Greetings: Formal Greeting
Definition of Greetings
Greeting is a very common expression to say that we meet people or we
want to be nice with them.
Kinds of Greetings
In learning English, greeting is divided into two, namely:
1. Formal greeting
2. Informal greeting
How do Muslims Greet Each Other?
Muslims use one greeting, and it is actually meaningful. That greetings are:
“Assalamualaikum”: May peace be upon you.
“Asssalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabaraktuh”: May peace be upon
and the mercy and blessings of Allah.
This is known as the “Salaam”. When a person says the “Salaam” then it
is compulsory upon the person hearing it to reply.
Allah SWT said: “Angel‟s greeting will be‟ salaam.”
Friends of Abu Umamah also narrated that the Prophet
Muhammad said: “Indeed, the most important person according to
Allah is the one who initiates greetings/Salam.” (HR. Abu Dawud)
Then, our Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW said “Do Salaam
to each other”.
It is the importance Islam gives to the greeting.

Expressing Apology
Definition of Apology
Expressing apology is a statement that expresses an apology. To apologize
means to apologize for mistakes/mistakes to others. In other words, apologizing
can mean regretting what has been done.
Why Is Apologizing Important?
Hadith about apologizing and forgiving that is narrated from Abu Hurairah
Radhiyallahu anhu that the Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said:
“Whoever his/her brother and sisters (fellow Muslim)
visits to admit and apologize (for his/her mistakes) then let
him/her accept it, whether he/she is guilty or right, because if
he/she does not do that (forgiving his/her brothers and sisters)
then he/she will not come to my lake (in the hereafter).”
So, apologizing is important because it means we recognize our mistakes
and want to improve relations and maintain friendship between human beings.
Forgiveness is not a small thing at all. It takes an open heart and a clear mind to be
able to forgive someone. So indeed the act of forgiveness is highly honored by
Islam.
