6.2 Electric
6.2.1 General notes
You can find detailed information about used motors and servo
amplifiers in the IndraDrive documentation ... and motor Type
MSK ... Bosch Rexroth.
The supply voltage (24 V) of maXYmos NC or of the IndraDrive
control unit must be switched on at the same time.
Observe the specifications of the BG and trade organizations dur-
ing construction.
6.2.2 Safety notes
Check all components (especially electrical components and ca-
bles) for external damage or defects before assembly. Damaged
or defective components must not be installed.
Work on the electrical equipment must only be performed by
electro technical specialists.
When working on the electrical system of the NC joining system,
this must be disconnected from the mains and secured against
unauthorized activation/reactivation.
High Voltage
When working on the electrical equipment of the NC joining
module, there isdanger of electrical shock, therefore:
• Only suitably trained, specialized personnel should perform
work on the electrical equipment, in accordance with electri-
cal engineering regulations.
• Pay especial attention to the intermediate circuit terminals.
The machine frame or joining module must be grounded before
commissioning and before it is switched on for the first time. The
shield of the motor cable must be attached to the IndraDrive for
this purpose.

5 Ventilation for cooling
Make certain that the built-in servo amplifiers (possibly with ac-
cessory) are adequately cooled. Inadequate cooling can lead to
power reduction or thermal shutdown.
• Do not place monitors on top of each other.
• Do not build cable channels directly in front of the ventilation
openings (especially on the exhaust side).
• Select cabinet size and ventilation according to the thermal
load.

6.2.13 Connection servo amplifier/NC joining module
High voltage
For tasks on the electrical equipment of the NC joining module
there is a danger of electrical shock, therefore:
• Only suitably trained, specialized personnel should perform
work on the electrical equipment, in accordance with electrical
engineering regulations!
• Pay especial attention to the intermediate circuit terminals.
These can still be dangerous after the devices are disconnected
from the mains!
For details, please refer to the Bosch Rexroth IndraDrive doc-
umentation. Failure to follow the instructions and rules of the
documentation may result in personal injury and/or damage of
the joint mechanics.
The power specifications should be observed.

HCS02.1 Shield connections must always be connected according to the In-
draDrive instruction manual before the first power-on. This is also
the case for the brake resistors. This relates to the drive controllers
HCS03.1 that do not have an integrated brake resistor.
The intermediate circuit must not be connected to other drive
controllers.
Use at least 10 mm2 copper cross-section for this protective con-
ductor connection along its entire course.

The motor holding brake is supplied by the drive controller HCS02.1 or HCS03.1 itself.
An external supply of the control voltage of 24 V across the tracks is mandatory the drive
controller HCS03.1.
The motor holding brake is not safely controlled in accordance
with the safety technology standards.

The leads must be routed in a star shape directly from
the voltage source in the common power source for
brakes and control voltage supply.
Bridging from the power supplies to the servo am-
plifier is not allowed! The use of distributor terminal
strips is not recommended.
The NC joining module NCFN can be equipped with an optional
safety brake. The control of this does not take place via the servo
amplifier, but must be done by the higher-level safety controller
(PL e).

mentation.

The release monitoring prevents starting of the drive motor against the closed brake. A signal
analysis of the two switching states must be made by the customer.
The functionality of the safety brake* must be tested and evalu-
ated cyclically.
Activate the brake test of the safety brake to predefined torque.
The test procedure, the test torque and the test interval must be
set by the system manufacturer.

Depending on how the NC joining module is used, it may be nec-
essary to check the safety brakes at regular intervals.
The test interval must be determined by the machine manufac-
turer.
Feedback contacts of the safety brakes are wear parts and need
to be serviced or replaced by the brake manufacturer if necessary.
