Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to convey congratulations to the Telugu
Association of North America (TANA) on the occasion of the 22nd biennial na-
tional conference in Washington D.C. held July 4-6, 2019.

TANA has been registered in the State of Maryland since 1977, serving more
than fifteen thousand members across the continent. The biennial national con-
vention exhibits the social, intellectual, and cultural aspects of Telugu people
from across the United States.

I want to congratulate all board members, staff, and volunteers of TANA who
have dedicated their time and energy to host a successful convention. In particu-
lar, I applaud Mr. Satish Vemana, the President of the TANA; Dr. Venkata Rao
Mulpuri, Coordinator of TANA Convention; and Dr. Adapa V Prasad, Chair of
the Political Forum for your visionary leadership. Thank you for your service to
keep the vibrant Telugu culture alive in our great State of Maryland.

We honor your efforts to ensure the Telugu population of Maryland, and across
the United States, is well represented. Our administration looks forward to fu-
ture collaborations to preserve the Telugu culture here in Maryland.

Sincerely,

Dear Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the Telugu Association of
North America (TANA) on the 22nd Annual TANA Conference.

This conference plays an instrumental role in the Telugu Community
in the United States. Community leaders, politicians, professionals,
students, and more will come together to celebrate, learn, and collabo-
rate. With this year’s theme being, “Ikyata - Naipunyam and
Purogamanam,” or Unity, Skill and Progress, I know that the conver-
sations and events will be productive and inspiring to all those who
attend.

Thank you for the hard work you all do in your communities and please
accept my best wishes for continued success.

Sincerely,

Tim Kaine

Dr. Venkatrao Mulpuri

Coordinator
22nd TANA Conference Comittee

Dear All:

First, I want to invite you and your family for TANA 22 bi-annual conference in Washington,
DC. TANA conferences have become venues for the Telugu families and friends living across
North America to meet and spend quality time for three days. In the 22nd conference there is
something relevant for every family member. We have tried very hard to provide you with a very
interesting program on all three days. In the artistic front, we are showcasing for the first time
'Kurukshetram' Rayabaram scene, with Telugu padyam and English dialogue, so that our youth
can understand what is going on in the play while enjoying the musical melody of Telugu padyam.
All the characters in this play are enacted by Telugu youth born in America. TANA wants to play
a key role in taking Telugu padyam to international stage. Another important part of the program
is 'American Political Forum', which will be held for the first time in a TANA conference. We
invited prominent leaders of both political parties in US, to bring awareness among Telugus in
US about the importance of political participation in their adopted land. Many Indians, in gen-
eral, follow American politics on daily basis but do not want to participate in it actively. This is
the time for Telugus across US to participate actively in local, state and national level politics so
that the governments reflect what they believe in.

I want to thank: the entire executive body of TANA for choosing me as the coordinator of this
conference; all committee chairs, co-chairs and members, who are working tirelessly for mak-
ing the conference a big success; all donors for their generous contributions, without which
running this conference is not possible; leadership of other national Telugu organizations and
the Greater Washington, DC area Telugu organizations for extending their helping hand for
making this conference a huge success. TANA 2019 conference will be an example of what
Telugus can achieve with unity. I want to acknowledge the hard work of TANA India team and
TANA well-wishers in India for bringing the artists from India and also for finding the sponsors.

Lastly, I want to thank all the attendees for believing in TANA and its mission. I also urge you to
be an active participant in all TANA and other association's activities in your local community.

Dr. Venkata Rao Mulpuri

Dr. Naren Kodali

Chairman
22nd TANA Conference

Dear Patrons, TANA well-wishers and Friends,

The ecstatic festivities that are unfolding as you collect the souvenir are a testimony to the power of exemplary
and unique leadership compounded with complex and coordinated team effort. TEAM DC collectively worked
as a cohesive syndicate with logistics, effectiveness and efficiency and now deliver finished product with
confidence.

Despite financial and infrastructural challenges of conducting a conference of the magnitude of TANA in the
capital of the world, our vision never wavered and we as a team never lost focus for one singular reason - trust
in our able leader - Satish Vemana garu and his ability to mobilize people and create a cohesive and energetic
coalition of donors and volunteers with the unparalleled commitment to succeed. The prolonged hard work in
conducting this event involved choosing the right talent and clearly communicating the deliverables by engag-
ing them in a passionate discussion and letting them know that their ideas, hard work and commitment would
long outlive the conference and be permanently etched in the minds of the Telugu brethren in the DC Metro area
forever. The collective effort of the conference teams under the supervision and guidance of the President has
yielded significantly big-dollar contributions as well as grass root level donations based on the brand and effi-
cient services offered by TANA in many small communities all around North America. The invitees list is an
ensemble of the most popular proponents and stalwarts of various fields without compromise. The cultural,
literary, women's forum, alumni, CME, business, youth and spiritual seminars and Srinivasa Kalyanam (with
deities and priests from Tirupati) are each individually so imposing and overpowering that they posed a great
challenge with the schedule as we tried to minimize parallel events to provide comprehensive multifaceted
entertainment to all our patrons.

