works in high-rise skyscrapers to move between multiple floors. It is used for carrying
goods and people from floors to floors. In large ships with several decks’ elevators are also
seen. Elevator is important for staffs, handicap people and the public as they help in many
things and tasks such as make it easier for the handicap people to move from one floor to
another, to help staffs that in duty easily sending the books and other materials to the floor
located. Also, this elevator design is modern type. It has a music in which plays soft

8.0 INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR DESIGN
8.1 COLOUR SELECTION
There has never been a much better time for library style. Bright, friendly,
aspirational areas, geared toward encouraging a brand-new generation of library user, area
unit erasing the conventional image of the libraries of our childhood wherever silence
dominated.
The atmosphere and environment are more important than when you are competing
for customers with online and offline, and when the average adolescent experience of
interior design is driven by standards set by the mall. Our library interiors begin with
audience charm, are sympathetic to the building and have intrinsically property, not solely
in relevancy the environmental credentials of the materials used however conjointly so they
still look contemporary and hospitable 5 or 10 years down the road.

The MCU Library has selected specific colours according to the space. This is
because we chose the colours according to the colour theme of the Marvel characters. We
apply this colour to a particular room only because marvel characters have a bright colour.
For examples we chose the marvel gallery which uses bright blue, white and red. For the
reading spaces, we chose soft colours because it has become more important than ever to
make space for people to rest and reflect in comfort, alongside the bookcases, IT provision
and study desks. Meanwhile, on the outside of the library we chose the grey and white
colour as it symbolizes futuristic and intelligence.

8.2 FLOORING
At the MCU Library we specialize in sophistication while emphasizing the interior

design of a modern cotemporary concept that is in keeping with today's modern technology.
The selection of floor tiles and rugs play a key role as they provide comfort to visitors who
come to our library. Our children area has carpets as well as 3d flooring images for floor
decoration. The rug is safe for children from serious injury if they fall while playing. 3d
flooring images can enhance children's imagination. For reading areas, discussion areas
and other rooms we use black and white marble tiles, rugs and bamboo.

8.4 LIGHTING
8.4.1 Natural Lighting
Designing the lighting windows on the inner wall between the reading areas
and also the passageway will improve within illumination uniformity within the
reading areas by the light from the north or the diffuse one from the other room.
Planning lighting windows on the inner wall of reading areas will improve the
natural lighting level of the room, and can also improve the light atmosphere of the
passageway within the library, and is useful to the natural ventilation of the reading
areas on each side of the inner passageway in summer. Doubtless, it's going to cause
the interference of sight and noise in the reading areas, which may be resolved by
strengthening the waterproofing of the windows and choosing frosted glass.

8.4.2 Roof Openings
Roof monitors popped-up extensions of the roof, with vertical glass areas.

Giant roof monitors typically seem to be styles of vertical extensions of the ceiling,
and might give dramatic high internal areas in special areas. One advantage of roof
monitors compared to traditional skylights is that there's less risk of water leakage.
Moreover, roof monitors avoid the strong solar impact of the overhead sun and
might be designed with exterior sun control devices as necessary to diffuse the
direct daylight.

8.4.9 LED Lighting

Most of the lights that are used in our library are LED lighting. LED lighting
became more popular over the last few years. In addition, LED lights consume less
electricity than conventional lighting. LED lighting is characterized as lasting
longer as well. It also is safe to use because it does not contain any harmful gases
such as mercury, xenon and halogen like the conventional light. The design of LED
lights also more modern and contemporary which is in line with the MCU library
concept.

Features of LED Lighting
• Eco-Friendly
LED lighting is safe, environmentally friendly and contains no toxic mercury. LED
lights use 90% less energy than conventional incandescent bulbs and less than half
the energy of compact fluorescent lamps. Consuming less energy results in fewer
greenhouse gas emissions being released into our environment. Furthermore, LED
lights are designed to last for 50,000 or more and there is less landfill waste from
burned-out incandescent bulbs and no dangerous mercury waste from fluorescents.

• Efficiency
The light output is comparable to that of a 40 to 100-watt incandescent light. LED
lighting provides efficiency and enables consumers to save hundreds over the life
of the light, without compromising beauty or the environment. "Lights out" on high
energy usage. LED lights use only 10% on average of power, that's 90% less energy
spent per incandescent light, and 50% less than a CFL.

• Longevity
The longevity of LED lights is unmatched. Install one led light and expect 50,000
hours of light, and eliminate outages and the need to replace and dispose of lamps.
It is 50 times the life of a typical incandescent bulb and 5 times the lifetime of an
average compact fluorescent lamp. LED lights use standard sockets and are
designed for ease of use.

8.4.10 Exterior Lamp
• Outdoor Motion Sensor Lights

Motion detectors are small electronic eyes that detect infrared waves heat
waves that radiate from moving objects. Once the detector senses an object moving
across its field of view, especially warmer objects such as people, animals and cars,
it electronically activates the lights. The motion-sensing light stays on anywhere
from 1 to 20 minutes, depending on how you pre-set the timer. Then the detector
automatically shuts the light off unless it continues to sense movement. A photocell
deactivates the motion-sensing light during daylight hours. A motion sensor light
has a semicircular field of view of up to 240 degrees and a distance range, adjustable
on most detectors, that extends to 70 ft. or more. An outdoor motion sensor light
will react to the movement of your dog, an approaching person, a passing car or
sometimes even wind-blown leaves.
