ANNUAL SCHOOL JOURNAL 2022-23 JUNIOR SCHOOL CONFLUENCE OF ART AND IDEAS OF OUR STUDENTS

Dear Children, School is a place where we learn to manage you at your simplest so that we may deserve you at your best. On your part, you need to learn how to be at your best. We are here on earth only once but if we learn how to be our best at all times, then, being here on earth only once is enough. Learning to be at our best at all times, is a challenge. And school is a place where you come to learn that. Therefore, learn well. So, you can live well. May God bless you and keep you safe! LN Goel Management Trustee

Dear Suncitizens, Life holds a lot of surprises and special moments. What we make of them lies entirely with us. What appears to be difficult at first could just be different; hence one just needs a change of mindset to approach it and deal with it differently. Learning to discern between situations and our way of approaching them makes life successful and harmonious. Always be prepared with a positive mindset and a bevy of positive tools like tenacity, perseverance and so on to approach life to remain joyful and satisfied. All the best! Ankit Goel Chairman

Dear Parents and Students, As a student when I used to go to play hockey to different districts of Maharashtra we would be woken up in the morning with patriotic songsLata Mangeshkar’s-Aye mere watan ke logo, being one of them. The sentiments it evoked, lives on till this day. However, I have realized over a period of time emotions can trigger off a thought and thereafter a feeling but what about the action…..? To able to conjure up images in the mind and in tandem with the previous knowledge and experience be able to garner and realize ideas, a feeling, an emotion is useful only if you can imagine what can be done with it. It is time to introspect and come to terms with reality ‘Swadeshanurag’ the theme for the academic session 2022-2023 definitely raises this question in my mind. Are we ready to speak patriotism or act patriotic? Only emote or also act? The ethos and ethics that we imbibe in our children is what will reflect in their actions. As I read the articles written by the pupils on ‘Swadeshanurag’ I saw the profundity with which some of them approached the buzzword of the year-‘Swadeshanurag’. In lieu of segregating the colours from our flag into saffron, green and white and laying stress on which colour should shroud our thoughts let us keep the flag as one-a true symbol of diversity and teach our children to learn to sacrifice- sacrifice a celebration and spend it at an old age home; sacrifice the x-box or a phone; part with their pocket money to help someone who is needy; Sacrifice their play time to look after their grandparents. Its in these small gestures that they will build a lifetime of ‘Swadeshanurag’ and lay the first steps to achieve bigger sacrifices for their country. I feel very happy to see the manner in which students have elucidated the emotion of -‘Swadeshanurag’ and displayed ways to forge ahead in the hinterland where life begins and ends. Important to- Think patriotism but most important to -Act patriotic. John Kenedy rightly said: Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. Building character Whenever I ask children about their favourite subject, most of the time the answer is sports. Running instead of walking, jumping with joy when happy, coming up or going down the stairs - two steps at a time, are all synonymous to childhood. Yet, there is this alarming trend of obesity and it is catching them younger and younger. It is imperative that we provide children with opportunities that allow them to be active and thus be fit. At school, teachers are encouraged to conduct lessons outdoors. Kinesthetic activities are a part of all lesson plans. Students routinely go for nature walks during the Science and Social Science lessons, try out Math sums in the field and have Creative writing as well as Art lessons amidst the myriad of radiant flowers. It is suggested that all weekend plans should include outdoor activities. Mountain climbing, trekking, participating in marathons, street cricket or football offer a platform for discussion, arguments, debates, and teamwork. Children learn the importance of the power of persuasion and leadership skills. In other words, these activities are a channel to not only build character but also lifelong memories! Regular activity results in a strong immunity. It is important that children are introduced to rigour as well as sunlight. The ‘wake up early’ mantra of our forefathers is valuable and not to be forgotten amidst scintillating millennium activities. It allows for more ‘active’ hours which are essential for sports practice. It is also a daily reminder to do things which have to done, not matter how difficult they may be, in order to stick to a routine and follow through. A fit body leads to a strong mind which is directly proportional to strong relationships and the achievement of goals. Stay fit and healthy for a fulfilling life. Kindling Curiosity "Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning." - William Arthur Ward. Curiosity is not just a fleeting emotion, but a driving force that fuels a child's imagination and creativity. As educators, we have a profound responsibility to not only teach our students academic subjects but also to foster their personal growth and development. At Suncity, we strive to promote holistic development by igniting our students' curiosity. When our little explorers embark on a quest for knowledge, they become more engaged, enthusiastic, and adventurous. As a teacher, I have always been fascinated by the innate curiosity of children. Their unbridled sense of wonder and willingness to ask questions is what makes teaching such a rewarding profession. They begin to experiment with new ideas, take risks, and develop their problem-solving skills in ways that will serve them well throughout their lives. Thus, I’ve always believed in the importance of nurturing and harnessing the power of curiosity to facilitate a child's lifelong love of learning. The poet Rumi once said, "Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment." This quote highlights the importance of cultivating a sense of wonder and amazement in our students. When we encourage them to embrace curiosity, we are opening up a world of endless possibilities and discoveries. By asking questions, experimenting with new ideas, and exploring their environment, our students become active participants in their own learning journey. Moreover, fostering curiosity can promote social and emotional well-being. It can help children develop empathy, self-awareness, and a sense of gratitude for the world around them. Curiosity can also promote a growth mindset, where children understand that their abilities are not fixed and can be developed over time with effort and persistence. At our school, we celebrate curiosity as an essential ingredient for our students' healthy development. We believe that when we encourage our students to be curious, we are laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning that will serve them well beyond the classroom. So, let us continue to nurture this sense of wonder in our students and encourage them to ask questions, explore new ideas, and embrace the thrill of discovery. Together, we can inspire a love for learning that will last a lifetime! FROM THE DESK OF HEADMISTRESS ELEMENTARY YEARS PROGRAMME - MS. SANGEETA BAGCHI

