A WALK THROUGH THE WOODS
Let us relax our eyes, blinded by screens and blazing lights,
To the soothing green of leaves
And to the rising grandeur of towered trees.

Let us relax our ears, deafened by traffic and boisterous music,
To the harmonious buzz of insects
And to the scampering of tiny creatures underneath.

Let us relax our nose, clogged by dust and pungent fumes,
To the gentle fragrance of flowers
And to the aroma of plants growing all around.

Let us relax our mouths, numbed by sugars and artificial flavors,
To the fresh taste of blackberries
And to the essence of strawberries.

Let us relax our hands, coarsened by plastics and hard metals,
To the rough beauty of bark
And to the smoothness of grass where we sit and eat.

Let us relax our minds, engrossed with hopes and worries
To the serenity of the forest
And to the cycle of nature, which binds us too.

CORONA VIRUS
Doctors and nurses are working very hard ,
Trying to find a cure ,
to make the world pure ;

It’s very scary,
we are all wary .
stepping out of the house ,
is a mammoth task ;
don’t touch anything ,
always wear a mask !
Sanitize everything ,
maintain social distancing ;
When will all this come to an end ;
I’m desperate to meet my friends

BEING INVISIBLE

Could anyone really be invisible , probably
someone who knows magic.
the power of being invisible can only be achieved
by a person who is classic.

when you are invisible no one can see you
Now did your size even grew

You can do whatever you want without being seen
For that I’m very keen

What will happen if you go to a house of ghost
when you are invisible
It is really scary and infeasible

Will it be a fun or a punishment
Or you will be in astonishment

CONCEALED CHARM

Through these heavy metal bars
We see the world in black and white.
But do we ever stop to ask,
“Is it really that much of logic and science?”

Structured words leave our mouth
With proper meaning and thought.
But what if all this while,
We were supposed to talk in poems which are now lost.

Controlled feelings and emotions
Surround our heart
However, is it really our way to start?

Just like the sky tries to hide its another side
Filled with bubbles of clouds,
Just like the busy streets put out of site the countryside
With lush green lawns
We try to conceal our exquisiteness
Filled with unfinished tales which are hard to move on from.

But the real charm lies in those bubbles of clouds,
Overshadowed by the silver white stars.
It lies in lush green lawns,
Waiting to be mowed.
It lies in those broken poems and songs,
Having no name.
It lies deep within us, locked up behind the self-made metal bars.

MOTHER NATURE
The trees rustle,
The gentle breeze,
There is no hustle
And no need to freeze
Everything is calm,
The raindrops pouring in my palms
The birds chirping
And the flowers are twirling

A SAFER PLACE

Can’t walk on the streets alone , it’s dangerous out there ,
Feeling insecure and threatened everywhere ,
Terrorism on news almost everyday ,
Our Earth is becoming riskier in every possible way.
Not safe for kids to play alone along the streets ,
Saying no to strangers when they’re offering sweets,
Robbery taking place every now and then ,
A theft occurring one day and then it happens again!
There are some good and bad people but you can’t tell who ,
You want to make it a safer place but do not know how to.

* Together let’s make Earth a safer place and we all can live
freely

LOST IN A BOOK

Reading through the lines without taking a breath ,
It feels scary ; almost like death ,
You’re all suffocated don’t know what to do ,
Want to get out but do not know how to!

You need help but there’s no one there ,
This place seems strange you haven’t seen it anywhere ,
All you can do is simply wait,
Slowly you’re losing all your faith.

Nothing can be done so you drop on the ground,
You rub your eyes and look around,
Gasp with shock when you see all your stuff ,
Was it a dream or just a bluff ?

You see your room wherever you look ,
Well that was the feeling of getting lost in a book.

GIRL CHILD

Save girl child educate girl child ,
Is what all of us say ,
But the crime rate in our society
Keeps increasing day by day.

