CRITERIA BASED ON PERFORMANCE

Describe an ICT activity you have done, which showcases your best use of ICT for
Education (attach supporting evidence, if any). The write up should highlight the
educational issues, integration of ICT tools, e-resources, and students’
involvement in ICT integration.

Ans: In line with the initiatives of the Government of India and CBSE, I have designed and initiated a
program of creating 20-minute digital documentaries. I believe that learners should be self-sufficient
yet team workers. They are budding leaders who should understand the true feelings of patriotism
and nationalism. The class was divided into multiple teams based on their interests and aptitudes.
They used Wikipedia, Govt. Official websites, YouTube, and Internet Search Engines for research.
FOSS, Video and Audio Editors - were used to edit the documentaries. A documentary on Nagaland
where the students learnt about the local handicrafts, art, culture, language, history, cuisine etc.
which was appreciated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland. The documentary Malayalam was
challenging but with the help of online tutorials, the students learnt basic counting, greetings, and
alphabet and created the documentary.
This gave them exposure in terms of leadership qualities, confidence, risk management and how to
work under pressure for managing such big events.
After this activity, a survey was conducted, and the results were discussed at an international
conference organized by NIIT University.

Mind Maps

Making mind maps helps the learner to internalise the concept and perform well
academically. Using ICT to create Mind Maps has given my students an edge over
others and enhanced concept clarity. Mind maps also help them to revise the concepts
in shorter duration and that to effectively.

It is a worldwide phenomenon that Physics is considered as one of the most difficult
branches of the science and hence the drop out rate in physics is maximum. The concept
clarity can be worked upon by using Mind Maps, simulations, lab work, etc. But the
students also require practice in solving numerical and attempting HOTS questions. Keeping
this in mind, I have created this blog to make learning oof Physics a pleasant experience.

Use Game-Based Learning Tool in a classroom

I believe that ICT has opened the avenues of game-based learning.
Game-based learning involves designing learning activities so that game
characteristics and game principles inhere within the learning activities themselves.
Some examples of game elements that can be used to engage and motivate learners
include
• Narrative
• Immediate feedback
• Fun
• “Scaffolded learning” with challenges that increase
• Mastery (for example, in the form of levelling up)
• Progress indicators (for example, through points/badges/leaderboards, also

called PBLs)
• Social connection
• Player control
BENEFITS OF GAMIFICATION IN THE CLASSROOM
• Students feel like they have ownership over their learning
• A more relaxed atmosphere in regard to failure, since learners can simply try again

• More fun in the classroom

• Learning becomes visible through progress indicators

• Students may uncover an intrinsic motivation for learning

The Immediate Feedback Assessment Technique, also known as the IF-AT, is an
exciting and revolutionary new testing system that transforms traditional multiple-
choice testing into an interactive learning opportunity for students and a more
informative assessment opportunity for teachers.

The quizzes which I have created is a brain gym exercise and a game-based learning.
After the completion of the topic in the class and corresponding lab activities the
students are exposed to these online quizzes. This way a repopulation is done. This is
a self-paced learning and as teachers gives me true feedback of the learning graph of
the students.

By attempting these quizzes online, the students can get an idea of the topics which
need to be revisited.

These quizzes can be repeated and are beneficial to the students. Since its an open
repository any students of the physics is welcome to experience the magic of physics
via game based learning.
