K-AOTIC study aims to develop a prediction ABSTRACT monthly time series of carbon monoxide
AKADEMI SAINS PENDANG This model of the
(CO) for year 2017 in a Malaysian state with one of the highest population distributions, which is
Sabah. There are three main research objectives which are to i) detect the presence of chaotic
dynamics in the CO time series, ii) predict the CO and time series and iii) improve the method of
determining the nearest neighbor value k for prediction process. To detect the presence of
chaotic dynamics, Cao method and phase space plot are used. Two steps involved to predict CO
namely phase space reconstruction and prediction process. Before predicting, three parameters
need to be determined namely delay time τ, embedding dimension m and nearest neighbor value
k. The τ parameter is determined through setting of τ = 1. The m parameter is calculated via Cao
method. Parameter k is determined through improved method using correlation coefficient (cc)
against k graph. The best k value is k that produces maximum cc. In this study which uses k =
290 gives a higher correlation coefficient of 0.7953 compared to the previous research that used
k = 180 gives cc = 0.7854. Through the Cao method and phase space plot, results show the
presence of chaotic dynamics. Finding also shown that prediction is better by using k value
through the improved method. As a conclusion, the chaotic approach has successfully predicted
the CO time series in Kota Kinabalu. In implication, this study can be extended to predict time
series such as haze, nitrogen dioxide, wind speed and many more.

ABSTRACT
As a country that is located in south Asian region, Malaysia has tropical climate and is one of
rain catchment areas that lead to the existence of mosquito habitats even at random places. It
is well known that mosquitoes are the main vector to variety of life-threatening diseases such
as Dengue fever, Malaria and Zi
ka virus. Mosquitoes alone transmit diseases to more than 700
million annually. Other than that, mosquitoes bite also cause mild annoyance and irritation for a
short period. In addition, as we are slowly going back to our normal life without quarantine and
control order, lots of people found that it is difficult and tiring to adapt with the face-to-face
activities such as working at the office and learning physically in school. This may affect
human’s daily life mentally and emotionally. The objective of the Mosq-Away Candle project is
to cope with this epidemic for the sake of human health and life. We came up with a solution to
these problems through the implementation of innovations on candles by applying scientific
concepts sourced available and environmentally friendly materials. We show that the latest
ideas from this project can achieve the objective of overcoming all the problems.

ABSTRACT
Csierra is a housing concept that consists of systems and structures that acts as alternatives for
modern construction that tends to harm the environment. The name Csierra is shortened from the
phrase Casa de la Tierra which means house of the earth. The purposes of our innovation are to
reduces the causes of climate change, create a better structure of the industrial field and increase
the health standard of the new g
enerations. The materials are substituted using a better formula, in
fact, we also added few elements to the structures to prevent common climate change
disturbances such as extreme heat or heavy downpour. For the house foundation, we used silica
sand and red burnt soil. It absorbs water efficiently without eroding quickly compared to the normal
ground soil at our home. Most importantly, it is strong and spongy that it would bounce the force
exerted to it back to the top. Our support of the house is made from a mixture of cement, coir and
straw bale. The wall is designed to be a heat insulator to maintain the temperature in the house
which is convenient for any weather conditions. If it is cold, it would prevent the heat from getting
out and if it is hot, we could turn on the cooling system is applied in our concept as well. The cooling
system in our house concept that is evaporation of water that is dispersed out through the small
holes on the designed pipe. To maintain the whole function of the house, we used bamboo for the
house frame because bamboo has a quite high tensile strength which is comparable with steel.
Apart from this, bamboo has an impermeable protective layer on the outer side which protects it
from rotting due to water. The last element of our house concept is using solar shingles as the roof.
Solar shingles and solar tiles are more durable than ordinary shingles, so investment in
multifunctional roof coverings can be considered as a lifetime investment. Keywords: concept,
spongy, straw bale, impermeable, solar shingles

