Diggerland Development Report by Bruce
This year we continued to fundraise for our Mezzanine Development. We envisage that
we should in the coming year have enough funds to build. At the same time Phil
Robertson our project officer has been preparing for a challenge to the ruling that we
are to have a lift. This is an arduous task and we are most grateful for his expertise.
A lift would not only be expensive but anomalous in that it would allow access of
disabled people to the mezzanine and put them at risk in the event of a power failure
in an emergency. In our view, there is no good reason for it, and if we can resolve the
matter we will be able to begin to build almost immediately. In the case that we have
to put in a lift we intend to begin to build and believe we can raise the funds required
in the build period.
There was progress in that the sound area drew down their funds to advance some of
the sound enhancement side of the project to take advantage of a ½ price opportunity
with the new data projector.
Assuming outstanding pledges all come in, we have about $92,000 raised so far over
the past 3 years! This would leave about $24,000+ left to raise not including any lift
requirements based on current estimates of $116,000.
Elsewhere, we rebuilt the Calder property air conditioner and installed a heater. We
also built a door in to the corridor of the 6 Ilex Street property so that the hair-
dresser’s air conditioners will run more efficiently. Darren built, Bruce plastered and
Stu painted, including repainting the hallway. We also had issues with rear external
door knobs of the church being vandalised; refitted sturdy style.
We also budgeted for general loan reduction ~ $20k likely to be done by Dec 31.
Water Baptisms in 2014
In 2014 we had 4 new Christians baptised in water. It was very
exciting to watch their faith grow in the Lord and to then take the
next step in water baptism. Jamie Bobbin & Charles Hutchins were
baptised at Diggerland. Robyn & Ryan Bobbin were baptised on a
beautiful day in the Murray river.

GO TEAM Report 2014 – Libbie McBain
GO TEAM commenced in April - with an OLYMPIC Theme. The Tuesday was notably down
in numbers but the news soon circulated that we were back again and Wednesday saw
more kids arrive . So prior to the Sept Go Team we increased our advertising campaign to
include our Youth dressing in Camo gear and walking around the Red Cliffs Sunday market
handing out BootCamp flyers to local and visiting families. This was excellent exposure for
GO Team with the Youth going right into the heart of the community increasing awareness
that this is a Program designed for ALL Primary school kids. This initiative enabled us to
reach and impact a larger section of the public sowing the concept of Go Team to a broader
audience. We have continued to build momentum over both Go Team Events and Sept’s
BootCamp saw an amazing 80% of the kids in attendence were families from the wider
community. Our Vision for next year is again to advertise the event at the local Sunday
market by having either a Stall or Sausage sizzle so we can continue to build a positive
relationship within the community with the aim of optimising the ground already taken
and further increasing our Profile through being a visible presence in the heart of our
community. WELL DONE Team I am SO incredibly PROUD of YOU ALL ....
YOU’RE SIMPLY THE BEST !!!!!!!

participated in a wonderful re-enactment of the Easter story
on the Main stage. Thank you to all the parents for allowing
their child/children to be involved in these unique services as
it is always so meaningful and adds such a special element to
the message that is being told.
On Sunday Sept 28th – We were so blessed and honoured
to have Maco visiting from Canada to share with the Kidz
church and Kinder children about her desire and heart for
Children across the nations. She imparted her powerful
message of each child being a precious building block in
GOD’s kingdom and presented every child and leader present
with a Canadian Inuksuk called ‘Inukie’ a symbol of
Friendship. Maco explained that by accepting this gift our
church families would be forever joined together in unity and
love. The children received this beautiful gift and then Maco

THE AWESOME KIDZ CHURCH TEAM 2014
Kidz Church Annual Sleepover
The Annual Kidz Church Sleepover continues to be the MOST anticipated event
on our calendar year and 2014 certainly lived up to their expectations yet again.
Leaders had their skates on from the moment they arrived as for some of our
children this was their first ever KC Sleepover – and for Caitlin and Chloe they
were JUST so incredibly excited as they said they had been waiting FOREVER
for their turn to come !!!
This is such a wonderful opportunity for our kids to interact with the leaders in
a more relaxed atmosphere to just be loved and pampered in a safe, FUN
environment. This year a small group of kidz supervised by Majella cooked our
supper for the evening– honey joys and served them to the rest of the group.
They did an AWESOME job. Every year we explore new ways to make the
Sleepover vibrant, exciting and engaging for all who participate and the
cooking segment was a new addition which proved very successful.
I wish to Thank all KC Leaders and Jnr Youth who volunteered their time on the
Saturday evening .. and special thanks to Andrew Graham Sarah T, Steph B and
James T (who both arrived at about 10pm after they finished work) for staying
overnight with these precious little cherubs.
Without the continued support
and assistance with these
special events they would not
be possible... So a HUGE

