INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC BAG FREE DAY Grades Pre Nursery – III 3 rd July, 23 INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC BAG FREE DAY Grades Pre Nursery – III 3 rd July, 23 ‘Plastic Pollution free world is not a choice, but a commitment to life- a commitment to the next generation.’ As humans continue to embrace the widespread use of plastic, there is growing concern that plastic might become an integral part of future generations' lives, causing long-lasting and destructive impacts surpassing even nuclear weapons. The school took a proactive step to raise awareness about the harmful effects of single-use plastic bags by organizing various activities on 'International Plastic Bag Free Day' on July 3 rd , 2023. For the Pre-primary and Primary Grades, educators used different methods to convey the message of reducing plastic consumption. The youngest learners in Pre-nursery and Nursery demonstrated the use of eco-friendly products through a play. Grade Prep learners emphasized the significance of reusable bags by creating cloth bags and chanting slogans. Likewise, the learners of Grade I actively engaged in a 'Plastic-free Talk Show,' advocating for sustainable alternatives. Meanwhile, Grade II learners discussed the negative impacts of single-use plastic and expressed their vision for a world free from plastic through poster creations. Grade III learners brainstormed to understand the true impact of plastic and pledged to reduce their plastic usage. By celebrating 'International Plastic Bag Free Day,' the school not only educated the learners about the detrimental effects of plastic pollution but also inspired them to take small yet meaningful steps towards creating a sustainable future. The aim is to break free from the dependency on plastic for the benefit of future generations, as they hold the key to a better and more environmentally conscious world.

KEEPING FIT WITH YOGA & PHYSICAL EDUCATION Grades Pre Nursery - III “Whenever body is strengthened, so is the mind’ Someone once said, if we as humans were supposed to stay at one place, God would have given us roots! The quote suggests that humans are naturally designed to move, indicating that a sedentary lifestyle can negatively impact our daily functioning. To promote overall well-being and holistic development, our educational approach includes a variety of physical activities such as Physical Education, Yoga, Skating, and swimming. These activities are carefully designed and taught by skilled mentors to suit different age groups. In the early years, our focus is on enhancing gross motor skills and agility through enjoyable activities like Monkey walk, Kangaroo Jump, Bunny hop, and balancing games. As learners progress to Grades I-III, they engage in Cooperative Activities, learning basic Cricket skills, and performing Calisthenics exercises for endurance and flexibility. Yoga is introduced as a fun practice for young learners, incorporating physical postures, breathing exercises, and mindfulness through story-based, transportation, and animal-themed poses like gate pose, flower pose, butter fly pose, table and chair pose, and sun pose. As learners advance to Primary grades, the complexity of yoga poses increases. Swimming is offered as a low-impact, full-body workout to improve cardiovascular health, muscle strength, and joint agility, and is thoroughly enjoyed by our Primary Grade learners. Skating is another sport integrated into our curriculum, helping learners improve their overall fitness levels and engaging various muscle groups. In Grades I-III, learners are taught various skills such as tapping, forward walking, sideways walking, bending, and gliding on skates during the initial part of the session.