ABSTRACT
ORIANA Oil spillage has become a massive issue that cannot be solve until today. Day by day, the
KOLEJ TUNKU KURSIAH amount of oil spillage especially in the river increases and never decreases. The major factor
that donates to the massive issue of oil spillage in the river is because of the industrial
developments such as itnhethsepriilv
laegr esuocfhtoaxsicmwoatosrtbeofarotsminththeefraivcetor rcieosn.trMibourteeosvteor,ththeespprilelasgeencoef
of many transportation
oil into the river. Oil usually spreads out rapidly across the water surface to form a thin layer
that we call an oil slick. As the oil continues spreading, the layer becomes thinner and thinner,
finally becoming a very thin layer called a sheen, which often looks like a rainbow.
Environmentalists face major challenges in the treatment of spills and in developing an
alternative product with low cost. This is a massive situation that requires everyone attention
and not only environmentalists as this is everyone’s problem. Hence, we, a group of four form
five students have carry out several studies to eliminate the toxic substance and oil spills that
spread on the river. To sum everything up , our products followed the main components of
what the environmentalists wanted, organic, low cost and easy to make. We endeavour to front
rank an immense difference in the world where everyone devotes and plays role to save the
ocean and aquatic lives.

ABSTRACT
Flash floods are becoming increasingly common in Malaysia, especially in the rural parts of
this country. The main contributor turns out to be inadequate drainage systems whose
function fails at the slightest i
ncrease in downpour due to debris and waste stuck in these
poor drainage systems. Smart Flood Drainage System is an idea of a solution for clogged
drain. SFlooDS is a system where one end of the drain is connected to a water source and the
other end as an outlet to where the impurities will centred. This drain stretches more than the
length of targeted area to situate the outlet at a suitable place. Sensor is implanted
surrounding the perimeter of drain to allow debris to be detected at least 4 to 5 inches before
touching the brim. Consecutive to the sensor, water pressure will be increased either from the
rain-filled or from the tank; and by this, debris will be removed almost immediately to the outlet
which avoids drain blockage. In result, the risk of flood in the said area will drop as one of the
main contributors is solved.

ABSTRACT
Eliminating and/or reducing the usage of single-use plastic straws is a globalconcern. "ticx"
was fabricated to enhance the recycling equipment and technology to fuse small plastic
pieces together. "ticx" is an invention named after its use, which is derived from the word
"plastic". It is a stainless stee
l trash bin that can compacts and melts plastic. "ticx" was
invented since plastic straws cannot be recycled due to their small size. It's dumped in landfills
and give challenge to the country's waste management system. Also, we found that it is quite
hard to drink specific types of drinks without straws. Although alternative options are available,
they can either get too soggy or too expensive. “ticx” works by first compacting the plastic by
using a compactor installed inside the bin. Then, the sides and bottom of the bin will start
releasing heat using a heater. The heat will be controlled by the microcontroller to achieve the
perfect heat which will fuse the plastic. “ticx” will pause for a few seconds to allow the plastic
to cool. “ticx” is lined with an insulator which made out of rubber to protect the user from any
type of burn if skin comes into contact with ticx. “ticx” makes it possible for users to recycle
any type of plastic, whether it be big or small. This is a great invention, and we have not seen
anything like it on the market yet. "ticx" opens so many possibilities and will contribute to the
earth soon.

ABSTRACT
FOUR Fungal growth in food is inextricably linked to fungi survival because it supplies nutrients. The
KOLEJ TUNKU KURSIAH aim of our innovation is to postpone the growth of fungi in food. As a result, we create a
product called Catappoka, which is made from Terminalia Catappa and is eco-friendly
sgurobwsttahnpcreo.bFleumrthseinrmceorteh,eitTserfmo
rimnalrieasCeamtabplepsa a teabag. Catappoka can help with this fungal
leaves have anti-fungal properties. According to
our study, Terminalia Catappa has high humidity to outlast. Therefore, we use dried Catappa
leaves to accomplish the goal of our product. The dried leaves can absorb the water vapour in
the food tub via osmosis. As a result, the humidity of the air in the container will be low, and the
rate of fungi growth on the food will be slower. Last but not least, our Catappoka has a strong
commercialisation potential due to its ergonomic and friendly travel. We can take them
anywhere since they are compact in size. Furthermore, Catappoka will also serve to reduce the
amount of food that is lost in the country. In a nutshell, we hope Catappoka can assist to save
nature and lighten up the earth in the future.

