Course Synopsis
The course aims at introducing students to the basic theories, principles and models
in human resource management. The focus will be on the various strategic
approaches that can be taken in managing human resource in an organization.
Special attention will be given to personnel management in the military where
discussions and case studies will be used to highlight the lessons.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Explain the theoretical knowledge and principles in Human Resource
Management (HRM).
2. Identify and analyse the main features of HRM policies and practices.
3. Understand the role HRM plays in the overall strategy of the firm.
4. Understand the many HR functions and how they relate to each other and to
firm strategy and effectiveness.

Course Synopsis
The course will provide students with the concepts of techniques and ethic involved
in conducting a negotiation which may be applied in daily and surrounding
environment in the military profession and civil organization. Students will be taught
negotiation theories approach and preparation in addressing conflict. Case studies
involving international peace agreement to will be used illustrate the process.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Explain basic concept knowledge and purpose of negotiation.
2. Understanding the importance and appropriate negotiation techniques.
3. Apply suitable theory and model effectively.
4. Apply negotiation techniques in real conflict occur in future.

Course Synopsis
The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge required in managing
civilian resources placed at the military disposal during war. Students will be broadly
taught the various aspects of sea, air and land transport management, the
management of essential services such as water and electricity and other resources.
Students will also be taught the concept of Jumlah defense as the key underlying
principle in war-time resource mobilisation.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Adopt the nature of resources mobilisation in war.
2. Comprehend the sequence and application of resource mobilisation in war
emphasis all aspects that resources available in the situation.
3. Acquire the awareness of resource mobilization in war.

Pre-requisite
Course Synopsis
This course will explain about the evidences of legal rules (adillat al-ahkam) agreed
by scholars. Sources of Islamic law is divided into two; primary sources and
secondary sources. The primary sources were agreed by the scholars in setting the
hukm while the secondary sources are differed among the scholars. As such,
students will be able to understand how the fiqh scholars' issue hukm based on
Islamic law sources. Besides, students will also study the agreement and dissent
among scholars in setting the hukm according to the suitability of time and
circumstances.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Justify the concept and the definition of sources of Islamic law.
2. Explain in detail regarding the distribution of the sources of Islamic law.
3. Explain the importance of Islamic legal resources in the context of setting
Islamic laws.
4. Analyze current issues regarding the implementation of new law in Islam.

this course is necessary to provide students with exposure to fiqh methods used for
issuing hukm purposes.

Course Synopsis
Maqasid Shariah and Legal Opinion is an important subject to be exposed to both
civilian and cadet students. This subject aims to increase knowledge and
understanding about the concept of Maqasid Shariah and legal opinion from the view
of its definition, the history of its development and its relation to other shariah
principles. At the same time the subject will expose the students with al-Ijtihad (legal
opinion) which is one of the sources of law to accommodate the ever changing human
needs of the times. Al-Ijtihad is one of the methods of contemporary law resources
that are always tied to the Islamic shariah framework which is capable of meeting the
needs of the general public.

At the end of this course students are able to:

Course Synopsis
This course describes the concepts and principles of communication from Western
perspectives and da’wah. The introduction of models and theories of communication
also touches from the perspective of da’wah. The focus of the discussion on the
methods and contexts of da'wah communication in establishing the concept of human
relations with Allah and human relationships with humans through vertical
communication and horizontal communication including interpersonal
communication, small group communication, communication management and mass
communication. In addition, the course also discusses the role of preacher as a
Muslim communicator.

The rationale of this course the student is exposed to provide an overview of the
science of terminologies of hadith (mustalahul hadith), its history and its importance.
In addition, students will also learn about the process of compiling Hadith, distinguish
between the science of Hadith Riwayah and Dirayah, studying the conditions of the
narrators and criteria used among muhaddithin, discussing the division of Hadith
Sahih, Hasan, Dhaif and Maudu’, evaluating the position of the hadith based on the
law and studying the generation of narrators.

procedures for the implementation of rituals and related fiqh laws during peace,
operations / training, disasters and wars. In addition, it also contains the solution from
the legal point of view to the legal issues in travel and emergency situations. The
subject will also provide exposure on purification procedures, fardu rituals and its
implementation procedures, circumcision and its implementation procedures and the
strengthening of the spiritual of every member of the army and uniform body. It aims
to reveal good management of worship based on existing knowledge according to
the current situation in which it is located.

