D-Force Report 2011 – report by Shayne Tonzing

Boot Camp 2011

Hi all – it’s been an awesome
year of growth, God has really
turned up the heat.

We have gone from an awesome
team of 7 to 12 volunteer
leaders, all in one year.

The youth have consistently
grown from Glory to Glory,

God’s outpouring has been
amazing. I believe every
individual now has a greater
relationship with Jesus and a
greater awareness of the
awesome love God has for them.

Praise God.

We had awesome ‘God
encounters’, with healings and
youth receiving Jesus as their
Lord and Saviour for the first
time.

Our regressive dinner saw our
youth biting off more than they
could chew. The likes of Aaron
Lucchesi (who is just
unstoppable when it comes to
eating) was actually full !! and
there was still plenty of food left
on the table.

Here’s what a recent D-force
graduate had to say about her
experience at youth.

My high-light for the 3 years I have
been in D-Force, would have to be

getting closer with the leaders,
developing a greater relationship
with them and growing more in my

walk with God.
I would not have gone as far as I

have without their help and
friendship!

I LOVE D-FORCE! I’ll miss you
guys

Rachael 

Boot camp was a major event for 2011, with many youth
encountering God, some for the first time.

It’s time, God has shown me, that the youth of Sunraysia will rise
up. He has declared in Numbers 14:8 If the Lord delights in us, then
He will bring us into this land, and give it to us; A land which flows
with milk and honey.

How can you not be pleased with the calibre of our youth?? they
are awesome, Go for it guys 

D-Force Report 2011 – continued

Wow what a year it has been! Being new to D-force and connecting with the Youth of today has been such a delight. The
messy games, footy pie nights, aqua coaster, some amazing nights with some quality teenagers. Cannot wait for the new

year to start a bigger and better year of D-force . Nat Mandica 

Our highlight for the year was Boot Camp. It was amazing to see the awesome change in the youth. Who, at the start were
somewhat shy and nervous about participation in the activities and opening up. But once they encountered God for the first
time, they changed completely. They were open, happy and alive. Just so awesome to see our God touch the hearts of our youth.

They will never be the same again. Shayne & Julie Beasy 

Look forward to sharing with you all in 2012, a huge thank you to our amazing team of
leaders. God Bless you all, Shayne Tonzing 

GO-TEAM Report by Beth Kruck

Heading up and serving in Go Team has been such an amazing blessing and privilege this year.
The Go Team crew consists almost entirely of many of the church’s senior and junior youth, and
of course we all know how totally incredible, creative, hard working and willing to serve they are.
Really they make it so easy! We ran three Go Teams (Holiday Programs) this year, and even
managed while many of the team was away in the Philippines (no mean feat I can assure you).
Some of the themes we covered over the three Go Teams included “Survivor”, “Footy Go Team”,
and “Who Done It”. Throughout every Go Team and every theme, the story of God’s unconditional
love and acceptance, and the value, gifts, and significance of every child was woven. For some
children it was the first time they would have heard such positive things about themselves, and
such a message of hope. I was so proud that our youth not only spoke that message but lived it
out in such a beautiful way. We also continued to bus in disadvantaged children from Mildura and
Irymple. So in short Go-Team consisted of very messy games, action packed dances, great fun
art and craft activities, silliness, frivolity and so much more, but above all it consisted of beautiful
children hearing the message of Christ, and it was so worth it.

“This is my first Go Team and it has been AWESOME” - Dillon

“Go Team is my favourite thing to do” - Matthias Cochrane

“Tom and Ali are really cute, so I like Go Team” - Jzarne Cochrane

Kidz Church Picnic Day – Sept 2011

Our kidz church picnic was a wonderful opportunity for our teams to organise games & fun activities...
inviting our wonderful parents to be young at heart again and reignite the healthy competitive spirit that
lives in us all..... just waiting to be released!!! It was fantastic to see grown men and women galloping
across the Barclay Lawns with a child slung over their backs... hanging on the best way they could... in
anything goes style as their parents fought for the coveted position ....of crossing the finish line first!!
It was also precious to see kidz grabbing other dads anyone they could coerce into carrying them etc
not wanting to miss out on any of the action!!

The feedback from the community was excellent and certainly reinforced to us that we need to make
this picnic a priority in our yearly calendar events. A HUGE thank you to OUR KIDZ – to see your
gorgeous Faces, radiant Smiles & hear you laugh from your bellies is simply Heaven on Earth!!!

Thanks Bec & Jared & Rudy Kirby – for organising the eskies & BBQ trailer from the Justice Dept.
Cristy – for donating her expertise, time and face-paints for the event. Teag’s and Cristy for creating
such beautiful face art on our kids and team. Chris Webb for donating all the BBQ meat Beth & Geoff for
organising the Go-team trailer and donating lollies for raffle.

