INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC BAG FREE DAY Grades IV- VII , 3 RD July, 2023 The ocean whispers a silent plea, let us set the plastic-free, for in protecting its watery depths, we unveil the secrets mother nature kept.” On Monday 3rd July 2023 Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram enthusiastically and passionately commemorated International Plastic Bag Free Day. The fervour lay in the unwavering commitment to championing environmental sustainability. The objective of this event was to cultivate awareness surrounding the harmful impact of plastic bags on our planet and to inspire individuals to embrace more eco-friendly alternatives. Learners from Grades IV-VII wholeheartedly participated in activities that were designed to be both captivating and intellectually stimulating, while also fostering critical thinking skills. Through these engaging activities, students were prompted to delve into and comprehend the array of eco-friendly options available, empathize with the challenges faced by each bag, and brainstorm potential solutions to address these issues. The employment of PowerPoint presentations and debates on topics such as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and the health risks associated with microplastics served to augment the students' delivery of information. The entire school community, with a shared conviction to mitigate the usage of plastic bags and instill environmentally-conscious habits amongst students, demonstrated a collective dedication to preserving our planet for future generations. This commitment was evidenced by the initiatives taken on International Plastic Bag Free Day and stands as a testament to the unwavering determination of these young pilots.

NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY Grades IV- XI , 11th May, 2023 Keeping up the tradition of celebrating Special Day with vigour, on 11th May Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram celebrated National Technology Day. I began with a brief introductory video acknowledging the contributions of engineers and scientists in the field of technology and how it has transformed through the ages becoming an integral part of our lives. The speakers shared their insights on various technological advancements such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Big Data Analytics, and Electric Vehicles. They highlighted the benefits of these technologies in improving efficiency, productivity, and decision-making in different domains, ranging from healthcare to agriculture to transportation. The speakers also deliberated on the challenges posed by technology, such as the impact on employment, privacy concerns, and security risks. They emphasized the need for responsible use of technology and the ethical considerations that must be taken into account while developing and deploying these advancements. This was followed by an overwhelming Nukkad Natak which presented the modern era of seamless technology. The session proved to be insightful and thought-provoking, providing a holistic understanding of the impact of technology on society and its prospects. It highlighted the importance of technological advancements in shaping our lives and the need for continued investment in research and development to leverage its potential fully. WORLD YOUTH SKILL DAY Grades VIII- XII , 17th July, 2023 "Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other." - John F. Kennedy Through its continuous efforts, Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram epitomizes its commitment to empowering our students for a thriving future. Embracing the theme of "Empowering Youth for a Resilient Future" various activities were conducted across Grades VIII-XII fostering a proactive approach towards skill development among our students for a sustainable future. Students keenly participated, enthralled by the notion that skill acquisition is an investment in themselves and their future. In Grade 8, the highlight was the "SharkTank/Young Entrepreneurs" event, where students showcased their innovative business ideas; grade 9 focused on "Transforming Youth Skills for the Future," aiming to prepare students for the rapidly changing job market; grade 10 concentrated on "Life Skills and Sustainable Development," creating awareness among learners to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives; grades 11 and 12, emphasized on "Making Skilling a Life-long Process for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and presented their ideas by creating visionary boards. The celebration underscored the school's unwavering dedication to nurturing wellrounded, skilled, and socially conscious leaders, ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the future.

It is estimated that over 12,000 persons die every day in India due to non-availability of blood. One of the major factors for the shortfall is lack of awareness and prevalence of myths about blood donation. Accessibility and availability of blood to people in emergency situation. It also ensures zero cost for blood donation and procurement of medical equipments. The app contains features like real time Pan-India data on blood availability. It is estimated that over 12,000 people die every day in India due to nonavailability of blood. One of the major factors for the shortfall is lack of awareness and prevalence of myths about blood donation. More than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day. A total of 30 million blood components are transfused each year.STBC has fixed the maximum price of Rs 1050 per unit for whole blood and packed red cells, Rs 300 for fresh frozen plasma, platelet concentrate, and Rs 200 for cryoprecipitate. The App has a main screen from where user can navigate to various screens. The user can use the app for finding a blood donation center, as well as a blood donor. Besides, the user can also sign up to our community, from where her/his data would be shared with us. We would then use the data and contact all those wishing to donate, in case of emergency.