When they are walking down the streets their clothes can’t be too short,
If they’re out too late at night, their reputation distorts.
It is said that girls are meant for household chores ,
But is that really true ?
I feel they are worth much more
Everyone has the right to get educated ; it doesn’t matter who.

Girls are a blessing just give them a chance to bloom,
Noone knows what wonders they can do ,
What harm have they done that they can’t live on Earth ,
Stop trying to take them away even before birth.

ARSHIA KATOCH END CHILD LABOUR
XI–SHAKESPEARE

There were many people dying,
I was startled from the bloodshed.

No! No! my eyes couldn’t be tortured anymore,
To see their families loosing up all their hopes,
It seemed to me as if a climber lost his rope.

Those children who earlier has beamed candidly,
Now, were terrified to even look up and talk,
Their innocent eyes now only saw the muddy floors.

The children are forced to work for their masters,
Oh! GOD have mercy on them so that they long-
laster.

End Child Labour!

WHERE ARE WE HEADING TO

Children working day and night ,
Making their future less bright ,
No one knows what to do ,
Where is our generation heading to ?

Inequality everywhere we go ,
Classifying people in groups of high and low ,
Poverty is man made it needs to end ,
Everyone is equal and together we should blend.

Dangerous fumes spread around the air ,
Pollution is taking over everywhere ,
We need a solution of what to do,
Where are we heading to ?

Clear water nowhere to be found ,
Breathing polluted air all around ,
How to fix this , no one has a clue ,
Where are we heading to ?

We need to be more careful about our planet
considering the fact that we need to leave
a clean and bright future for the next generation

YOUR OWN SUNSHINE

There is a sunshine in our hearts hiding in the

Clouds of our fears.

But then what are we afraid of? VEDANT AGARWAL

We never really get an answer to this question, XI-DALTON

because deep down
We know that fear is just an illusion created by us…

For what, may I ask are we tormenting ourselves?

Why are we stopping our sun and showing our fears?

Let me share a secret with you all.

That will help you grow and overcome your sorrow.

Just listen to your intuition and

Let your heart guide you.

I do agree that while following your intuitions

You may at times get a fright.

You may stumble and make mistakes.
You may also regret and cry but that’s okay

Your heart will guide you right.

Grateful you should be at that moment for the lessons

You are learning.

Lessons that are making you strong and upright

At that moment you have to stay positive and

Just believe in yourself

Trust me you will be flowing with the river of life.

River that will take you towards your own sunshine.

Why is it that giving guns is so easy, but giving
books is so hard?
I want a world where every child would get good
education.
I want to see women getting equal opportunities and
being at par with men.

Why is it that countries which we call strong are so
powerful in creating wars, but are so weak in
bringing peace?
I want a world where there would be peace.
A place where we all may know,
A place where we all may grow.

I want to see every child getting quality

I want to see all genders having equal RIGHTS &
I want to see PEACE established in every corner of

THEA STILTON AND THE RIDDLE OF THE RUINS
The mystery is deeper as you dive in this book...
This is a book full of thrill and mystery. It also is an exciting one for readers
who like adventure. It is about five friends in Mouseford Academy who have
got a prize for their project. It is a ticket for each of them to Turkey where
they will work in the ruins and discover ancient things. They meet a friend
there and they work together till something unexpected happens….What
next?
This book by the Italian author Elisabetta Dami is as thrilling as it may
sound by the title. I liked it because of its ability to keep me interested like
any other good book. I recommend this to everyone. And it helped me
known a lot of new words.

BEAUTY OF LIFE THROUGH THE EYES OF A
VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILD

The world is beautiful, I began to found
My vision is dark, but connect through sound
Watching everything with the eyes that are blind
Imagining everything with the eyes of my mind
Hoping one day to see the beauty of life
I feel the gentle breeze flowing by my side
Listening to the soft melody of birds
Wishing to see everything without someone’s words
A will to fly high and touch the sky
I am blind but I have the most curious eye
My dreams and reality is still far away
It’s awesome in my own way
I got best sensory hands and curious mind
With two beautiful eyes, I don’t call myself blind
Everyday of my life is a beautiful journey
Every moment of my day is purely serenity.