As our country commemorated 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements; our yearly theme of ‘Swadeshanurag’ helped in sketching a vivid imagery of belongingness and identity. No one-line definition can define patriotism, though the feeling must be instilled and not taught to the youth of the country so they grow up to act as responsible citizens. ‘Swadeshanurag’ encompasses devotion and robust support for the nation, without belittling others. Junior Synergy taps the enthusiasm of the students and provides them an opportunity to showcase their thoughts not only about nationalism, but also their latent creative potential. Helen Keller rightly said that the world moves not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker. The herculean task of editing the magazine would not have been possible without the support of the Editorial Board and many members of the teaching faculty who went beyond their comfort zones and embraced the digital components that are now a new companion to the print publication. Here’s wishing all of you to keep the spirits up as we approach the end of a yet another eventful session. Shrug off the apathy, and relook at life to craft your own success story! THE DAY WHEN EVERYTHING WENT WRONG... So, it all started as a very usual morning. But to my surprise, it was not. I was extremely late, as it was 6:30 in the morning. I panicked! It was already 6:50, so I quickly packed my bag because I forgot to do it the day before. As I went to the washroom and looked in the mirror, I realized that I accidentally wore the sports uniform. I panicked and almost missed the bus. When I was going down by the lift, the circuit failed, meaning the lights went off. With some courage, I tried opening the lift door, and I succeeded. To be honest, I never really panicked when the lift stopped. I was instead thinking about Bakugo VS Midoriya! A long while after, before dispersal, instead of our clubs, we had to watch a chess tournament. During the chess tournament, I was thinking why weren't there any pen-spinning tournaments in our school? Like come- on, it's cool! While we were dispersing, someone took my bag instead of theirs! I waited for 30 minutes for his/her parents to come and give me the bag! Thanks to the teachers who helped me find my bag. As soon as I walked to the bus, remembering that my bus was about to leave me, I saw the entire Route number 8 sitting in our bus! When I asked my brother and my friend if I could sit with them, they declined my request and even stole my food! As I reached home, after an hour of standing, I asked myself if this day could get any worse. Eventually, it got. While I was changing, my tuition teacher arrived! (I know it is sad) After the tuition, my parents promised me we would go to my favorite restaurant to have dinner and some ice cream. Without uttering a word, I went into my room, locked the door, and cried with a frustrated sigh. SO THAT’S IT EVERYONE! I HOPE YOU ENJOYED MY WORST DAY! I am sure though, that it happens with everyone once in a while! SHIVKUMAR LONGANI VIC