AND THANKS to All our amazing team for their support- cooking, serving, setting-up & supervising all
activities, a brilliant effort from everyone. YOU’RE AWESOME!!!!

Young Adults By EmilyV & NatashaC

The Young Adults Girls’ Group is a space for girls to share together our experiences,
our questions, our ideas about God and our walk with Him. We’ve had awesome
times this year of such intense worship and praise, connecting with God on a more
intimate level, interceding in prayer for people we know and events happening
through Diggerland such as the Johnny Lee Clary event.
We’ve supported each other through some tough times, and seen some amazing
breakthroughs. Many times we’re just struggling to get from Zion to Wednesday
nights, where we get recharged, giving us the boost to make it through to Sunday
again.
We also just enjoy some great chill nights of popcorn & movies 
Another special highlight of the year; we were very privileged to hear Esther share a
original song from her personal journey.
The advantage of our small intimate group is that it creates a warm and friendly
atmosphere in which to introduce girls outside of the church to God in a non-
threatening way. Our group of faithfuls has even led to another girls group starting
up in Adelaide on Thursday nights where we’ve even been asked to be guest
speakers!!
Tash: This year we started off with a large group of girls but it’s settled into a
smaller core group. I’ve been learning to rely on God and just trust Him for direction.
Steph: Wednesdays are my favourite nights of the week!
Emily: When Tash & I were first asked to start a young adults group for girls it was
pretty scary, something totally new! But it’s been amazing! God just covers all our
concerns and takes over…He shows up & does the work for us! We have such an
amazing group, all beautiful incredibly talented young women of God. They bless ME
every Wednesday 
Esther: I just love it!!
We’re excited to see what God has planned for 2012 – we would love to see and are
believing for our core group to be tripled in the coming year!
Em & Tash.

Connect Group

Report by Anna & Laura

Small group…
What an amazing year we have had. Running our connect group together, it has been a real privilege for both of us
to build relationship together and with such lovely ladies.
We got a chance to cover and explore different styles of teaching throughout the year, from Joyce Meyer, Joseph
Prince and Chris Hill...Certainly challenging our mediocrity and giving us desire for new growth. It has been
wonderful getting to know the women in our group and watching them grow into deeper relationship with Christ
and becoming more confident in themselves, it’s so exciting… We look forward to 2012. Anna & Laura

I have enjoyed our small group, the friendship I have made among the girls and the growth I have made
towards my faith in the Lord Jesus. It’s been a great inspiration. Thank you and God bless.
Roma

Well all I can say is how lucky I am to be a part of such an amazing sisterhood! Small group for me has been
inspirational, passionate, incredible learning about our amazing Father and Savior. A humbling experience
all round. Thank you beautiful women. Jac

I luv my ladies night, as I don’t have any other Christian friends and I am a single mum. Sometimes we feel
alone and struggle to cope with the life. It refreshes and teaches me how great God is till I get to church on
Sunday. I luv it heaps, wish we could do it more:) Gaynor

Thankyou so much to Anna and Bruce for your hospitality in your lovely home and to Laura and Anna for
leading the group. Even though I was not able to attend the group regularly, whenever I was able, I was
welcomed with open arms. This group was everything a connect group is all about, love ,support,
understanding, worship, learning, teaching, tears, laughter and lots and lots of the presence of our almighty
GOD. To be able to get together with these other wonderful women is such a blessing. Glory to God. Andrea

Homegroup@Geoff&Beth’s Report by Geoff Kruck

An absolutely fantastic year. I’m a bit biased, but I reckon we have the best home group
there is!! Full of awesome young adults with passion, faith and inspiration. Part of the
vision for 2011 for the group was to grow in number by 100%, well we have reached that,
plus a few! Now all we need to do is break a wall down to make more room! Our home
group team is Geoff & Beth Kruck, Toby & Teagan Heil, Matt Maher, Mel Webb, Chris
Webb, Genna Milne, Gina Pole, Penny Foreman, Sam Foreman, Aaron Jones, Jarod
Jones, Bea Whitchurch, Lochie Milne, Esther Milne, Isaac Webster and Jacob Wilksch
(Awesome worship leader and gifted musician/singer )
It’s been an exciting year in that we have on a number of occasions taken the meeting
outside the 4 walls and onto the streets. Mission focused, with opportunities to pray with
and reach out to residents in Hornsey Park.
In one of our weekly sessions we went around the room and discussed dream seeds for
ways of blessing the community. A seed planted by Toby saw us plan and host a
Christmas Dinner for a family living in Hornsey Park. They have 16 children and have
never had an opportunity to go out and have dinner together as a family. We were able to
make that possible thanks to our amazing and generous team. I'm so proud of all of you. I
look forward to seeing how the Lord is going to continue to grow this group in 2012.
Bring it on!!