ABSTRACT
Keeping an aquarium is a great way to add beauty and interest to your home and is a popular
source of relaxation, education, and entertainment. But for those who have an interest in
ornamental fish, it is necessary for them to clean the aquarium every week. However, not
everyone has enough time to clean it. In order to help them overcome the problem, we have
come up with a wonderful innovation: Cud The HydroPuro to optimize the water quality at a
lower cost. Cud is partially digest
ed returned from the first chamber of the ruminant stomach,
which called asrumen. The rumen contains protozoa, fungi and nitrifying bacteria that act as
biofilter which help to decompose the waste materials in the water. High level oammonia is
highly toxic to aquatic organisms. Thus, the cud played a main role in helping to purify the water
in the aquarium by lowering the level of ammonia. Hence, cud provide better water nitrogen
cycle. Activated charcoal is added to absorb and permanently remove odour and smells in water.
It is also able to clean the water naturally and less polluted. Firstly, cud is prepared with activated
charcoal followed by preparation of two set of aquariums: with and without cud. The first test is
conducted to identify the types of bacteria in the cud by Gram Staining Method and BBL Crystal
identification System Kit. The second test is done to determine the parameters (ammonia,
ammonium, nitrate and dissolved oxygen) of water using AquaRead. Based on the tests
conducted within a week, Acinetobacter baumannii an heterothrophic nitrifying bacteria isolated
from the cud. Ammonia concentration in aquarium with cud shows slightly increase than without
cud which 3 times greater. Cud also promote growth rate of aquatic plant. In conclusion, Cud
The HydroPuro is proven as an eco-friendly innovation that improve water quality. All in all, cud

INSOFT I ABSTRACT
SBP INTEGRASI TEMERLOHThe increase of domestic waste each year is a great concern. Furthermore, most of the waste is
non-biodegradable which pollutes the ground and water. If decompose by burning, the air pollution
occurred. Meanwhile, Malaysia is a nation rich with river but most of it were polluted. A few polluted
rivers in the city were built shop, brid
ges and walkways decorated with the light by the government
around it. Unfortunately, the dark colour of the river and its smell is still there. Thus, this project was
conducted to turn the domestic waste that pollute the river water into activated carbon for river
water treatment. There are three types of domestic waste used in this research which is paper,
plastic and Styrofoam. All the domestic waste was turn into activated carbon and through four test
which are smell, turbidity, pH, iodine, and biological oxygen demand (BOD) test. The result shown
activated carbon from paper, plastic and Styrofoam is suitable to use as water treatment. Using
activated carbon to treat river water hopefully will reduce the amount and cost to dispose of
domestic waste, cost the river water treatment and a good effort as starting point to treat the river
in our country.

are not able to farm properly due to the seeds that germinate slowly and do not grow well.
Germination is the most important stage to ensure that the tree grows well. Germination refers to
the process by which an organism grows from a seed or a spore (Susan Kleatz Beal,1998) The most
common forms of germination include a seed sprouting to form a seedling and the formation of a
sporeling from a spore. Thus, germination occurs primarily in plant and fungal species. The Eco-

ABSTRACT
Malaysia gets a fair lot of insects due to the tropical weather. Usually, people would use the
commercial insect repellent containing diethyltoluamide (DEET) that is classified as a
contaminant that degrades slowly in soil and regarded as slightly toxic in waterways.
Moreover, hazardous paraffin
wax is an ingredient used in insect repellent candles.
Nowadays, humans are being exposed to insect-borne diseases and harmful chemicals
present in insect repellents that keep insects away. Therefore, researchers have developed
the eco-friendly Herby Insect Repellent to replace the commercial insect repellent in two
physical forms: candle and cream. In this product, the active ingredient which is DEET is
replaced with the essential oil of lemongrass and mint leaves that help to repel insects and
also gives natural fragrance. Researchers replaced the paraffin wax with soy wax that
contains nothing artificial and burns clean. The ingredients for the candle: lemongrass, mint
leaves and soy wax are easy to find. Bamboo cups are used to contain the candle. As for the
cream, researchers melted the beeswax as well as cocoa butter and mixed them with sweet
almond oil and the herbs' essential oil. The cream was then placed inside recycled cosmetic
plastic containers. As a result, researchers found that the cream would repel the insects and
the candles can be lit to keep insects away for hours. In conclusion, Herby Insect Repellent is
a small size repellent that is chemical free and environmental friendly, yet cheaper as an
alternative to repel insects.

