Summer Enrichment Work Grades Nursery - III Summer Enrichment Work is like a compass guiding us through the break, keeping our minds engaged and our curiosity alive. Summer enrichment activities provide learners with the opportunity to acquire new knowledge beyond their regular academic curriculum. Engaging in these meaningful activities during the summer break helps combat the loss of learning, strengthens the bond between parents and children, facilitates hands-on learning, and prepares learners for future challenges. Following this approach, we are dedicated to offering summer enrichment tasks that encourage continuous learning and the development of essential skills. For our curious Pre-Nursery learners, the enrichment program was thoughtfully designed to instil positive habits as well as enhance fine and gross motor skills. These activities provided hands-on experiences that connected the learners with their cultural roots. Similarly, our enthusiastic Nursery learners were involved in projects aimed at cultivating awareness and responsibility towards the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting healthy eating habits and nurturing physical wellbeing. The eager Grade I learners were engrossed in activities that provided them with a platform to acquire new skills during their summer vacation. Through vibrant pictures and class presentations upon returning to school, our learners shared glimpses of their joyful holiday experiences while engaging in the assigned tasks. The theme-based summer enrichment work for Grade II centered around the movie 'Finding Nemo.' This allowed learners to dive into Nemo's adventures by solving mazes, completing crosswords, preparing nutritious treats, researching the causes of water pollution, and brainstorming solutions alongside Nemo. Their creative output was showcased through captivating and informative comic strips.Likewise, our accomplished Grade III learners delved deeper into SDG 14: Life Under Water, integrating SDG concepts with academics and practical activities. Driven by a curiosity about the ocean, our learners conducted research on various marine species, contributing to their profound understanding of ocean life. They even designed a device to combat water pollution and protect marine fauna. Furthermore, this thirst for aquatic knowledge was evident through the creation of pocket dictionaries highlighting seafloor organisms, as well as impressive models and artworks depicting underwater life. Our Summer Enrichment Work served as a bridge between school and home, ensuring that the flame of learning continued to burn brightly even during the vacation period.

Celebrating the essence of fatherhood and acknowledging fathers’ significant influence in our lives, the Pre-Primary Grades of the school hosted a special event called 'WOW DAD-DATTITUDE and DAD-VENTURES' on July 20th, 2023. The occasion was filled with a variety of activities aimed at honouring and creating unforgettable moments for the incredible dads. The festivities began with Pre-Nursery learners dancing joyfully to the song 'Better when I'm dancing,' warmly welcoming their fathers. The fathers of Grade Nursery learners were touched to see their little ones perform a heartwarming song, which moved them deeply. They then participated in the delightful 'Swift Swap' activity, where father-child duos showcased their talents through enactments, dances, songs, and magic tricks, bringing out the fun and bonding between them. In another engaging activity named 'Tip toe, here you go,' fathers lovingly carried their children on their shoulders and walked along a pattern drawn on the floor, reaching the finishing line with joy and excitement. The school corridors were adorned with tie crafts lovingly made by the tiny tots, and the fathers received charming blue badges as tokens of love. The Grade Prep learners rejoiced as the Dad Squad engaged in interesting and entertaining activities like the 'Quiz Me' game, where they answered quiz questions about their children, strengthening their bond even further. The highlight of the event was the 'DAD FAM JAM' activity, where fathers showcased their hidden talents, danced, and performed with their children, exuding pure joy and delight. Adding to the fun, the fathers transformed their daughters into little divas by styling their hair with various hair accessories and participating in the 'Dad Stylist' and 'Walk to Impress' activities, where they walked the ramp together. THIRD LANGUAGE SESSIONS Grade III Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things, but learning another way to think about things. At Lotus Valley, we recognize the crucial role of language in shaping children's cognitive development. We are dedicated to promoting global communication, as we believe that learning a foreign language not only enriches cultural awareness but also cultivates tolerance for ambiguity and enhances competence. Our enthusiastic Grade III learners were introduced to two of the world's most widely spoken languages, Spanish and French, during the month of July. Our team of language experts familiarized learners with the origins of these languages and provided insights into the regions where they are prominently used. This was followed by lessons on fundamental concepts such as numbers and alphabets. Learners were taught greetings in both Spanish and French as well as engaged in word identification games and quizzes designed to reinforce the learning process. An exposure to the languages being offered by the school will also empower learners to make a cognizant choice for the next academic session. Recognizing that language serves as a cultural guide, our introduction of foreign languages instils open-mindedness and empathy in learners. By exposing them to diverse perspectives and ways of life, this endeavour fosters a broader understanding of the world around them.