Hornsey Park Ministry Report by Geoff Kruck

What a massive year!! But a fantastic, fun-filled and rewarding one at that! A huge thanks to our awesome
ministry team Geoff & Beth Kruck, Toby Heil, Matt Maher, Mel Webb and Esther Milne. You’re all an
inspiration and it’s wonderful to see how the Lord is growing in and through you and how you’re being a
major blessing to those in the community.

In May, Toby and myself were fortunate to take 5 young blokes from Hornsey Park away camping for 2
nights. A fantastic opportunity to bond, go fishing, canoeing, cook together and build great lasting
relationships, one of the young blokes that went away with us has made a return to school now as a result of
that weekend. Go God! September saw myself and Andrew Cook take another small group away camping!
Just awesome!

We are into our 4th year outreaching into this culturally diverse housing community and each year we are
growing closer to the people here and building stronger trust based relationships. Beth and I have enjoyed
our first year living here and look forward to seeing God move more and more in this place.

December saw us host one of our precious families from Hornsey Park the Cochran’s and most of their 16
children. Our awesome home group planned the evening and delivered a wonderful Christmas blessing to
this family. Testimony from Esther Milne – “My favourite part of the year was doing the dinner for the
Cochran’s. It was just amazing to see the joy on their faces, knowing we did it just to bless them.”

These invaluable workshops will be

The Red Cliffs Chaplaincy Night displays both musical and artistic talent. We are
privileged to support this event. This is a great community connect night. Arts
Generation supported both areas with students and church family performing and
displaying their talents. A small team of eager art lovers helped to create ‘rooms within

Administration Office

Report by Ruthie

Never a year goes by without achievements occurring in the administration department.
They may not make exciting reading but they are beneficial none the less. This year
we’ve added another 2 bank accounts to accommodate increased diversity – one being
a specific DIGGERLAND bank account which is solely for tithes/offerings. We have had a
property purchase for us and Merbein outreach and all the legalities and accommodation
of those within our systems. Also we refinanced our loans into one big loan with another
provider to bring about cost savings and increase our equity. A new Business Online
saver account has enabled us to invest funds for departments instantaneously resulting
in interest benefits. New systems have been introduced to facilitate all of this.
Julie MacDonald very kindly offered a voluntary afternoon a week and started training
around March which then had to go on hold as she re-located to Melb for the 2nd half of
the year . We hope to take off where we left, when Julie is able to after returning home.
Aleisha trained with me for a couple of hours a week part of 2010 and most of 2011.
Therefore I was able to take 6 weeks Long Service Leave in Sept/Oct thanks to her
commitment to come in and work in the Admin Office during her 2 weeks of September
school holidays. Thanks Leishy!! Some plans for 2011 have had to go on hold until 2012
due to my extended leave. As always God’s grace has enabled the mountains to be
climbed this year and I look forward to doing 2012 with you all.

USHERS

This year our Ushering Team has again been a conduit for connecting in newer people
within our church . We also have dedicated long term ushers like Rosalie & Graeme and
Jan & Perry who embody the welcoming spirit and just love to have smiling faces and
welcoming arms for people entering our doors. In October we had a Ushering get
together supper and we plan to do these every 6 months to foster friendships and
purpose. Thankyou to Lynne Hazel for her continued support in setting up each Sunday.

Diggerland Men’s Ministry - 2011 Report by Andrew Graham

Events for the year included:
- Australia Day & Melbourne Cup day BBQ breakfast at Joe Ietto’s house.
- Johnny Lee Clary evangelism – Men’s Breakfast
- “Men of power” – Diggerland Men’s Conference
- “Men’s Retreat” - @ the Cooks place.
- Two morning small group / prayer meetings meeting weekly throughout the year.

“It was a highlight for
me personally to write
and perform a song at
the Men’s Breakfast
called “Love is the
answer”, inspired by Rev
Johnny Lee Clary’s life
story.” - Andrew Graham

Johnny Lee Clary – Breakfast

Thanks to Jonathon Sharman for designing the “Men of power” logo, and to
everyone who served us, including Lorraine and team (catering) and to
Andre, Mark & Mark on AV, and Ps Bruce for your guidance.

