The Department of Zoology, V.O.Chidambaram College signed an MoU with the
Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi affiliated to Tamilnadu
Dr.J.Jayalalitha Fisheries University on 27.05.2020. The main objective of the MoU
is to exchange information pertaining to academic research carried out in the
institutions and student, faculty exchange programme. The MoU will also facilitate a
joint design and work on new research projects in the field of marine Zoology.

 The Principal, Dr. C. Veerabahu signed an MoU with Confederation of
Indian Industry (CII) - Young Indans(YI).

 The objective of the MoU is to offer placements for the students and to

The Department of Zoology, V.O.Chidambaram College set a milestone by becoming the
first department in the college to have compiled an online blog. The Blog was opened to the
public by the Chief Guest, Dr.A.Francis, Former Principal, V.O.Chidambaram college in
the presence of Dr.C.Veerabahu, Principal of the college on the occasion of the 37th
Founder 's Day observed on the 13th of August 2019. The Principal congratulated the
initiative taken by the Head of the Department and the faculty of the Department of
Zoology for their efforts to compile the blog and make it available for public use.

The Principal , Dr. C. Veeraba hu h as ta ken a great initiative for all the depart ment of

the college to have Blogs. As per his direction, every department has created a blog to

keep the students informed of the evoluation of the department and also keep them abreast

with the later developments of both the department and the subject . 114

commenced ''The French course Al Level'' on the 25th of July, 2019 in

Chennai that conducts foreign language classes in French, German, Spanish,

Indian Small and Rural Biz Expo. Feb. 20 19 was organised
by the college in association with the Forum for Micro and Small Enterprise, Chennai (A
Unit of Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation) from 23.2.19 to 24.2.19. Mr.Sandeep
Nanduri, Collector, Thoothukudi District was part of the Expo. 50 plus stalls on different
small scale products and works on various micro entrepreneur topics were conducted.

V.O.Chidambaram College has been recognised as a local chapter for
SWAYAM, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education to give a
coordinated stage and free entry to web courses, covering all advanced
education. Right from its inception in the year 2019, nearly thousand students

Collaborative Skill Development Programmes

The College has established the Entrepreneurship and Career
Development Cell with a view to bridge the yawning gap
between the educational system and the career expectations of the
student community. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed
