto pupils listen attentively while the teacher explain that time

The program aims to develop pupils’ time consciousness and synchronization of
each schedule and the value of honesty. It is a significant campaign for core development
of individuals. Honesty implies being truthful and develop the practice of telling the truth.
An honest individual always follows rules and regulations, maintain discipline, speak the
truth and is punctual.

In relation to this advocacy the Grade Four teachers and pupils participated and
watched the video on Time consciousness and adopt and implement Project W.A.T.C.H.
(We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty) to strengthen the value of punctuality
and honesty as a significant step in bringing about fundamental change or transformation
of pupils and eventually the society

Advocacy for time consciousness and honesty is a significant campaign of our
school and the entire division. If everyone is punctual and honest there will be a
concomitant valuing for self -respect and for respecting others’ time. These values cannot
be taught but they can be caught by simply modeling the practice and making it a habit.
Awareness of the benefits we can derive from being a WATCH implementer is basically
the end goal in establishing a WATCH School.

Based on the published article of DOST, Filipino time” originally describes the
Filipinos' penchant for starting, or arriving at, events some 15 to 30 minutes later than
the set time. It has become a notorious habit that, unknown to many, pulls back the
country in terms of lost productivity. The Program W.A.T.C.H. is a great way to break
away in the notorious habit of all Filipino, especially our students in Rizal Elementary
School. The adviser of Grade 4 Maunawain pupils explained the rationale of the Project
W.A.T.C.H and how we can begin being conscious in our time and be honest at the
same time.

Punctuality and honesty are more than just values; they are building blocks of good governance. Both
define the success of any undertakings by personal or by community who shared the same aspirations
and goals. Categorically, as the adage says “Time is Gold” to denote how punctuality and wise utilization
of time affect efficiency and success and honesty pinned it as commitment to oneself to do the desirable
and expected tasks even unsupervised.

The DepED Memorandum Nos. 160 and 387 both series of 2008 announced that the DepED
community will adopt and implement Project W.A.T.C.H. (We Advocate Time Consciousness and
Honesty) to strengthen the value of punctuality and honesty as a significant step in bringing about
fundamental change or transformation of society.

Rizal Elementary School strongly supports all projects and activities of the Department of
Education that help the teachers and students to push forward the recognition of punctuality and honesty
as two core values in promoting national renewal and development.

The Grade Five Teachers conducted the kick-off orientation for the said program to their advisory
class. The adviser presented the necessary information during the online session and the learners
understood the objectives of the endeavor and relevance of it.

The advocacy for time consciousness and honesty is a significant campaign for core development
of individuals. If everyone is punctual and honest there will be a concomitant valuing for self-respect and
for respecting others' time.

Strengthening the values of punctuality and honesty boosts a person's integrity and contribute in
one's successes. We must complement our academic achievements with these virtues for us to be truly
successful in life.