SCHOOL MEMORIES RUPANYA KASHYAP

Sweet and melodic chimes of early days IX-SHIVALIKS

Were better than ring bells school plays

Casual fun and carefree kindergarten time

I try to live somehow in school break time

Unloading homework and sleeping late every night

Waking up early morning remembering dreamy sight

Rushing and hushing, up and go get ready

Holding books and bags walking un-steady

Why Time passes in blink, me landing school late

End up standing in que as punishment, I hate

Forgets the pain in company of lovely friends

Sitting and chatting together is never ending trend

Laughter and playing never hinder gaining knowledge

Teachers love and smiles always injects courage

Sharing our lunch box is beyond a pledge

Takes away any fight or any hidden grudge

Those small in between breaks of classes are the best

Noise of laughter and shouts sound as chirpiest

I forget exams and burden of homework as day ends

Sweet memories of these school days must never end

ALEX’S ADVENT IN TECHNOPIA
Along the shores of Mediterranean Sea lived a boy, called Alex. He lived inside a
yellow-coloured tent on the beach. The beach presented a picturesque view, especially
during the sunset when the sun was about to descend down the horizon. One day while
roaming on the beach, he found a bottle half-buried in the sand. Alex was surprised to
find a map inside the bottle. That map showed a path leading to the cave. Alex was
familiar with that cave but he never dared to venture inside as he always had a fear that a
ghost would suddenly pop out of the rocks. But now he was very curious and wanted to
explore. The next day he decided to go into the cave and face his fears with courage. He
had a lamp in his left hand and a water bottle in his right hand. Without any fear or
inhibition, he stepped in. To his astonishment, the cave seemed to be an endless tunnel.
After almost 10 minutes he came across a jewel made from pure gold. He decided to
keep the jewel perceiving that it may come in handy later. After walking steadily, he saw
a huge metallic door. There was a heavy box in front of the door. It struck him that the
jewel might act as a key to open the door. So, he took out the jewel and kept the jewel in
the depression of the box. Alex didn’t believe his eyes but the door was a gateway to a
portal leading to a different world altogether. The world he discovered was brimming
with a lot of technological equipment and had a lot of greenery all around. He walked
through that portal. Sometime later, he entered the planet known as Technopia. A robot
welcomed Alex and said,” We had been waiting for you, my highness.” The Technopians
believed that whoever walked through that portal would be their king. In this manner,
Alex became the king of Technopia and it was an advent to a totally bizarre world.

HOPE: FROM GLOOM TO BLOOM SOHANA SINGH

We are all going through difficult times,
But with faith, courage and patience we
can always unwind.
In spring, flowers and plants bloom,
And this keeps away the gloom.
The same way, do what you love and
never give up,
Always learn to keep the spirits up.
There are many gloomy situations,
That happen in our nation.
Instead of worrying about those,
Focus on what you want to achieve in life,
And be inspired by those ambitious

Let there be hope and light,
Gloom to bloom will be a wonderful sight.

MUSIC MAESTRO A.R RAHMAN

A.R. Rahman does not need and introduction. His name itself speaks about himself. The
first Indian who won 2 Oscars in 2009 at the same time for the same movie! Slumdog
movie has been like a career turn around for him. He plays each and every instrument so
well. I don't think there is any instrument that he can't play . His father died at a very
young age and his mother then led his career. His mother used to guide him wherever he
used to go. First Rahman wanted to be a scientist and had more inclination towards
electronics but his mother found his potential and guided him in the correct direction and
now he is the biggest musician of the world . He is one of the top selling recording artists
of the year . Time magazine has honoured him with the title “Mozart of Madras” and
several Tamil critics have coined the nickname ‘Isai Puyal’ (meaning ’music storm’ ) . So
much of success is around his because of the hard work he did . I have written this article
as it is really brainstorming to know about people who have done wonders in life but they
started from a very small background . All the great musicians and sportspersons , actors
have such an inspirational journey . They are the role models for several people . The
learning we get is that all the great people had so many difficulties in his/her life but still
they came up to be very talented and are very well known by almost all people now .

