As we come to the end of a fruitful academic year, let’s take time to reflect upon what we have accomplished and what lies ahead to be conquered. Amidst the many challenges of returning back to the physical form of schooling, we have sailed through and how! The year saw milestone revelries giving our learners a chance to prove their grit and progress in all aspects of learning. Be it Annual Events, Academic Forums, hosting National level Events or partnering for prestigious Government led Initiatives, our Lotus Valley Family has worked as a team and done it all with the unflinching spirit to prove its mettle by providing prime opportunities to our learners. Above all, the institution makes available an enjoyable campus and classroom experience while nurturing a collaborative community, which ensures that each learner emerges and evolves to be a global leader and citizen. Our efforts are also enriched by the active involvement of inspiring alumni, who are making their mark in every profession and walk of life to serve as shining examples of the exceptional holistic education being offered at Lotus Valley. As we move towards a new beginning, we wish that keeping our roots firmly on the ground and yet reaching the sky will enable our learners to embark on yet another progressive journey with new avenues to explore and opportunities to invent . The year 2023 so far has indeed been action packed for the learners and mentors with the spectacular Annual Presentations and elevating Events. Making the most of excellent opportunities to spread their wings, our students had enriching learning experiences during mega events such as the CBSE National Science Exhibition and the impeccable ‘Y20’ youth forum discussion ‘Lotus Korero’ under the aegis of G20 India. My heart swells with pride as I see beaming countenances of our exceptional and talented learners under the able guidance of the Director-Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra and her exemplary galaxy of facilitators. A Good institution is made Great by the unwavering and enthusiastic participation of every stakeholder. With each passing year, we grow from strength to strength with the addition of the valued members to our abode. I warmly welcome the newly inducted parents with open arms into our haven of love and knowledge and wish them a splendid journey ahead. They were seen participating wholeheartedly in Lotus Korero, a contextual conversation organized by the school to engage youth in democracy and governance through the platform of G20 India in collaboration with Y20 India Talk Series. Likewise, the ‘CBSE National Science Exhibition’ organized on the theme ‘Technology and Toys’ gave learners a platform to interact with the technically attuned trailblazers from 458 participating schools. I am confident that in times to come our learners will continue this journey to excellence with sustained enthusiasm and perseverance. I take this opportunity to earnestly thank the School Management and the parent fraternity for their continued support in all our endeavours. ‘The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is practice.’ Our endeavours to help learners develop love for learning include adoption of effective measures to ensure a smooth transition to the next Grade. Accordingly, the Academic Session was brought to a closure with Knowledge Mileage assessments to enable learners recapitulate the concepts covered during the year. The assessments went a long way in encouraging learners to develop a sense of responsibility, improve time management skills, identify the areas where they have a stronghold as well as those where there is a scope for advancement. It was promising to witness the readiness and keen involvement of our learners.


Lab Assessment


‘Each individual possesses the power to accomplish great things and make a significant difference in the world.’ We lay great emphasis on the learning process, as it is the essential building block for personal and societal advancement. A part of this process includes regular assessment and sharing of Progress Profile Reports, which sum up learners’ performance in scholastic and co-scholastic areas in an academic year. For the final term of the Academic Year 2022-2023, Progress Profile Reports were published on the school portal on 18th March, 2023 for Grades Pre-Nursery - III. The reports covered various parameters of progress including Language Art, Number Art, Environment and Social Awareness, IT Competence, Performing Arts, Artistic Acumen, and Sports Skills. They provide parents an insight into their wards’ performance while underscoring the strengths as well as areas that need improvement.


Science is the highest personification of the nation because that nation will remain the first which carries the furthest the works of thought and intelligence.’ Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram hosted the ‘CBSE National Science Exhibition’ based on the theme ‘Technology and Toys’ from 7th to 9 th February 2023. The exhibition was declared open by Ms Nidhi Chibber, IAS, Chairperson CBSE and Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Director, CBSE in the Inaugural Ceremony. The School Greens were swarmed with Octonorm stalls exhibiting static and working models presented expressively by the brilliant contributors of the exhibition. The thinking minds and technically attuned trailblazers from 458 participating schools added to the unparalleled synergy and aroma of scientific tempering! Our esteemed Chairperson, Ms Jaspreet Kaur and Member of the Managing Committee, Ms Sureena Uppal, esteemed panel of Jury from CSIR, DRDO, ISRO Principals, teachers, and students from schools across India and abroad and other notables embellished the Valedictory Ceremony on 9th February. The three-day event ended on a high note as congratulatory greetings hailed the participants who made it to the National Level.

Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram organised Lotus Korero, a contextual conversation to engage youth in democracy and governance through the platform of G20 India in collaboration with Y20 India Talk Series. Mrs. Anita Malhotra, Founder Director-Principal, presented the welcome address, which was followed by an Inaugural speech by Mr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, Member of Rajya Sabha. A special message by Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs was delivered about the importance of India hosting the ‘G20 Presidency’. A panel discussion on ‘Polymath Approach to Indian Education - A Pre-requisite for Good Governance’ provided a platform to learners from various schools to express their views. A special message by Mr. V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, was delivered during the Valedictory Ceremony, highlighting how youth could play a greater role in public affairs and democracy. Mr. Anand Narsimhan, Senior Journalist & Anchor and Mr. Gaurav Bidhuri, an International Boxer also shared their insightful thoughts with the audience. The School has been Ranked no. 7 in Infrastructure Provision and no. 10 in Teacher Welfare & Development, all over India by EducationWorld India School Rankings 2022-23 in a recent awards and encomiums ceremony held at The Lalit, New Delhi. The award was received by Ms. Ritu Jawa, Vice Principal Primary and Middle Wing, on behalf of every member of the Lotus Valley family. We are eternally thankful to the Almighty for His Munificence, the School Management, Teaching Faculty, Student and Parent Community.


Learners of Lotus Valley brought laurels to the school by winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in Interschool Skating Championship under different categories and age groups held at G.D. Goenka Public school sector – 48. Gurugram. All the learners participated with full of zeal and enthusiasm.


Lotus Valley learners participated in InterSchool Competition held at K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurugram and brought laurels to the School, by winning First Position. All the learners performed extremely well and with full of zeal and enthusiasm.


“You don’t win a debate by suppressing discussion; you win it with a better argument.” Competing passionately in the National Debate Competition organized by Bal Education Trust, Avichal Gupta of Grade VIII Amazon has successfully qualified for the National Level, vanquishing contenders of his age group from across the country at District and State Level. An outstanding orator who has participated in a multitude of Inter School Competitions, Avichal believes that while his journey to the National Level has been one of learning and exploration, it has also given him a sense of accomplishment and pride in having to represent the state of Haryana at the next level. The School congratulates Avichal and wishes him the very best in further raising the bar for himself and his peers, by competing at the National Level.


Congratulations to Mannan Rana of Grade XI Dalton, the budding artist! Having explored the canvas since the tender age of five Manan's tryst with creativity started by creating his own fictitious games on small bits of paper. He consistently pushes the boundaries of creativity, his work experiments with new design concepts intensifying existing creative landscapes and encompassing all fields of design, “Manga” being one of his foremost interests. According to him, sketching is therapeutic, especially character art and environment building. Manga can be an initial point or a magnum opus. Since it has existed for centuries now, the choices are also abundant. His favorite character being “Miyamoto Mushashi” from the Vagabond. He says that the Manga has captured the mind share of the younger generation, the reason being its timeless appeal. It has molded itself in the cultural tones of the times. At this tender age, he has been recognized for his creativity, skill set and intellect. He has designed a design script for a corporate advertising firm. He has been an honorary delegate for the students at the Society of Automotive Manufacturers (SIAM) of India to participate in the automotive design conclave as a young design representative from the student community. He has also published a story sketch book with Bribooks and is currently completing his first book. He runs his Instagram handle where he showcases his sketches and runs a blog which has story telling through sketches and caricatures. He looks forward to collaborating with fresh ideating povs. All the best Mannan!


Lotus Valley learner, Devaansh Wadhwa of Grade VII Mahanadi won Gold medal in an Interschool Badminton Tournament held at DPSG Sushant Lok. Congratulations Devaansh! Learners of Lotus Valley, Devansh Wadhwa, VII Mahanadi & Kshrugal, VI Ganges participated FBL Risers Badminton League U-14 held at Flow Sports Life, Gurugram from 17th to 19th December 2022 and bagged 2 Silver Medals.

Lotus Valley learner, Aadit Jain of Grade III Hornbills participated in 1st Haryana State Amateur Chess Championship 2023 held at RPS School. Aadik ranked 197 out of 425 and scored 4 points out of 7. “Don ’t let what you can ’t do stop you from doing what you can do.”


Shanaya Suri, Grade VII Tapti We congratulate Shanaya Suri, a grade 7 student of Lotus Valley International School Gurugram, on publishing her first book, “A Cold-Hearted Miracle”. Shanaya has always had a vivid imagination and an ability to weave words into stories. She is known for coming up with a fresh perspective during classroom discussions. Needless to say, when she was provided with a platform by the school in association with Bribooks, she jumped at the opportunity. The plot of her book revolves around the protagonist Liam, a miserly baker who has a change of heart on Christmas. Not only does the book share an important message, but it is also suitably illustrated. We wish Shanaya all the success on her magical journey of becoming a celebrated author.


Writing Is the Painting of One’s Thoughts "If there's a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it.“ At Lotus Valley International School, it has been our constant endeavor to inculcate the habit of reading in our young learners since books are one of the best sources to provide inspiration, thoughts as well as reflection to the young minds! We are immensely pleased to share that our budding writer, Nandini of Grade III Pigeons has made us proud with the publication of her first book - "Imagination: Bunch of Stories". The book is a collection of short stories, with each one being unique and a page turner. An ardent reader, Nandini started penning down her thoughts on paper from the young age of five. Each story in the book has a moral to share, which inculcates good habits in the readers. It is beautifully illustrated with each colorful page quenching our imagination. The book is well paced and a must read. We heartily congratulate Nandini for her accomplishments and look forward to her future works!