Our theme "Ikyata, Naipunyam and Purogamanam" is intended to exhibit the strength and force of the unified
and skilled Telugu community leading to steady progress. In my opinion, the 22nd TANA Conference will shift
the focus and dynamic of the hardworking, educated, affluent and diverse Telugu population as a force to reckon
with in both American society and politics. TANA has set a gold standard in serving and contributing to the
society at large propagating Telugu culture and heritage in North America and giving back to the Telugu states
by generously contributing their hard earned money to social, medical, educational and infrastructural develop-
mental needs.

As we lead our daily lives in our respective professions we all fail to relish the beauty of human bonding with
thousands of others like us who have made this great country their second home. I hope the 22nd TANA Confer-
ence will be that venue that will provide an actionable opportunity to rejuvenate ourselves to cope with the daily
challenges that are part of our lives as citizens and immigrants of this country. I take this opportunity to heartfully
thank Satish Vemana garu for trusting in me and providing me the great opportunity to serve as the Chairman of
the Conference and Committee Chairs and volunteers for patiently bearing with me as I offered direction and
advice for the last many months and teaching me the power of good positive collaborative energy and becoming
an inseparable part of my family.

Once again, thank you for attending the conference and please experience and enjoy the well-planned activities
and enable and embolden TANA to continue is selfless and relentless service.

Dr. Naren Kodali

Dr. Prasad Nalluri TANA foundation has been serving people of Telugu states as well

Chairman as USA for the past 40 plus years with great enthusiasm for the peo-
TANA Foundation ple who cant help themselves. I would like to take this opportunity to
Thank TANA donors and its volunteers for the efforts and the dona-
tions. We realized that transfer and share the knowledge what we
acquired in addition to donating money will be a requirement in the
future as many parts of the world, lack of money is not a only a
solitary problem.

We are able to launch CPR(COLS) awareness program for the first
responders, students, teachers and others in both the Telugu states.
The program was so successful that even the other organizations rec-
ognized the need for CPR training to save lives, the CPR training
program and education reached out to several thousand people, it
became a very good public health message. We anticipate that the
governments of AP and Telangana will take over and help teaching
these programs and we are here to help giving needed advise going
forward. This is an important milestone where the governments rec-
ognized the knowledge/advise from NRIs instead of seeking only
donations. We hope that knowledge transfer from NRI's is more ef-
fective and prudent in addition to the donations.

Thanks to Dr. Lokesh Edara and Dr. Rajendra Kakarla for the finan-
cial support an the wisdom to carry forward it the remote areas in AP
and Telangana.

TANA foundation was able to help raising funds for Cancer screen-
ing bus fully equipped with the help of Sri Bapiraju Mullapudi, ZP
chairman west Godavari district. I thank all the Donors.

I am confident that TANA foundation with the help of its donors will
continue to do a lot of good programs in the future.

I thank all the foundation trustees for their hard work and I thank all
the donors from the bottom of my heart.

Dr. Prasad Nalluri

Ravi Gourineni

Deputy Coordinator
22nd TANA Conference Comittee

Let’s Cherish & Celebrate…

As we all began our journey to North America many years ago and started adapting the American way

of life, it is paramount that we preserve, instill and celebrate our Telugu Culture, History & Heritage.
Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has been instrumental in taking up this humungous task
and the Biennial TANA Conferences have played a key role in accomplishing this.

Our team is honored to host the 22nd edition of the TANA Conference in Washington DC. On behalf of
the Greater Washington Telugu Community, I would like to sincerely thank Satish Vemana garu,
President, TANA and the rest of the TANA Leadership in entrusting us with this great responsibility.

The vibrant and ecstatic environment that is unfolding around you and will continue for the next 3
days, is the tireless and collective effort of 600+ volunteers and all their families that have spent the
past six months working diligently to ensure that you all have best experience at the 22nd TANA
Conference. Several of our volunteers and Committee Chairs, including me, had the opportunity of
working for the 16th TANA Conference held at the same venue, which to-date is considered to be the
best TANA Conference ever. Learning from those experiences, we have designed and ready to execute
this event seamlessly. Despite all the efforts, it is always possible for some activities to not go as
planned. In such situations, we humbly request you to pardon us with a big heart and allow us to rectify
the issue at the earliest.

There is no other place to be on July 4th weekend than Washington DC. And with over 12,000+ expected
in attendance, there is no other event to attend than the 22nd TANA Conference. We have made all the
arrangements for you and your family to have the best experience this weekend. Starting with authentic
Telugu “Vantakaalu”, 3 Musical nights, mesmerizing cultural programs, thought provoking panel
discussions and spiritual discourses, invigorating Yoga camps, enlightening Literary Sessions, Business
Forums and most of all the presence of and opportunity to meet several celebrities will provide a
comprehensive entertainment and fulfillment to all in attendance.

The grandeur of the state-of-the-art Washington Convention Center coupled with decorations that
reflect the Telugu culture and traditions are a visual treat to all the attendees. On behalf of the Conference
Committees, I invite you all to participate, engage and celebrate everything the 22nd TANA Conference
has to offer in the next 3 days!!!

With best regards,
Ravi Gourineni
