“ If music be the food of love, play on, Give me
excess of it; that surfeiting, The appetite may
sicken, and so die.” ― William Shakespeare
From expression to communication purposes,
music has many great uses. Music is also beneficial for
a person's health and even their mood. Studies have
shown that people who listen to music regularly are
smarter, can retain more information, and are in
happier moods for longer periods of time than those
people who did not listen to any music throughout the
day. Even plants and babies can benefit from listening
to music. Music should be included in everyone's life,
either through the radio or online, for expression of
themselves and to be more healthy.
Our objective was to make our students more
accepting and develop a sense of admiration for diverse
cultures and music.
The students enjoyed all the activities immensely and
learnt valuable things along the way.
We overcame every hurdle thrown our way by our
tenacity and zeal. Our students were dedicated and
energetic and our teachers with their determination
completed this elegant project.
“ Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the
mind, flight to the imagination and life to
everything.” ― Plato
ISA CURRICULUM
ACTIVITY NO: 2
“21st Century
Human Habitations”
The Cambria International School always
believes in imparting quality education to its
students. To provide and equip them with
essential global skills in the best way, our
school commenced the Collaborative project
“21st Century Human Habitation” to study
about the distinct houses and the different
disasters that occurs around the world and its
management.
The project was initiated with Questionnaire
on their observations and was followed by the
Field Trip to provide them experiential
learning. Later, the students researched and
gathered information on the various
habitations by making booklets.
Architectural Workshop was conducted to
expand the knowledge of all the students. The
open Workshop was also conducted to reach
multitude and spread awareness and create
sensitivity.
ISA PROJECT 2 –
ACTION PLAN
Every journey has its fair share of ups and downs / failures and
triumphs. Our few months stint though scrupulous was productive. In
this activity, not only students but also teachers learned many new
things and gain a lot information about distinct houses and the
various factors influencing its structures and designs.
It was ardour and animation/energy, eagerness and enthusiasm of
our students that deserve all the credit for the accomplishment of this
activity. The students explore the construction site, urban and rural
dwellings and had experiential learning through field visit. The
informative booklets on various habitations prepared by students by
research not only educated them but also their fellow classmates by
exchanging their information. The Architectural Workshop activity was
a challenge as it was new concept for the students and also students.
Under the guidance of teachers, even highly animated parents
showed their participation willingly and supported students to prepare
architectural scale models of the different dwellings. This revealed
their creativity and artistic side too. The workshop was held in school
premises in which students gave presentation for their models which
was pedagogic and illumination source of knowledge for Cambrians.
The entire activity was an enriching experience for our students and
teachers which developed a sense of adulation in them for diverse
habitations worldwide and specially for countries like India,
Japan, Russia and USA.
As we are living in 21st century, the new and updated
technologies has made our world a small village and so we no
longer stay confined to the four walls of thinking and
reckoning. The teachers planned the activity to give our students
a global exposure and to make them aware about the disasters
that are prevalent inside and outside the border of their own
country and its management.
The students researched on the most devastating disasters like
hurricane, earthquake and it's frequencies occurred in different
countries.
We were looking forward to collaborate with St. Maur
International School, Japan but we couldn’t collaborate as there
was no favorable response from the school. So we tried to
collaborate with Horizon Japan International School due to
certain circumstances the school couldn’t connect the reason
being spring holidays and winter vacation.
Nevertheless, the entire expedition was very gratifying and
peculiar. In all, the activities were educative for our dear
Cambrians academic wise and also beyond the academic
curriculum too. It was an extremely appealing to be part of the
project for teachers and students as well.