THE SCARY LITTLE CHRISTMAS When Ellena found out that the next day was Christmas Eve, she was overjoyed and told everyone she knew that she is going to get a phone now that she was 10, she knew she will get one. The next day Ellena woke everyone up and Zac was very mad at her because he slept late as he had an assignment due, and slept at 3:00 am, and his sister woke him up at 6:00 am. He thought when it was time to open the present ‘Santa had given’, he will open his and go to sleep. Zac was 14, so he was keeping stuff to himself. After eating great pancakes, they started to open their presents but Zac did not believe that Santa was real. He thought it was his mom and dad, and there were no presents underneath the tree. But when Zac and Ellena got near the Christmas tree, they forgot that that day was Christmas Eve, not Christmas, so they baked cookies together and even put up the tree while singing carols. On the other hand, at the north pole, someone was taking over Santa’s job. His name was Janta and he was the exact opposite of Santa, he was Santa’s evil brother and instead of giving nice presents, he gave bad, evil, possessed stuff that was never on anyone’s list. He was evil and grumpy, and he was very unkind. After a while, Ellena went to bed waiting for tomorrow but she was in for a surprise. The next morning, she was over with joy when she went down to eat breakfast and then open her gift. “Today for breakfast, we have waffles’, said their mom. After eating a delicious breakfast, they opened their gifts and what Ellena got, shocked her and Zac, she got the doll called Annabelle. She was horrified, but she still thanked and went up to her room to throw that horrifying doll out her window. That night at 1:00 o’ clock, she heard someone banging on the window. She woke up and opened the door, she saw that the doll was hanging on her wall and she screamed. The doll was saying “A cool summer breeze drifts along the shore, I feel it gently and ask for more. The ocean slowly, gently tumbles, I step and the sand tenderly crumbles. The refreshing nice breeze is picture perfect; I'd steal it and keep it and never hurt it. The pretty sunset in front of me, is something that makes me happy.”

She was a good doll who wanted to be free and she was scared that the humas will kill her, and everyone always misunderstood her and she felt horrible. She did not want to kill people and most definitely did not want to be a scary doll that no one loved or who had no family. She was human before she turned into a doll, she always wanted to be liked but for some reason everyone was always mean to her, until she found out about THE SECRET! The secret was – She was the daughter of a witch, who had cast a spell on the poor little town. She was scared and shocked, as well as angry at her mom, after a while she started crying as she could not find a way to express herself, and crying looked like the only option left. She didn’t blame the people of the town, but at the same time knew that this was not her fault. After a while, she suddenly turned into a doll. Six years later, she still could not turn back into a human, her human name was Chloe, but people started calling her Annabella when she turned into a doll. The curse she got also made her kill people by force and forced her to haunt people. She never wanted to do this and felt very bad for the people she killed. After hearing all this, Ellena and Zac found themselves hugging her and decided to keep her, but kept her in their basement, in a box which was locked so that she would not kill anyone else. They usually once in a while went to check on her. One day in the morning, they found out that their mom was missing and that Annabella had escaped from the box by breaking the glass of the box… Ashia Wadhera V A

THE NINJA AND HIS PET Once, there lived a small boy in a sleepy town. His name was Gen. He was fast and nimble on his feet. He was also very clever and stealthy. One afternoon, a letter arrived with a golden dragon stamped on it. It read: “Dear Gen, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at the Ninja Academy.” Gen was superexcited. He was enthusiastic about becoming a ninja and knew his agility would give him a head-start. There were about six or seven other boy and girl ‘ninjas’ beside him, and their coach was a tall, smiling woman with blond hair. She led them to a small, simple training room. It was entirely made of wood, and there was nothing in it. “This is your combat room,” she said. Then she made Gen and another boy, Taiki, combat each other. She gave Taiki a pair of nun chucks and gave Gen a katana sword and gave them a quick lesson on how to use them properly. Taiki whirled the nun chucks over his head and Gen slashed the air with sword. At one point, Gen brought the blade down on the nun chucks, causing the chain to split into two! Everyone whooped and cheered. Their coach seemed very impressed; she mentioned to Gen to follow her. They went down a steep, narrow staircase. As they walked, the coach said, “Gen, you are a skilled ninja, and all skilled ninjas should have their pet.” She flung open a pair of huge doors. There stood a dragon! It looked strong, with muscular, leathery wings and amber-green eyes. Lightning bolts crackled all around him. The coach said, “You must give him a name.” “How about… Zapper?” said Gen. Gen climbed on Zapper, and they soared out of the rather big window, then through a cloud. Suddenly, he saw a shadow of a huge shape through the clouds. He flew in for a closer look. Gen was now looking at a hydra, four headed dragon. Sitting astride it was a samurai warrior. It was heading right to the Academy. Gen and Zapper flew into fight. All the lightening crackling around Zapper was now concentrated into a power ball and Zapper blasted that ball at Hydra’s head. With Zapper, Gen had an advantage, but he wanted a fair fight, so he hopped off Zapper, pulled out two katanas, and stood his ground. The samurai pulled out both his swords, too. Both warriors had started circling each other. The Samurai leapt forward, slashing thin air like a maniac, and Gen crossed both his swords in a protective position, metal met metal, sending sparks flying everywhere. Right then Gen heard a roar. Two lightning bolts came flying to Gen’s swords. Now, his swords were crackling with magical lightning power, Zapper had given Gen’s swords a dragon boost! “Thanks Zapper,” Gen said, grinning. “This will come in handy!” Gen now charged on the samurai, electro-swords in hands. The samurai was fatally electrocuted, and was now on the ground, groaning and moaning like a wounded bison. Gen felt proud of his accomplishment. He had stopped a dangerous samurai warrior and saved the Academy from attack, and it was all thanks to his new pet dragon, Zapper! Priyansh Singh IV-A