Women’s Ministry by Julianne
Women's Ministry is passionate to see women impacted in their lives and being
supported and cared for. I believe that is what we have done this year!
Arise and Shine Conference
Arise and Shine Conference was amazing this year seeing Roma Waterman taking it to
another level. Roma powerfully shared her story.
All the women who attended were greatly impacted and will not forget the faith lessons
from Roma’s life.
Refresh
This year Refresh was celebrated in style at our Diggerland Church. We had Nick and
Meredith Resce speaking to over 200 women. Laura and Anna did an amazing job in
finance and administrating Refresh.
Another great year for Refresh.
International Speaker
In October we had the pleasure of having Pastor Guea Wari from Papa New Guinea
come and speak at one of our night meetings. Women were impacted by her story and
the message she brought out on the night.
End of Year Celebration
This year we celebrated our end of year at Dockside Café on the Marina. This was a
great time to celebrate the year that it was and to honour Laura Circosta who will be
leaving Diggerland in the New Year. We thanked Laura for all her years of faithfully
serving in Women’s Ministry. You will be missed.
I would like to thank Debbie Obatoki and Julie Macdonald for being on the team and all
their hard work this year.
It’s a pleasure being part of this great ministry and I look forward to another great year
of expansion. I am honoured doing life with all these wonderful women!

to families on Sundays. The local agencies have been providing us with
a variety of families in need of support .
On every second Thursday we have hampers available to be picked up
from the Good Golly Shop. Again the agencies have been calling in to
collect these for their clients, as well as families coming in for a quick
cuppa and a chat with us.
Foodbank Victoria have supplied our pantry with low cost products
and we are still collecting end of day products from Banjos’ bakery.
The fridge and freezer supplied by a Mildura City Council grant are up
and running in the Good Golly kitchen. We now have a constant supply
of food other than just room temperature goods, to enhance the
picked up hampers.
Many thanks go to Mel Webb and the Milne boys who help with
organizing the pantry and with any extra hampers that are required
out of our normal times.
We have also organized breakfast for the young disabled adults at
Sunitafe on Wednesday mornings during term time.
“Great appreciation goes to Andrea Winton for the help possible every
week for the collection of bread.”
FOOD4FAMILIES Christmas Hampers
by Julie Macdonald
Part of our vision for Food4Families since its birth is to put Christmas
Hampers together to give out to families in need.
This year we received a donation from Rotary Mildura and from PFD
Food Services to make up extra special hampers for Christmas.
Both of these organizations will no doubt be inundated with requests
for help at this time of year and we will send a huge thank you to each
of them.
Julianne, Helga and myself spent a very happy morning assembling
them in the church kitchen area. Listening to the dulcet tones of Alan
Jackson (wonder who’s music selection that was??)
We made up twelve impressive hampers. These will be given to our
local agencies and they in turn will pass them on to deserving families
in need.

Friends & Little Ones (FLO)
by Amber
I am so excited to birth this new group called
Friends and Little Ones (FLO).
This has been on my heart for so long and to see
it really happen in this last month is so exciting.
I have a heart to connect with other young
people out there, especially those who are
parenting children, often without much support.
I began to have a vision of what it would look like
as somewhere for young mums to come
together & share their faith, where their
children were also welcome & safe. Almost all
the women on my heart were without support
and/or childcare and simply never made it to
church. So, together with Kylie, I began to host a
Bible study from home.
We have had 3 meet ups since our first one in
November of this year. 6 mums have attended
with their little ones so far, and it has been a
great opportunity to come together to share
testimonies, pray and study the Word.
The most wonderful experience has been
connecting with those uncertain & new believers
who otherwise would never get to hear about
what Jesus has done in my life and the lives of
others.
We had a wonderful break up event, and its so
great to have woman attend who I have long
been praying for.
I believe lives are going to be transformed and
prayers answered in the coming year.
I so look forward to what will be installed next
year for this group.