Abstract: Farmers significantly will suffer from losing crop yield and it will affect their income
and life. The loss mainly is from natural disasters like storms but we want to focus on this one
main course which is from anim
als or anyone doing (subject). Their plants may have been
disturbed by monkeys, squirrels, other animals or even irresponsible humans. This project
named SmartJack aims to reduce the loss of crop yield, to protect the plant from getting
touched by the pests, and to help inform the owner about the presence of the pests. Lastly, it
helps the owner to feel less anxious when they want to leave their orchard, garden or even their
house. In this context, this SmartJack is an anti pest made from a combination of many
systems. To test our hypothesis that our product can reduce the damage, an experiment was
done using a mock- up to determine whether our product was successful. The result showed
that our product was able to reduce the damage and increase the production of crop yield.
These results suggested that the SmartJack is an effective way to drive away the pests
compared to any other way. We've tried many ways such as using chili powder, and Monkey
trap. This SmartJack also helps to save the environment by reducing the number of waste
that comes from the crop. Although the crop can decompose itself, it takes time and space
and then increases the amount of trash. Lastly, it helps to protect the fruit and contributes to
help produce the best, untouch yield.

Cleaning toilet using toilet cleaning product would be highly efficient. However, cleaning
product often include harmful chemical such as hydrochloric acid, cetrimonium chloride
and sodium hypochlorite. There are also known as Volatile Organic Compound (VOCs)
which most of them are dange

especially indoors, where concentrations are the highest. Plus, the packaging for most of
the cleaning product uses plastic bottle and plastic wrappers since it is in the form of liquid.
This could increase the volume of plastic waste. The goal of this study is to develop a
cleaning product that uses organic material and harmless chemical in the form of soluble
so that wecan use biodegradable paper to wrap it instead of plastics, thus can produce zero
waste products. For this project, our key ingredient is orange essential oil that act as an

hypothesis that our product which is cleaning pods and multipurpose pods can reduce the
stain and unpleasant odour, an experiment was done by using harmless chemical
ingredients to determine whether our product was successful. The result showed that our
product was able react with water and dissolve and leave a soothing orange scent. The

Lip balm and lip gloss mostly contain harmful chemicals. Lip balm has chemicals such as
Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Avobenzone and Padimate. Chemicals
such as Oxybenzone are thought to disrupt the endocrine and are associated with
endometriosis in women. In ad
dition, the lip balm also has synthetic dyes such as coal, tar,
and metals leaving toxins in the body. Dyes such as green 3, yellow 5 and 6 and red 33 also
increase skin sensitivity and increase the risk of cancer. Finally, lip balms on the market
have parabens such as methylparaben and butylparaben. Furthermore, Parabens are found
in breast cancer and are associated with reproductive toxicity. Not only that, methylparaben
ingredients have also been found to be able to block the breast cancer drug, Tamoxifen. To
test the hypothesis that our product has no chemicals at all and uses only natural
environment ingredients. It will prevent from various cancer and irritations of the lips. These
results suggested that the Project X gives better substitute than using lip balms that contain
chemicals like those sold in the market. Other than that, Project X can’t only be used as a lip
balm, it can also be used as a lip gloss. Moreover, this project can reduce the number of
cancer patients and people who have irritant lips.

ABSTRACT
“King’s Aura Fertilizer” is an organic fertilizer that we create using waste substances that
people usually throw away but we use it for the plants to grow. The ‘King’ in the title of our
project is related to the king of fruits, the durian, which is the main part of the materials that
we use in the organic fertilize
r. While the "Aura" in our title is related to the other waste
substances that are used which are banana peels, eggshells, soybean meals and
sugarcane waste that contributed to the making of our organic fertilizer. The durian husks
functions to increase the soil nutrients while the eggshells has a high amount of calcium
carbonate and minerals that helps strengthen the plant's cell wall. Banana peels are used
because of it's the highest organic source of potassium. The usage of soybean meal
contributes as a nitrogen source in organic production while the sugarcane waste has a
high count of nutrients and carbon content. In this study, we want to prove that by making
our own organic fertilizer, it is better than using the common commercialize chemical
fertilizer. Our method of making our own organic fertilizer is, first, we collect the raw
materials and dry them under the sun. Then, the dried materials are cut into smaller pieces
and were put into the oven. Lastly, the materials are mixed and grinded in a blender then it
was scattered on the plants. After 2 weeks, the results were taken and we've found that the
PH value of the plants that were scattered by The King's Aura Fertilizer is much more stable
than the ones that are not. Other than that, the number of leaves and the height of the
plants also are higher. In conclusion, our own organic fertilizer has much more benefits
than the common chemical fertilizer. With this information, we should manage and utilize
organic waste properly because it brings benefits to the environment, economy and the well
being of humanity.