“... The Men’s
Conference was truly
a wonderful
opportunity to lay a
heap of stuff at the
cross and walk away,
while also finding
new stuff to uproot
and discard ...” –

Andrew Cook

“Our own men's conference here in Red
Cliffs, I finally learnt that l was loved and
cared for...” – Lee Pencak

Diggerland Men’s Ministry Report by Andrew Graham

Andrew Graham
This year has been a great year of growth for the men of Diggerland, especially
through our morning prayer meetings where we connect as real men, share the
word, pray and fellowship over the breaking of bread (& coffee). We have had so
many answers to prayer. One testimony - we heard of some twins that were still in
the womb, but one of them was struggling to survive and significantly smaller in
weight than the healthy twin. It wasn’t looking good for the smaller one. Anyway,
we prayed for them and specifically for life over the struggling baby and that at the
next check up that the baby would be equal in weight to the healthy twin. Well, the
report came back that the struggling baby was miraculously back on track next
check up and weighed the same as its twin, and was subsequently born the same
weight and stayed that way for the first 12 months. Praise God! – Andrew Graham

My thanks go to all the men’s core team, Mark
Cameron, Geoff Kruck, Shayne Tonzing and Perry
Herrmann for your support, encouragement and
faithfulness. Together we have seen men grow and

encounter God this year.
To everyone who helped throughout the year at

various events, thank you!
Thanks guys for the servant heart you carry. It is my

privilege to serve alongside you all to see God’s
kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven!

Bring on 2012, for His glory.

Diggerland Men’s Ministry Continued

The Men’s BBQ’s were popular,
again this year with just under
100 attending Australia Day
BBQ 2011. @ Joe’s.
Thank you to Joe and Maria for
hosting us.

“Diggerland church is
incredibly amazing. It is a
humbling experience to be a
part of... The stepping stones
this church provides for
believers to advance can only
be God given. Praise God for
His servants who obediently
work to put things together
and run them. The Men’s
retreat was another
wonderful time with our own
men stepping up and
ministering to us., helping to
part the foliage and get a
clearer view of Jesus’ face..
Thank you.” – Andrew Cook

Diggerland Men’s Ministry continued

TESTIMONY
“”The men's retreat gave me
the chance to grow in God ...
and I felt the Lord’s love through
what Geoff, Shayne, Andrew
and Mark were speaking on.
It was a blessing and a big
lift for me.
Going away with Matty Milne
and Andrew Graham to Swan
Hill for their men's conference
was a real blessing also. Matty,
you are an awesome bloke, just
keep reaching out to God and
knowing that in spite of
everything you wrestle with,
you just keep on going in the
Lord and the love you have for
Him has given
me encouragement to keep
moving forward. Hearing Nick
from Sydney share what he
went through in his life was an
eye opener for me as well.
Andrew, a big thank you to you
for keeping me involved and for
being there in my worst time
throughout the year. Your kind
nd encouraging words have
been a great blessing to me and
the other great men on Tuesday
morning, with all the prayers
and great words, plus giving me
the chance to speak out when l
was struggling in my walk.
Meeting Wally from Swan Hill
has been real blessing this year,
hearing his life story while he
has stayed with me in my
place has been awesome and
learning from him. Looking
forward to next year in what the
Lord has planned for me... Bless
ya all

Diggerland Men’s Ministry continued

TESTIMONY
“I enjoyed the Men’s Retreat, hanging
out and fishing with the guys. I am very
grateful to the guys for prayer to break
down the walls of prejudice I built up
from school days and I have been able
to let go of the hurt from being put
down as an Italian kid. Praise God.
Thank you for the prayers in the
morning prayer meetings, which
helped me get through some tough
times this year, through various trials. I
have seen many answers to prayer. It
has been great to hang out with the
guys over breakfast as well and be
seen together. I have battled rejection
over the years, but finding it much
easier now.
I am so thankful to God for bringing us
to Diggerland. It has been life
changing. Praise God! - Joe Ietto

Noel & Roland
TESTIMONY

“Connecting with Men is something
that we do everyday in our workplace
or at school. In my case, I have been
pressing into God and to my mates
who are unsaved and have no
knowledge of the Word of the Lord.
The last Torque of the year, 3 of my
mates decided they would come see
what I had been telling them, curious
to find out. Although they were lost at
sea at first, the Word of the Lord was
more than relevant to them and they
ended up loving it! In the future to
come, I plan to keep reminding my
school friends about what I do and let
God do the rest.” Matthew Mandica

Our annual sleepover was once again an enormous
success. For the first time we held it over a Saturday
night /Sunday as KC had the amazing opportunity to
join the Torque team for a BBQ and then attend the
Torque concert for worship with the Torque Band and
Worship Team. This was such an incredible experience
for our kids and they certainly loved the extra special
attention all the Torque Team gave them.
The whole night/morning was fast, furious and action
packed. Our team had their skates on from the moment
they arrived to ensure it was a special time for our kids.
A huge crowd pleaser was a scrumptious breakfast of
bacon & egg muffins cooked by the team.... absolutely
delicious!!
Once again the team totally excelled themselves and
really blessed our kids with their endless enthusiasm &
energy. Our kids felt very beautiful after the endless
pampering of hair styles, nails makeup &
foot spa’s .... even the boys enjoyed a foot spa.
