RIZAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Campaign on Project W.A.T.C.H.

There is really a huge potential and power of the story telling contest to our learners.
Story telling helps to develop creative and critical thinking among them. Furthermore, it helps
the pupils to create his or her own knowledge. As such, we the Grade One teachers conducted
a story telling contest in line with the program Project WATCH. It aims to inculcate in the hearts
and minds of our young learners the value of Honesty and Time Consciousness. The Grade
One Teachers in action as they conduct the Story Telling Contest. To formalize the said contest,
we had a program attended by the participants, parents and of course our diligent judges.

The day has come to witness the pupils as they showcase their talents and
expertise in storytelling. Proud parents were so grateful that amidst the situation still
their kids were given a chance to participate in such activities and of course they
really don’t want to miss this big event in the life of their children. Good luck kids and
continue to soar high.

To evoke the sense of love for one's home country, the program started with the singing
of the nationalistic song entitled’ Ang Bayan”. After which, followed by a prayer to strengthen
one’s faith in God and thanked Him for all the blessings He has bestowed upon. Most especially,
to ask His presence and guidance for the success of the program. And to welcome all the Grade
One participants together with their ever-supportive parents, Mrs. Marilyn Castro gave her
opening remarks.

As being stated in the Project W.A.T.C.H. plan, Rizal Elementary School must conduct various

which was designated to be carried out by Grade 2. This activity was started by disseminating the poem
to the participants for them to have an ample time to memorize the piece and instructed them to take
a video of themselves reciting the poem and hand it in to their corresponding advisers.

On Wednesday June 1st, the contest proper was held and participated by twenty-one grade two

Theme: “Working Towards a Culture of Integrity through Honesty and Time”

The RES project W.A.T.C.H. primarily aims to strengthen the value of punctuality and
honesty. It also aspires to contribute and to support the moral renewal program focused on the
actualization of the value of honesty and time consciousness.

In line with the program, last June 3, 2022, Rizal Elementary School, conducted an
“Essay Writing Contest” for the selected grade six pupils, to support the Project W.A.T.C.H which
aims to strengthen the value of punctuality and honesty with the Theme: “Instilling the Culture of
Honesty and Time Consciousness Amidst Pandemic”.

There were 20 grade six pupils who participated in the said activity. They enjoyed doing the
activity and made them realize and deepen their understanding that time is important; that once it is
lost, it will never be back. This program emphasizes the saying that “Time is Gold” and that every
tick of the clock counts; most especially in these trying times. It helped develop a positive attitude
among our learners. The importance of being on time and not being late is a good manner that everyone
must value. The concept of being punctual or right on time, and being honest are no doubt, the basic
values that we should all recognize, that should instill in the minds of our young RES learners.
Strengthening the values of punctuality and honesty boosts a person’s integrityand contributes to
one’s success.

The activity was successfully conducted in coordination with our Master teacher consultants
in Grade Six, Mrs. Lorna C. Bunagan and Mr. Jayson A. Caraang, in cooperation with all grade six
teachers. Mr. Jayson O. Caraang; was the judge of the Essay Writing Contest. He carefully assessed the
entry presented by the contestants in different sections and he chose the best who have met the criteria
for judging. The most comprehensive, relevance to the theme in connection significance to the issue,
valuing comprehensiveness and originality of their work.

The most awaited part of the activity was when the judge finally declared the lucky winners
for their achievement; the award is hereby given to the following pupils who did their best in the essay