the product will hopefully aid us in achieving this objective. We have found that the usage of
solar panels is able to increase the energy efficiency of our food container unit for about
20% of the total energy used [1]. Now in terms of economical impacts, according to the
Food and Agriculture Organisation (2019), about one-quarter to one-third of food waste
produced globally is lost or wasted across the food supply chain, comprising approximately
1.3 billion tons of edible food per year [2] so we hope to reduce this number with the
invention of our product. However, in the commercial side of things, we hope to be able to
provide a product to the food industry, especially to the major companies that lead the
scene such as McDonalds, KFC and Grab, that can improve their customers' satisfaction by
providing customers with fresh and warm food. In providing a storage container unit to
preserve the freshness of food to the general public and to the major food industries, we
hope to alleviate and eliminate all these issues faced.

Using Spice as Insect Repellent: Keeping biting insect away from you can be a
hazardous thing these days. With all the chemical-based repellents sold to fight off
mosquitoes, it's difficult to know what ingredients you can trust. One way to ease your
mind is to make your own
repellent using some commonly available ingredients. Spices
are not just nice aromas you like on your food, but they contain health promoting
essential oils, which can be used in many ways. For instance, the odour of some spices
can be used to ward off insects. Clove, and cinnamon are two common spices that are
effective in keeping biting insects away. One of the chemical ingredients contained in
insect repellent such as N, N-diethyl- 3methylbenzamide (DEET), upon ingestion, might

ABSTRACT
Applications of charcoal have become an interest in daily life such as fuel for combustion.
However, commercial charcoal is normally produced from mangrove trees. This fuel
source is not sustainable and can negatively affect our environment. Mangroves also play
an important role as a natur
al barrier against floods, storms, and erosion. There is also a
need for a way to use organic waste as it decomposes to release methane. Hence, eco-
friendly charcoal, ChArieCo was produced to replace commercial charcoal. ChArieCo was
produced by using the pyrolysis method involving main organic waste such as orange
peels, banana peels, and paddy husks. The samples have been tested using a scanning
electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and pH meter.
SEM scans showed that the number of air pores in the ChArieCo samples is higher
compared to the commercial sample. Samples with higher air pores may produce a longer
burning duration due to higher oxygen content in the samples. Furthermore, the EDS result
indicates the presence of potassium, which is a reactive element, in ChArieCo samples.
This can help in expediting the ignition process of ChArieCo. Moreover, pH level testing on
the samples shows that ChArieCo has an alkaline pH value of 9.4. ChArieCo's alkaline pH
value allows it to be used in neutralizing acidic soil. In conclusion, ChArieCo can burn
longer, can be ignited easier and it helps in protecting the environment as compared to
commercial charcoal. Thus, ChArieCo is a new potential eco-friendly alternative for
charcoal that can replace commercial charcoal.

The world constantly witnesses disasters like flash floods that always leaving residual mud.
The level and depth of mud deposits were overwhelming and at the flood-afflicted places has

ABSTRACT
Nowadays food industry directly depends on medical technology advances. It provides the
possibility to accurately diagnose nutritional diseases at the early stages and identify the
treatment method. In our daily life the use of flour is very important as one of the sources of
carbohydrates, but people toda
y need a healthy flour as an alternative option. Coconut flour
is low in carbohydrates and high in fibre. It has a slightly sweet flavour that works well in
baked goods. A method of making an organic flour for baked goods has the steps of
extracting coconut water from a coconut, blend coconut meat with water, strain the coconut
milk, baked the coconut pulp about 45 minutes at 77 C̊ until it become dehydrated pulp.
Lastly, blend in food processor until it appears finely ground. Coconut flour may promote
stable blood sugar levels and a healthy heart. In addition, it’s a good choice for digestive
health and may support a healthy body weight. Coconut flour can use in a variety of recipes,
including baked goods, pizza crusts, wraps, soups, stews, burgers, and meat and veggie

