2 G ERMAGLO LOTION

This germ simulation lotion is available in two strong invisible to neon colours
to enhance hand wash and hygiene demonstrations. This is a high quality
product sold directly to the NHS and many of the UK’s leading care home
organisations. Supplied complete with full training notes and guidance on use.
A 100ml bottle will give approx. 30 applications. Available in Blue or Green.
The formula is pH neutral and completely non-toxic. UV hand wash lotion will
enhance your training with a strong visual message encouraging good hand
and hygiene techniques. The invisible pigmentation requires a good quality
UVA blacklight for participants to view the ‘before and after ‘visual results.

be lightly coated before being passed between class participants. With
every interaction, some of the powder will invisibly pass from ball to hand,

Germaglo Powder is a safe and non-toxic invisible UV fluorescing powder
used by some of the leading care homes groups in the UK as well as the NHS.
Trainers use this product to create a strong visual message on the ease of germ
transfer between objects and people. For classroom and training environments,
students often pass around one of our GermaGlo balls to show how easily
inter-personal germs can transfer. Germaglo hand wash powder will fluoresce

The majority of our burettes are constructed of borosilicate INFO
glass, with ‘class A’ burettes offering the best accuracy
(for analytical work) along with traceability (each has its own PRODUCT
unique serial number).

There are many different styles of burette available but ultimately the choice is
down to personal preference, practicality, accuracy or price. The following is a
brief summary of some of the differences.

Types of Stopcock

Pinch clip burettes are an older and simpler design mainly used in education.

Glass key stopcocks are the traditional type and are preferred by some teachers
and technicians because of the smooth action, greater control and longer life than
PTFE key stopcocks. These usually require light lubrication, using Silicone grease.

PTFE key stopcocks are now the most frequently used because they do not need
any lubrication, are less likely to jam than glass stopcocks, and are regarded as a
lower maintenance option.

Modular PTFE key stopcocks are made entirely of PTFE and are particularly
suitable for schools as they are less delicate than the other types and all of the
parts are replaceable separately.

‘Rotaflo’ type burettes have a screw in/out PTFE key which allows for fine drop control.

Types of Graduation

Different colour graduations can be useful, depending on the colour of the
solution being titrated.

Blue graduations – good for general purpose use.

White graduations – useful when using dark coloured solutions.

Black or amber graduations – useful when using light coloured or clear
solutions.

ACRYLIC BURETTES

breakages are a problem. Acrylic is more robust than glass
and is suitable for most diluted aqueous solutions but NOT
alcohols or organic solvents.

D This useful washing/rinsing system allows pipettes and burettes to be automatically
rinsed when connected to a tap and drain outlet. Particularly useful where
E unpleasant or hazardous liquids have been used, the apparatus holds pipettes
and burettes up to 600mm in length. For convenience and flexibility, the washing/
rinsing system is available as separate components. 1. The polyethylene rinser/
washer fills via the spray nozzle on the top rim. Contaminated water will syphon
out totally, once the syphon point at the top of the rinser has been reached via the
large diameter drain situated at the lowest point, before refilling automatically.
2. During washing the pipettes/burettes are housed in a specially designed
basket, which minimise breakages as it buffers the glassware tips against the soft
polyethylene base. 3. A soaking jar is available, which will hold a pipette/burette
basket, to allow the glassware to soak before rinsing. Low water flow rate is NOT a
problem, but it is better to adjust the flow for a cycle of about 90 seconds.

This low cost chromatography card offers a cost effective way to carry out basic
chromatography or to allow students to practice chromatography spotting
techniques before moving on to the more expensive analytical papers. The card
can be easily cut into strips for use in beakers or gas jars etc.

A typical separation time for a mixture of CMY inkjet printer inks (for example)
should be about 5 minutes, to produce a separation column up to 50mm long.

Applications include: basic chromatography separation, forensic techniques,

This Daniel Cell is an example of a Primary Voltaic Cell. The apparatus

concentrated Hydrochloric acid (HCl) and then placing in a hot Manganese Light green / yellow green

until no colour comes off the wire in the flame. Concentrated Rubidium Red / red-violet
acid works best but diluted HCl can be used instead, although Sodium Orange / orange-yellow

Then the end of the wire or loop should be moistened again
in the acid, dipped into the sample being tested (so that some
sticks) and placed back into the Bunsen flame.

source and purity.

Flowcode Schools Edition (SE) is a function limited version of Flowcode 6 which
allows students to develop programs for microcontrollers and Windows
compatible PCs. Flowcode SE provides a great platform for learning about

MOWAY

2 M OWAY SCRATCH KIT

The mOway Scratch Kit is a new kit that includes everything you need to
control the mOway mini robot within the Scratch programming environment.
It contains:

• 1 x mOway mini robot
• 1 x RF module
• 1 x RF USB stick
• 1 x mOway World & mOway Scratch software*
• 1 x USB cable
mOway cleverly uses an Rf link and the mOway Scratch application for
controlling a mOway robot from the Scratch environment.

mOway is an autonomous programmable robot, that uses its own control
software, mOway World to create and download programmes into the robot.

Scratch is a visual OOP programming language developed by MIT as an
introductory code tutor. Scratch works on the screen using the language to
move sprites around a background. Scratch running on the raspberry pI can
also control the mOway robot.

The mOway Scratch kit includes the Rf connectivity (module & USB stick) that is
not included in the standard basic mOway robot kit.

The mOway robot can be controlled by Scratch, mOway World and
programmed by mOway World, C and assembler.

3 USB PROTOTYPE BOARD

The prototype board has been created to allow students to take designs from
schematic concept to realisation very quickly. It achieves this through a small
section of breadboard which allows students to create simple electronic circuits.
This breadboard is simple to interface with the microcontroller through two SIL
connectors providing access to all ports of the device. Breadboard also allows
flexibility at a design stage with students easily able to modify designs until they
have a working system. The system is powered and programmed via USB -
cable not included.