THE MOVING PICTURE

One bright June morning a girl named Dasha woke up to get a glass of water. As she
was sipping on the water, she noticed the picture of her mom which was beside her
bed was suddenly changing faces and postures. She had the picture right next to her
because she was inspired to be like her mom who was a scientist working in NASA.
“Oh! my God. This is scary”, Dasha exclaimed! She immediately locked up the
moving picture in a dark room, though she loved her mom very much. As she was
closing the door of the dark room, she heard the picture say “oh my Dasha, please
don’t lock me up in this dark room”. Dasha was really frightened now and started
running and left the house.
After Dasha thought about what was happening, she decided to go in the house and
talk to the picture. After all, it was her mother!
When she entered, she was shivering like she was in Shimla without any warm
clothes. She opened the door and stared at the moving picture. Dasha said “Hi mom, is
it really you, why are u crying?”
The picture replied in a soft tone “ Oh! hi there Dasha I dint notice you there”
Dasha said to the picture “I would like to know why you are crying mom?” then the
picture replied “well I want to help you become a scientist, which you always wanted
to be since you were a child. Well said Dasha “you are inside the frame so how are
you going to help me?”. The picture replied “all I can do right now is work with you
on an interesting idea for your project that inspires you! You were born to be like me
and help the world”.
After chatting a bit, they decided that they will invent a car called the
ENVOFRIENDLY car. This car is environment friendly. It requires no oil and does not
pollute the air. There are two buttons present in this car, one is for sprouting out crop
seeds which will fall on the soil and germinate. The second button will sprinkle water
which will help the seeds germinate. After Dasha worked hard for about a month, the
car was made successfully and was working perfectly!
“YAY mom the car is done” Dasha said to the picture. To her amazement, there was no
reply from the picture this time. Dasha tried talking to the picture for many times in a
day, hoping there will be an answer, but there was not. Finally, she realized it was just
her wild imagination. But in all this, she learnt that when we aspire and work hard, we
achieve what we dream of and what we deserve!

In this world of false appearances,

We care so much about what other people think,
We change ourselves to cater to their needs,
Without their criticism I think,
Who am I?
What am I supposed to be?

I wore a mask out of fear,

But now it is just force of habit,

I have been so many people,
I don’t know who I am without it.

Every day I wear a different mask,
Sporting a new identity each day,
Thinking how can people judge me
If they don’t have anything to say?

I don’t let one identity stay there for too long,
I can’t let one category govern me too long,
I must change, I have to is what I say to myself,
But this is yet another ruse to keep me from discovering myself.

Why am I so afraid of me being me,

Why am I so afraid of what people think of me?
I guess I’ve left fate in the hands of society,

But this has resulted in nothing but long drawn anxiety.

Enough, I want to say
I want to stop this charade,
But who am I kidding?

DRAGON EGG BATH BOMB CRAFT

“When its time to get your fairest, these fabeously fizzy dragon egg bath bombs
will transform bath time into one spectacular soak.”
What you’ll need
Plastic egg (to use as a mould)
Gloves
1 cup baking soda
½ cup citric acid
½ cup Epsom salt
Blue food colouring
Red food colouring
2 teaspoons lavender oil (essential)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large bowl
3 small bowls
Whisk

The steps
In a bowl, mix the baking soda, citric acid and Epsom salt. Add the olive oil, one
tablespoon at a time and mix well.
Now add the lavender oil mixing well after each teaspoon. Don’t let the mixture
become too moist in one spot or it will fizz before you want it too.
Divide the mixture into 3 separate bowls. In one bowl, add 1 drop of blue food
colouring. In the next, a drop of red (to get pink). In the third add one drop of
each blue and red food colouring to make purple. Mix well to evenly incorporate
the colours.
Gently pack a bit of the purple mixture into one side of the of the mould, then
blue and then pink. This will create a multicoloured effect to your egg.
Make sure you pack each side of mould generously (let them overflow slightly
so that the mixture can stick to itself).
Press together for 15 sec and then gently unmould. Let the eggs dry for at least
an hour.

