The Rapiscan PM704 transportable personnel monitor is the solution of choice for temporary radiation inspection applications. It is ideal for inspecting people gathered at events, such as sporting venues, political conferences or government functions. First responders can quickly transport the PM704 to a site and be ready to inspect people for radiation contamination. Required Detection Performance

The VM-250AG vehicle portal monitor consists of two self-contained, weather resistant pillars placed on either side of the roadway to be protected. Each pillar contains two organic plastic scintillator detectors, an occupancy detector, and an amplifier/controller. HAZWOPER for cleanup operations
The essential HAZWOPER requirement for cleanup operations is a written safety and health program. This program describes the work policies, practices, and procedures that your employees who do cleanup work must follow. Your written program
must also describe the chain of command at the site. A chain of command links one person with overall responsibility for managing site operations to others responsible for carrying out specific tasks. Those included in the chain of command:
• A general supervisor, who directs site operations.
• A site safety-and-health supervisor, who has authority and knowledge to develop the program and who can ensure that it complies with HAZWOPER requirements.
• Those involved in cleanup operations at the site.
• Those who will respond to emergencies at the site.
One site-specific safety and health program is acceptable if it covers all tasks, operations, and employers on the site, and if the employees are trained to use the plan. However, each contractor or subcontractor at the site must comply with HAZWOPER requirements. If you already have a written workplace safety- and-health program, you don’t need to develop another one just for your cleanup operations; however, it must address conditions at the site and include the following elements.
Site evaluation
HAZWOPER 1910.120(c)
Before your employees begin cleanup work at a new site, a designated qualified person must do a preliminary evaluation to identify hazards to which they may be exposed and to determine how to protect them with engineering controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment. Include areas immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH), areas that exceed published exposure levels defined in HAZWOPER 1910.120(a)(3), and areas that indicate exposure above radioactive dose limits. Soon after employees begin working at the site, the qualified person must evaluate the site.
Site evaluation criteria:
• The site’s hazards, including the physical or chemical properties of hazardous substances and how employees could be exposed to the hazards.
• Employee health and safety risks associated with exposure to hazardous substances.
• Places where hazardous substances could leak.
• Location, size, topography, and access to the site.
• What jobs employees do and how long it will take to accomplish them.
• Qualifications of emergency responders and approximate response times.
• Personal protective equipment that employees need to do their jobs.
Site control
HAZWOPER 1910.120(d)
Site control establishes procedures and safe practices that ensure your employees will be protected from hazardous substances. Essential for site control:
• A map of the site that identifies contaminated areas.
• Clearly identified work zones that prevent unauthorized workers from entering contaminated areas and contain contaminants.
• Written communication and safe work procedures for each work zone.
• Written procedures for a buddy system. A buddy system pairs workers so that they can help one another during an emergency. Buddies don’t have to work for the same employer, but they must be similarly equipped, appropriately trained, and must know their responsibilities under HAZWOPER.
• Written procedures for warning employees about emergencies.
• The name of the nearest emergency-medical responder.
Employee training
HAZWOPER 1910.120(e)
Employees need to know about the site hazards to which they may be exposed, how to recognize the hazards, and how to control their exposure. The best way for them learn is through a combination of classroom instruction, site-specific information, and supervised fieldwork. Employees who work at the site must have appropriate training before they begin their work. You can send your employees to an offsite trainer but you’re responsible for ensuring that they can apply their training to the conditions at the site. What employees need to know:
• The names of those responsible for employee safety and health at the site.
• The site’s hazards.
• How to use personal protective equipment to control exposure.
• How to minimize exposure risks.
• Medical surveillance requirements.
• Procedures for decontaminating clothing and minimizing exposure to hazardous substances.
• Procedures for responding to emergencies.
• Procedures for working in confined spaces.
• Procedures for containing leaks and spills of hazardous substances.