Course Synopsis
The course aims is to expose student with the contemporary defence issues related
to life during peace, operations / training, disasters and wars. This course also to
equip students with legal settlement of contemporary defence issues during peace
situasion, operations / training, disasters and wars to military and uniformed
personnel. It also to prepare them on contemporary defense issues practically and
being able to relate this issue to other issues.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Explain contemporary defence issues related to life during peace,
operations / training, disasters and wars.
2. Explain the legal settlement of contemporary defence issues during peace
situasion, operations / training, disasters and wars to military and uniformed
personnel.
3. Practice on contemporary defense issues practically and being able to
relate this issue to other issues.

Course Synopsis
Kursus ini memberi pendedahan serta melahirkan pelajar sebagai Huffaz (hafiz dan
hafizah) yang mahir dalam pembacaan ilmu Al-Quran dan pengajian Islam bagi
memelihara kesucian dan kesahihan Al-Quran. Pelajar akan menghafal surah-surah
pilihan iaitu as-Sajdah, Yaa Sin, ar-Rahman, al-Waqiah, al-Mulk dan al-Insan. Kursus
ini juga melahirkan generasi Al-Quran yang bertaqwa, berilmu dan bermanfaat
kepada pembangunan negara dan ummah.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Mahir dalam pembacaan dan pengajian ilmu Al-Quran dan berkemahiran

Course Synopsis
This course discusses military fiqh that can be used by Malaysian Armed Forces staff
and uniformed bodies. It is an exposure to knowledge and skills that is very important
to students on practical matters involving questions and problems of fiqh. In addition,
the course also involves the application of ijtihad in Malaysia relating to defence and
security. It also discusses the global management of ijtihad and contemporary issues
related to defence & security.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course, student are able to:
1. Explain the science of fiqh and ijtihad related to defence and safety.
2. Explain the rules of the mujtahid scholars to issue a fatwa relating to
defense and security.
3. Analyzing the Hukm from the Al-Quran, Al-Hadith, Qiyas and Ijmak

This course will enable students to understand the characteristics of leadership of
Islamic military figures as outlined by the sources of the Quran and Sunnah. This is
because, leadership is the art of being in the real of person. However, how to polish
the leadership talents awarded by God based on the Quran and Sunnah. In the
military, the leaders who adhere to and implement the military ethics contained in the
Quran and the Sunnah will bring success in Islam. This is evidenced by the success
of Islamic militarians from the time of the Messenger of Allah to the Ottomans period.

necessary to equip students about the Quran and Hadith pertaining to the defence to
produce strong, mukmin and muhsin graduates.

Course Synopsis
This course discusses the treatment and medical from the Islamic perspective that is
based on the Quran and the Doa’ practiced by Prophet Muhammad SAW, Sahabah
and practitioners of Islamic medicine. Other than that, this course also are provide to
students to expose the greatness of the Quranic miracle and it is necessary to
practice in life as closer to God. The scope of the discussion in this course included
on basic introduction to Islamic medicine such as ethics of practitioners, verses of the
Quran, Zikr and Doa’ that known as the basis of the practice of students to strengthen
their spiritual and spiritual. The students will also be exposed to the knowledge of the
devil and how to pretend it. Besides that, the treatment of physical illness and the use
of natural resources will be introduced. At the end of the course, students will undergo
practical sessions to strengthen the learning and practice of students.