Subject : Vote of thanks for Rishit’s journey in Grade I
(Nightingales)

Respected mam,
I would like to extend my heartiest regard to Rishit’s class teacher Nitika ma’am
(Grade I – Nightingales) for her polite, sensible and overwhelming love for the kids
in Grade I during the unexpected tough time of COVID pandemic, which was never
experienced before. The way she was handling the kids during online classes was
really commendable. Journey of online classes were totally new for the kids as well as
for the school administration, teachers and parents. But the smoothness of the process
made everything joyful and meaningful for the kids. It forces me to write you for such
an amazing experience.
I would like to thank you Principal ma’am for your guidance, your core
committee for processing and special thanks to Nitika mam for her outstanding
execution.
My regard to Divya ma’am, Tulika ma’am, Sadaf ma’am, PT sir, Music sir & ma’am,

Dear Principal and esteemed headmistresses,

The Covid pandemic has affected the entire world from public to private sectors, large
corporates to small/micro businesses, universities/schools and all of us are impacted
with losses on both personal or professional fronts. While we're all doing whatever we
can to deal with this and help each other out, I would like to thank Lotus valley and
it's leadership in helping the impacted families during these difficult times.

From waiving off part of the development fees to providing free education to children
who have lost a parent, such measures help everyone impacted and demonstrates the
generosity and compassion of Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon.

Thank you once again for this gesture.
Regards,
Ravneet and Shweta Singh.

Appreciation note for Ms. Itey Wadhwa - CT Grade I/Hummingbirds

Dear ma’am,
Hope you and your family are doing well. I am a parent of Riyana Singh. She is the student of Ms.
Itey Wadhwa of Grade I/Hummingbirds.
I am writing this email to express my heartfelt gratitude to Itey Wadhwa ma’am for being such an
amazing and dedicated teacher. She is so compassionate and patient with kids and has bonded
extremely well with kids in such a short span of time with her positivity and resilience. Her
conceptual understanding of subjects is meticulous and kids are building a strong foundation under
her mentorship. Even in the absence of second teacher, she was able to single handedly manage the
class exceptionally well. It was very thoughtful of her to call Riyana few times during summer
vacations to catch up on Riyana's health as Riyana was unwell before vacations.

I am confident Riyana and other kids will shine under her guidance and support.

Thank you so much ma’am for giving us such a wonderful teacher.

Regards
Shweta Singh - Mother of Riyana Singh

Thank you for extending support towards families that got
affected by Covid-19

Respected Mrs. Malhotra,
I am Khushi and Vaanya Bhutani’s father. It recently came to my knowledge that you have really
gone above and beyond to support the families, who have lost their loved ones during second wave
and waived off the school fee for kids to ensure that they can pursue their education without worry. I
personally feel that this is a great example of humanity and empathy for people who were impacted
and not all the people can think and act the way you did.

I was myself part of the various support groups across NCR supporting families during the
pandemic and that’s why I do understand the situation and pressures you must have gone through to
do what’s “Right”. Think of it, how many people can really rise themselves from protecting the
community and you are one of them.

Thank you is not enough; however, I would still like to really share my gratitude for such an
amazing gesture. I am extremely humbled and grateful for your support.

Please do let me know should you require any support, or you would want me to volunteer in any
initiative for kids at school.
Thanks & Regards

Mohit Bhutani