Recommendations for individuals who must have direct contact with human remains
Human remains may contain blood-borne viruses such as hepatitis viruses and HIV, and bacteria that cause diarrheal diseases, such as shigella and salmonella. These viruses and bacteria do not pose a risk to someone walking nearby, nor do they cause significant environmental contamination.
Bacteria and viruses from human remains in flood water are a minor part of the overall contamination that can include uncontrolled sewerage, a variety of soil and water organisms, and household and industrial chemicals. There are no additional practices or precautions for flood water related to human remains, beyond what is normally required for safe food and drinking water, standard hygiene and first aid.
However, for people who must directly handle remains, such as recovery personnel, or persons identifying remains or preparing the remains for burial or cremation, there can be a risk of exposure to such viruses or bacteria.
Workers who handle human remains should use the following precautions:
• Protect your face from splashes of body fluids and fecal material. You can use a plastic face-shield or a combination of eye protection (indirectly vented safety goggles are a good choice if available; safety glasses will only provide limited protection) and a surgical mask. In extreme situations, a cloth tied over the nose and mouth can be used to block splashes.
• Protect your hands from direct contact with body fluids, and also from cuts, puncture wounds, or other injuries that break the skin that might be caused by sharp environmental debris or bone fragments. A combination of a cut-proof inner layer glove and a latex or similar outer layer is preferable. Footwear should similarly protect against sharp debris.
• Maintain hand hygiene to prevent transmission of diarrheal and other diseases from fecal materials on your hands. Wash your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand cleaner immediately after you remove your gloves.
• Give prompt care--including immediate cleansing with soap and clean water, and a tetanus booster if indicated--to any wounds sustained during work with human remains.
• In addition to guarding physical safety, participate in available programs to provide psychological and emotional support for workers handling human remains. Agencies coordinating the management of human remains are encouraged to develop programs providing psychological and emotional support and care for workers during and after recovery activities.
Other Considerations
From the public health perspective of lowering the risk
of possible infectious disease transmission, there is no requirement for mass burials or cremation. Response workers should assist local communities to identify a safe location for holding remains awaiting identification. This location should be shielded from public view if possible, and remains should be protected from scavenging animals.
If available, use body bags to contain remains. If available, refrigeration can reduce the rate of decay and facilitate identification.
The sight and smell of decay are unpleasant, but they do not create a public health hazard.

BioSeal Systems TC BAG
The newest of technology in body bags is a translucent, self- sealing containment device for Human Remains. Delivered as a single pouch that can be trimmed to fit any size of remains and then stored, shipped or cremated.
Each bag comes with a simple brown craft paper liner that can be discarded, utilized as an absorbent pad or used to conceal the remains. The plastic layers are coated with a proprietary adhesive formula that will not stick to any surface other than itself, so it is absolutely safe around the delicate tissue of remains.

be discarded, utilized as an absorbent pad or used to conceal the remains. Once sealed the TC bag can be opened for inspections and resealed as many times as you like. Each TC bag will contain and hold up to 275 lbs of weight and are packed at 10 units to a box for delivery.

Previously, the only equipment available to solve the issue of mass fatality cold storage was oversized walk in refrigerators or refrigerated trac- tor trailers. Both are functional solutions but also have many drawbacks when responding to any mass fatality incident. The Novatek 2100 cfm Bio Air Scrubber uses a HEPA filter for infectious aerosol particles and is also equipped with a special potassium permanganate impregnated media for vapor/ odor control. Novatek 1000 cfm Bio Air Scrubber
The filters for the Novatek Bio Air Scrubber are packaged separately with installation instructions included. There are no tools required and installation takes less than 5 minutes per unit.
A mass fatality mortuary atmosphere most likely will contain some, if not all, of the following toxic substances:
• Infectious Aerosols: Present in a natural event such as a Infection Control or a man-made or natural bio release.
• Methyl Mercaptan: A natural substance released from decaying matter. This is not toxic; however, it has the odor of rotting cabbage. Most people have experienced the odor as it is added to natural gas to make it easier to detect in case of a leak.
• Hydrogen Sulfide: A colorless flammable gas, very toxic with a “rotten egg” smell. Some common names for the gas in- clude sewer gas, swamp gas, and manure gas. In a mortuary setting, hydrogen sulfide is produced by bacterial breakdown of organic materials and human waste.
• Formaldehyde: Used in the embalming process or when a corpse is totally submersed as a preserving liquid. Exposure above 25ppm can cause pulmonary edema (fluid in lungs) which may lead to death.
• Alcohol: Most Formaldehyde solutions contain 6-15% alcohol which is used as a cosolvent disinfectant.
Provides from 50% to 100% longer ser- vice life than activated alumina products.

18’ Mobile Morgue Trailer
When a disaster strikes many resources are geared toward caring for those who are injured. What happens to those who do not survive? There may not be adequate or even available transport to remove them from the scene. The EMS Innovations Mobile Morgue Trailer and Cold Storage System can accommodate up to 18 fatalties and is equipped with the products and systems that allow for storage and preservation as well as transport to a center for identification and processing.

12’ Mobile Morgue Trailer
This smaller version of our popular 18’ Mobile Morgue Trailer is perfect for any hospital or identification facility for immediate additional mortuary storage needs. This trailer is outfitted to be run entirely off shore power (generators are available as an option). This system is completely customizable. Tandem axles ensure that the weight capacity will fit most needs.

a portion of our products. We support these individuals by providing them with work experience, pride in craftsmanship and social interaction. This center has been working with EMS Innovations for over 10 years.
Shipping: Shipping costs are “prepay and add.” We will gladly provide shipping costs in advance upon your request.
Terms: 30 day terms are available upon approved credit.

All returned items must be sent freight pre-paid and be received in new, resalable condition in original packaging. A 25% restocking fee will be charged for returns due to customer preference or misorder. Any product returned due to shipper’s error will be rectified at no cost.