At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Explain the differences between the definition of Islamic medicine and the
definition of meditation, syirik and khurafat. Besides that, the studen are
able to know the ethic in Islamic medical and the introduction of jinn and
subtle creatures as well as signs of harassment to a person.
2. Explain about the method of treatment in Islam and how to treat the patient
by using the verses of the Quran, Zikr and Doa as a self prevented.
3. Explain about the type of physical illnesses, materials are used during
treatment and the method of treatment is implemented.

by most Armed Forces in the world nowadays. Besides that, this course also is to
explain the war strategy during the period of Prophet Muhammad SAW, Sultan
Salahudin Ayubi and Sultan Muhammad Al-fateh. In addition, this course also
provides knowledge on the principles of war and strategy of war, military concepts
and philosophies in Islam, military and defence in Islam, the arguments of consent
and warfare, as well as activities before, during and after a war organized in Islam in
preparation for becoming a leader in the future.

1. Explain the concept of military and defence philosophy in Islamic

Course Synopsis
This course is the culminating point of the undergraduate programme where students
are required to produce an academic paper or thesis on any topic related to the
subjects of defence human resource management. This course is the continuity of
academic paper proposal during Seminar in Defence Resources Management last
semester. The student already identified research topic for the paper and will be
assigned by supervisor. A viva-voce session will be held upon research report before
a complete undergraduate academic paper or thesis by the end of the course
semester.

Course Synopsis
This course is aimed at providing exposure and working experience to students in
line with the national Industrial Training Policy of the Ministry of Higher Education.
Students will be placed at defence-related institutions or industries such as the
Ministry of Defence, uniform organization, Imam and others. This exercise is as much
an effort to provide opportunities for students to apply the knowledge acquired
throughout their studies as to prepare them for the real life working environment.
Students will be required to produce a report based on their industrial training
experience as part of this training exercise.

prohibited by Allah SWT. Therefore, the philosophy of establishing a judicial system
in Islam is to reject any form of oppression and resolve disputes that exist among
Muslims. Nowadays, there are several Islamic legal flows that have been put under
the Islamic judiciary to implement legislation specifically designed for Muslims. In
Malaysia, the most important is the Family Law of Islam formed based on Nidzam al-
Usrah Fil Islam, the Islamic Family System which has also been placed under the
Islamic Judiciary as law enforcement. It is therefore a requirement for graduates of
Islamic studies to understand the concept of judicial in Islam to educate them to
understand the rules of the court in accordance with the Quran and as-Sunnah and
coupled with the knowledge of the Family Law of Islam. All of these are especially
important when they become the place of reference for other human beings who have
concerns about the rules of Islamic family law and Islamic judicial administration in
Malaysia.
Course Outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Explain the wisdom of marriage and the important of adhering to Islamic
law in family life.
2. Explain the method of the establishment for family institution based on
Islamic perspective.
3. Explain the rights and responsibilities of each individual to form a family
and the related hukm for it.
4. Explain the procedure of the dissolution of marriage and the hukm provided
after breakup of marriage.
5. Apply the theory of Islamic legal relate on family issue and how to solve
that issue recently.

to the informations delivered from the media. Moreover, students are exposed on the
weakness of media for causing the formations of narrow-minded thought towards
Islam and Muslim.

Course Synopsis
This course deals with the basic foundation of the Islamic ‘Aqidah within the context
of a holistic view of the universe, from the perspective of tawhid. The course also
stresses on the sources of ‘aqidah and its objectives. Within this framework, students
are expected to learn the methodology of reasoning in dealing with issues concerning
‘Aqidah. This course also aims at guiding students to grasp certain religious key-
concepts such as din, iman, ihsan, fitrah, truth, ikhtiyar and amanah.

At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Examine the various definition and terms related to Islamic ‘Aqidah.

Course Synopsis
Transaction subject in Islamic Muamalat system is a significant to be exposed to
students (Civilian/Cadet Officer) to increase their knowledge and understanding on
transaction in economic system as well as Islamic finance. The course provides the
knowledge of the differences between the normal transaction in business, banking
and current Islamic transaction with the conventional transaction. This course helps
the students to acknowledge that Islamic finance is an important thing not only from
the economic development of Muslims but it is also geared towards preparing for the
challenging economic world.

At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Explain the various form of economic transaction in the Islamic economic
