1.1. Fire dampers are shutters in ducts of air-conditioning devices that prevent spreading the fire and
combustion products from one fire segment to the other one by means of closing the duct in the
points of fire separating constructions.
Dampers blade automatically closes air duct using a shutting spring or an actuating mechanism
back spring. The shutting spring is started by releasing an initiation lever. The impulse for
releasing the lever can be either a manual one, a thermal one or an electromagnetic one. The
back spring of the actuating mechanism is started when the thermoelectrical starting mechanism
BAT is activated, when a reset button on BAT is pushed or when a power supply of the actuating
mechanism is stopped.
The damper is sealed with a silicon packing against smoke penetration after closing the blade. At
the same time, the damper blade is bedded in a material which enlarges its capacity and air
proofs the air duct.

Round dampers have one inspection hole, since the shutting device and the inspection hole can
be set into the most advantageous position (with respect to the operation and manipulation with
the control device).

1.1. Smoke extraction dampers - single are shutters in smoke exhaust piping systems. Dampers are
designed to remove heat and combustion products (e.g. smoke) from single fire compartment.
The damper blade is operated by an actuating mechanism. The dampers can be installed in
various duct sizes with respect to the field of direct applications according with EN 1366-9.
1.2. The field of direct applications based on tests results is acceptable according to EN 1363-1,
part A.1 and A.2, EN 1366-2, part 13 and EN 1366-10, part 9.
1.3. Dampers are designed for smoke exhaust piping systems with underpressure max. -1000 Pa or
overpressure max. 500 Pa.
1.4. Dampers are designed for maximum air velocity 15 m.s-1.
1.5. Smoke extraction dampers - single are classified as

2.1. Design with actuating mechanism
2.1.1. SEDS is equipped by actuating mechanism Belimo BLE24(BE24-12) for 24V supply or
BLE230(BE230-12) for 230V supply. SEDS with big dimensions is equipped by actuating
mechanism Schischek InMax 50.75-S (dual supply 24V or 230V).
After being connected to power supply the actuating mechanism displaces the damper blade into
operation position "OPEN" or „CLOSED“ (according to method of connection, see connection
diagram). Running time is max. 60s. If is power supply cut off, actuating mechanism is stopped
in actual position. The crank handle supplied with the actuator allows it to be operated manually.
Signaling of the damper blade positions "OPEN" and "CLOSED" is provided by means of two
integrated, invariably set terminal switches.

1.1. Smoke extraction dampers - multi are shutters in the smoke exhaust piping systems. The
dampers are designed to remove heat and combustible products (e.g. smoke) from effected fire
compartments. In the event of fire the Smoke and Fire ventilation system opens the damper in
the affected section and removes combustion products and heat from this section.
The damper blade is controlled by electrical actuating mechanism.
Dampers are fire resistant and are intended for systems with manual or automatic activation.
Dampers are designed for using in fire compartments that can be connected to the smoke
exhaust ducts (tested according to EN 1366-8) or they can be installed in or on the construction
of the fire compartment.

1.1. Multi smoke dampers are shutters in the smoke exhaust duct systems. The dampers are
designed to remove heat and combustible products (e.g. smoke) from effected fire compartments.
In the event of fire the Smoke and Fire ventilation system opens the damper in the affected
section and removes combustion products and heat from this section.
The damper blade is controlled by electrical actuating mechanism.
Dampers are fire resistant and are intended for systems with automatic activation.
Dampers can be installed in construction of the fire compartment.

Norm Teknik were engaged to install a roof level sprinkler system, aspirating smoke detection
system and fire alarm system to the new Silivri facility of Iron Mountain Turkey in late 2015/early
2016.
The works were executed to a high standard and the project completed within the agreed
timeframe.