ABSTRACT
The flushable pads are specially designed to ease women’s monthly menstrual cycle and
helps to reduce the menstrual waste all around our world. This is supported by the data
collected in The United States alone, which is approximately 12 billion pads waste discarded
every year. Despite that, there a
re also large amounts of menstrual waste that contributes to
the staggering amount of plastic waste in our oceans. Regular pads which use non-
biodegradable materials take 500-800 years to degrade, while the organic pads made of
cotton need 2 years to fully decompose. Why should 8 hours worth of plastic take centuries
to degrade? We have come up with an alternative idea to solve this problem by introducing
flushable pads from biodegradable materials that will easily dissolve in the water while
flushing. These pads will be made up of plant fibres, natural adhesive, water dispersible and
biodegradable polymer. In order to provide comfort and extra care for the women, we also
add on a pocket to put a heat pack for them during period pain. The future is now.

A. ENGRAIS A. Engrais is a fertiliser mainly made up of coconut peat and egg shells. The name Engrais
SEKOLAH TUN FATIMAH we’ve chosen originated from a French word meaning fertiliser. A.Engrais is basically a
medium for plantation with its own nutrients for the plant. Hence, no fertiliser is needed to be
added into our medium for the plant to grow healthily. In the present climate, farmers

the world. The
coconut water, coconut milk and coconut oil are produced from the coconut, leaving behind
the coconut shells and the coconut husks, which are not well utilised. Therefore, we decided
to overcome this problem by making use of the coconut husks as a plant medium and
fertiliser. A.Engrais is clearly an early effort to solve this problem as it is eco friendly and
harmless to the environment. Instead of just saving the environment, A.Engrais would also
help many poor farmers to gain more income. It’s definitely killing two birds with one stone.

ABSTRACT
According to Wikipedia, Fire is a chemical reaction that gives off light and heat. Fire can be
useful and dangerous at the same time because it can cause areas around us to be burnt
into ashes. Every year we hear thousands of news about fire. Although one can lessen the
danger of fire to an adequate
ly low intensity, one cannot in general abolish it. It can cause
anytime activity happens and the most common setting for such activity is inside
buildings. Although fire is considered as destructive, it is also useful to humans when it
can be controlled. It is the source of heat energy to run our machines and fuel other
technological innovations. Hence, we are presenting to you “Alpha Leonis Thermique”. Its
main use appears to be as a flame retardant. In this project, we used cornstarch, baking
soda and a PVA glue which claimed to be able to withstand and insulate from extreme
heat. Testing of these materials could expand the range of potential uses and applications
of this substance. Based on our research and testing on this product, we could use this
product by applying the dough to the surface of the building’s concrete. The goal of this
project is to prevent the death of people involved in fire. With the benefits of our product,
we could make fire into something useful for us and provide a better world.

ABSTRACT
Due to so much littering that has been happening in our environment, our team has decided
to come up with the idea of making a robot poubelle, which means a dustbin in France. This
product can help our society in cleaning work management. Besides, this product could also
help our society to get used to using technology in their daily life. People nowadays need to
use their hands to do a lot of th
ings. This can cause the widespread of bacteria everywhere.
Therefore, this product could automatically open the lid with the ultrasonic sensor to detect
our hand when we put our hand above the lid. Other than that, our product has four wheels
on the bottom that uses an infrared sensor which means that it could sense our presence
and could move around by itself without the need for anyone to touch it in order to move it.
This could benefit the user because they wont need to use their energy to move the heavy
dustbin around. Our robot poubelle could make everyone’s life easier in doing cleaning
chores. This could prevent our society from littering everywhere thus, our environment could
be cleaner and better looking. Moreover, it can help people to multitask. As we know, the use
of technology in daily life could make people’s live more systematic and easier. We hope that
this inovation could change the world to become more advance.