SWADESHANURAG ARYAVANSH GOEL IIIA

SWADESHANURAG Patriotism is a feeling of attachment and commitment to a country, nation, or political community. A person who supports his or her country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or oppression is known as a patriot. A patriot works selflessly for the betterment of his country. A truly developed country is made up of true patriots. Indians usually refer to their country as their motherland. This further proves that have the same love for their country. As we have for our mother. After all, our country is no less than a mother. It nurtures us and helps us grow. When everyone works for the betterment of the country, there would be no conflict of interest leading to the establishment of a harmonious environment. The feeling of patriotism can be truly experienced at the time of war and national emergencies. During such times, all leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose brought everyone together and infused the feeling of patriotism amongst the citizen of India. AARAV GOEL VIG MY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY India is a country of diversity, A land of harmony and unity. Bravest freedom fighters sacrificed their lives, To give us freedom and pride that thrives. A milieu that imbibes all cultures and religions, Unimaginable variety in food and traditions. High mountains, sacred rivers, fertile plains, Music, dance, fine arts, and science. Festivals and occasions all-round the year, Make India vibrant, lively and austere. I love my beautiful country, And bow before it most humbly. Satyaarth Chandra V A

PATRIOTISM Many people dedicate their life to serving their nation. Many people think that Patriotism is about sacrificing a life for the nation, but real the sense e of patriotism is living for the betterment of your country. In the past, many people had spent their life for the betterment of their country. A person who follows patriotism is dutiful towards his or her country. A patriot always supports his nation. A feeling of patriotism brings people closer and inspires them to act together. Those who are true patriots work towards nation-building in whichever form they can. Now a day’s youth do not understand the importance of patriotism which must be explained to them. Elder people, schools, colleges, and institutions must come forward to make the youth understand patriotism. We must do our best to serve our nation, it gives us identity and culture to fall back upon. Vanya Gupta V A MY INDIA, MY PRIDE White, Saffron, Green, With a dynamic blue wheel, Our flag flies high in the sky. MY INDIA, MY PRIDE. With the mighty Himalayas in the north, And Indian Ocean in the south. With beautiful green forests, And long flowing rivers around, Giving life to all. Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders India, our Motherland. MY INDIA, MY PRIDE. Land with many religions and castes, Land of stories of many brave hearts. Celebrating festivals throughout the year. INDIA, MY NATION, MY PRIDE. Mayra Gupta IV-A