Torque Report – 2014 by Ps Andre
This has been another amazing year for Torque, which is run by a dedicated team who have a
passion to see Torque grow in it’s influence in the district & beyond. There were 9 Torque events
held this year, each of them significant in their own right. Visiting speakers included Simon Clegg,
Samuel Long, Mario Masasso & Ian Miller, we were also blessed by a number of our own amazing
speakers.
The youth ministry is expanding under the leadership of Ps. Ruth Whitton who is doing an
amazing job of training leaders, building teams, & connecting with the community. The youth
ministry will take on the name Torque next year, with the Torque events becoming central to it’s
ministry. The lines have become less blurred in terms of where Torque sits, and the team has
grown in its abilities under Ruth’s leadership.
Therefore I find that, after some 15 years or so of running these events, and after positioning
myself to hand on the leadership of Torque at the end of this year, that I can comfortably and
confidently do so. What a happy ending to an incredible era for me. Thank you to all those who
have served with me in this ministry, I know there is so much more to come. I will continue on in
my leadership of the Torque Schools ‘band for the time being.

We were able to go into 5 schools
throughout the year, Red Cliffs SC, St
Josephs, Irymple SC, Chaffey College
& Trinity, reaching a wide number of
students who responded to our lunch
time entertainment.
The schools band has been a strong
point of connection & outreach for
the youth ministry, introducing
teenagers to the ministry of Torque &
helping to make a connection to the
wider church body.
All of the school performances were
significant , with Irymple SC a
standout due to Samuel Long being
able to speak an encouraging
message to the students. The
response from students & teachers
was overwhelming. The band
members are starting to grasp the
enormity of the ministry.
We also competed in the regional
battle of the bands semi finals on
Sep. 5 & then the finals in November.
Although losing by only 1 point in the
finals, it was a fantastic experience.
We acknowledge how blessed we are
as we continue to find favour in our
community through the opportunities
that are presented to us and the
relationships we are building.
The band keeps improving in its
ability to reach young people with a
positive message through a mixture
of its own songs, and songs which
they cover from various secular
bands.

MOPS by Julianne
What a great year 2014 has been for MOPS.
We have seen MOPS grow this year with new
mums from Red Cliffs and Mildura community
come along to this great program.
Another thing that I have seen develop this year
are stronger relationships amongst the women
that attend. You can see that they are finding
support and the care they need by attending
MOPS.
There have been so many wonderful highlights
throughout the year, the women have gained so
much from the sessions they have participated
in.
Highlights for 2014 have been:
•Ruthie mentoring on Managing Emotions,
Understanding the differences between Men &
Women, Parenting complaints versus Strong
willed children & Christmas traditions
•Debbie mentoring from her medical background
•Craft- Sandra Boulton showing the mums how
to make activity packs for their children
• Kit Kat houses
•Attending Wooden Door café for end of year
celebration
I want to say a special thankyou and to
acknowledge these wonderful carers of our
children: Jill Grayling, Kylie Roberts, Sarah-Jane
Tyson, Naomi Stevens, Gigi Whitton and Bev
Honetana. MOPS could not function if it wasn't
for the giving of your time.
I would like to also thank Gaynor Marron for all
her time and generosity in hospitality area.
It has been a privilege to be part of MOPS and I
look forward to new developments and growth
in 2015.
MOPS & Me by Linda Cattanach
For the past 7 years, my kids and I have attended many playgroups and clubs in
various forms, but the uniqueness of MOPS has won us over.
We have always been greeted with warmth by the ever changing army of
volunteers.
It has been a delight to be spoiled with delicious food and drink.
For many of us, it is a much needed respite from the daily challenges that our
children throw at us.
It is a place for laughter, for meeting new faces, for nutting out problems, and
making new discoveries.
We come from different towns, countries, cultures and religious backgrounds;
and we all come together to share our wisdom.
Through meeting so many acquaintances and special friends, I have truly learned
to love motherhood.
I have witnessed so much generosity and heard so many intimate stories that I
feel my heart is changed forever... And the coffee is yum!

2014 has been a year of new beginnings for

study, prayer and fellowship have been the
primary focus, with 6 guys being baptised in

more and more. I’m really wanting to change
from my old ways and thought patterns and to
keep learning and growing into my new life and

Young Adults’ Ministry Ruth Tankard
Should ministry be so much
fun?
Roland and I love ministering
to the young adults (18-25yr
olds) in our church. This age
group has so much promise,
potential and their energy is
contagious.
We have had a fabulous year.
We have had a number of
new guys come along to our
connect group and various
times we’ve got together.
Love the new life!
Our young adults undergird
every area of ministry on our
church with their tireless
service.
Weekly on Monday nights we
gather to worship and catch
up around the word and with
one another. Mondays are
the time for the guys to
refresh and refuel. We
regularly get together for
dinner too.
Annually at the start of the
year we travel to Creswick to
Log Cabin Camp. This year we
had a fabulous time as you
can see from the photos.
