Peer Moderator Session on ‘Suicide
Prevention Month’
Suicide Prevention Month was celebrated
at Lotus Valley International School,
Gurugram, to promote awareness and to
facilitate students to navigate through
their problems. It was time to come
together with collective passion and
strength to discuss how “just one
conversation can change a life”.
Psychology Club learners created a
trusting environment for grades XI
and XII peers by talking about the
risk factors that lead to suicidal
attempts and ways to approach a
suicide crisis. Myths and facts about
suicides were also discussed. They
provided a suicide prevention advice
WAIT (Watch out, Ask, It will pass
and Talk to others). Learners and
teachers shared their stories of times
when they felt low and what they did
to cope up with their feelings.
Overall, the session led by students
was enriching and aided in bringing
clarity of thoughts in all participants.