ONE WORD, MANY PEOPLE One word repeats itself in Indian history continuously. Am I talking about Mughals, Rajputs, Maharajas or Maharanis? Well, the answer is no. I am talking about ‘Patriotism’, a word that denotes love for your motherland. From Mahatma Gandhi to Lokmanya Tilak, from Subhash Chandra Bose to the Rani of Jhansi all these men and women sacrificed their lives for their country. Their sacrifices are the emblems of patriotism. “The lesson which we should learn from Bhagat Singh is to die in a manly and bold manner so India may live,’’ rightfully wrote Jawaharlal Nehru about the young martyr’s sacrifice. The British were so scared of Chandra Shekhar Azad that even after he committed suicide the British still shot his dead body just to make sure that he was dead. Subhash Chandra Bose led the earliest modern strike in history, forming the Indian National Army (I.N.A). Let’s not forget the women who set good examples of patriotism. Rani Lakshmibai, more commonly known as Rani of Jhansi, died in battle but was a formidable force for the British to deal with. There was Rani Abbakka Chowta, queen of Ullal, whose goal was to reconquer her grandmother’s forts and establish a strong capital from where she could fight the Portuguese. She revolted even when she was dying in prison. Rani Chennamma is not to be ignored. She was among the earliest people in India to realise the danger of the British. She shamed the British East India Company by defeating them several times. And, not to forget the numerous women who fought for independence in the I.N.A. However, patriotism is not just about clashing your blade against an enemy in battle. Rabindranath Tagore showed us how we can use pen and paper to show patriotism. He wrote our national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana”. He also wrote many patriotic poems such as, “When the Head is Held High.” Others like Swami Vivekananda showed their patriotism by fighting for the rights of different castes in the nation - he fought for humanity. Like these great legends have shown us, loving your country, and having true dedication towards it, is true patriotism. You can also show patriotism by doing small deeds for your country such as keeping it clean, conserving plants and animals and being kind to your fellow citizens. Ishaan Sengupta IV A

BACK IN ACTION I was told by my mother, there would be no school, And I thought, wow! it was so super cool. What was lockdown? What did I care? All I knew, I was at home with so much time to spare! My mother’s baking skills were put to experiment, But, through the day I had to manage her temperament. While I missed my school routine during those empty hours, Who cared when we slept a few extended hours. My colour wheel got many WOWs, But my brother never ended his woes. Everyone was at home and it seemed a lot of fun, But I got so many watchful eyes at every turn. The doctors were the teachers of the day, ‘Stay at home’ was what they preached us from far away. We all listened to them and paid attention, That’s why we all are now back in action. NIGHT SKY The ball of fire sweeps of the sapphire blue pool, With the sunset in an icy breeze, For its indicating the rush of something cool, Unfolds a huge duvet of darkish blue above seas. The night finds its way out, A hush blows in and lingers not a while, Some ready to make their beds just about, And some up for reading gloom’s smile. The gleaming moon light from afar, Which has our sails confined, Sitting under night sky full of stars, Doesn’t it feel like a crystalline? As the gaze upon the night fall steps up, The darkness peaks my intensify, Duh, you see it is being covered up, By the glinting stars’ shine in the inky sky. IMAD MUDASIR VIF Lockdown took fun from my life School is a blessing, I realized I missed my friends and that big playground No happiness was around My football, my bat and badminton They were lying in the corner and hidden The days were boring and long Time wasn't moving like a slow song Thankfully that bad dream is over I’m back to school with a makeover New addition to my uniform is this mask But wearing it daily is a big task. Hopefully this will also pass As I hate wearing it, from the bottom of my heart. MASK IN LIFE VIHAAN GULERIA VIB

THE HORIZON-A MYSTERIOUS FRIEND The horizon is a mysterious friend Always near, always far As a child goes to catch it, It runs away and it steals the star. As the sun turns red, And scatters its light far away, The children stare at the horizon, Mouth gaping at the last fading ray. The horizon is a mysterious friend Always near, always far As a child goes to catch it, It runs away and it steals the star. It is where the nurturing earth, Meets the stern sky. It is where the restless ocean, Meets the unflinching sky. The horizon is a mysterious friend Always near, always far. As a child goes to catch it, It runs away and it steals the star. All roads, as most people think, Do not lead to Rome Instead, they wind up to the horizon, Their eternal home. ARNAV KUMAR SINGH VIB

VEENA I am a Veena, I don’t know when I was born, Historians’ views have me torn, Brahma, Shiva and Ma Saraswathi took me along, Vedas and nritya shastras have told my stories for long. Long lost in the British Era, Chitti Babu revived my glory, Then came Asad Ali Khan, who started a new story. Several innovations and modifications have shaped and moulded me, In my current form, Raghunath Nayak has painted me, Rudra, Vichitra and Saraswathi are three forms of me, Played horizontal or vertical, does not matter to me. I was the heart of the courts of great kings, I was the soul of sages’ great teachings, I was the essence of musicians’ great writings, There was a God for every one of my things. Back in the olden days, People would listen to my intoxicating music and be amazed, I used to be played in the courts of great kings, Now I am not even played, I became nothing. I am beautiful in every way, That’s why I used to perform every day. But now people have a heart of stone, All they use is their smart phone. ANSH ARORA VIA

A new subject? Most of the schools usually have subjects like Math, Science, Language and other co-curricular activities like music, dance, sports and Life Skills. However, personally speaking, cooking is necessary and should be added to the school curriculum on choice basis. Why? Your first question could be, “Why?” As per a study, you must be surprised to know that only 63% of millennials knew what a butter knife was when shown a picture1. Advantages What are the benefits? Let’s get to know them- • It helps you become independent. • As packaged food and food brought from restaurants is more expensive than making it at home, cooking will let you save money. • Learn about diversity in cuisine- as you cook a variety of food, you will learn their customs, flavours, history etc., thereby expanding your knowledge. Disadvantages However, some of you must be thinking about how dangerous the tools in the kitchen are, right? While cooking, make sure that you don’t- • Cut yourself while cutting/chopping. • And be careful with fire. Although many recipes are fire-less and these can be done at the beginning, it is good to expand one’s scope of cooking. Moreover, in India, there is a stereotype, that only girls should cook. This should be done away with. Conclusion Everyone should learn the art of cooking from a young age so that everyone is independent. However, it shouldn’t be forced upon one like it is done in India sometimes. Nehul Malhotra VI C

A season is a funny thing, It comes and goes like the wind. Summer makes the flowers bling, Sunshine makes the birds sing. Autumn drops the leaves down, Turns that breeze upside down. Monsoon comes in droplet gown, Invites the cloud like a clown. Winter makes it frosty white, Like the snowflakes on a flight. What if all seasons came together, It will be a funny weather altogether! Magical Seasons Ashia Wadhera V A Orange Orange is my favourite colour that is always so cool, The fruit that I eat everyday fills my mind with electrifying skill, its orange and it will freshen your heart. What we all call orange; it blazes in the heart of an admirer and eye of a bull. Now, I write using a pen instead of a pencil. Sadly, it is not orange, and I am stuck with watery blue. I’ll stare at a lion’s mane just to adore the cool shade of this colour that’s ranked two in the rainbow’s colour, Even if a volcano erupts, I will try to come close just to admire the vibrancy of this stunning colour! I’ll climb to the highest mountain to just get a glimpse of this marvellous colour of the sunset, It’s orange and we all like it because it dominates all other colours! Samay Anand V G

What a Wonderful World…… You say the sky is blue, But ask an astronaut and they’ll say that that it’s untrue. We go out with our friends to play, unknowing that the world suffers day by day. We all say the world is cool and clean, These are only the pictures you’ve seen. Go out to see the reality, It’s far from your fantasy. Let’s maintain the earth’s beauty, start it now, else it’ll be barren by 2050. To make our earth look emerald-green, Let’s pick up some garbage and make OUR streets clean. Siddhanta V C When I thought It Was Impossible…. When I thought it was impossible You told me stories of great people Who made everything possible. When I felt things were tough You consoled me And told me my strength was enough. When I felt like giving up You motivated me to keep going And that I will find my luck! When I was thrilled by my victory You rejoiced with me And told me I will go down in history. When I felt like dancing in the rain You gave up your work And danced with me without any complaint! You have been with me In all my lows and highs You have always given me advice That was very wise! Aavya Gupta V C

Free Will When I was a small kid, I wasn’t able to properly sit. Oh! How I wanted to be free, I wanted to run around and spree. Freedom meant so much to me, The wish to express what you see. But as I grew up, I could feel, The people have lost their zeal. Oh friend, Love thy country, As you love your sweet home. And love thy countrymen, As you love your dear friend. Let our prestigious flag fly high in the sky, Giving it strength in all the whirlwind of offense. It reminds us of our free will, And the sacrifices of our great ones. Arshanoor Bhullar V A Poem on Suncity School I love Suncity School, It is super cool. In this school, there are many classes, You can’t go out without passes. Here, there are many playgrounds, and the field is shaped round. Suncity School, I love you, This poem is about you and me too! Anika Mishra III- F
