ISA CURRICULUM
ACTIVITY NO:4

“EMBRACE ECO-FRIENDLY
FERTILIZERS”

The Cambria International School
Initiated the project "Embrace Eco-friendly fertilizers”

to gain understanding of producing a sustainable,
environmentally- friendlier source of soil conditioner

and crop fertilizer and study the species of
earthworm through the preparation of
Vermicompost.

As an initial step, the students will collect
information about vermicompost in temperate and
tropical countries and they will also learn about the
role of earthworms in the preparation of fertilizers.

Secondly, students were asked to share and collect
the information through research sheet (Provided by

the teacher) and the same information was
discussed during the brainstorming session.

Thirdly, Experiment and Presentation session was
conducted were students prepared a bucket of

vermicompost fertilizers with the help of teacher.
The best techniques and factors responsible for the
production of best quality vermicompost of the same

will be shared during the creative walk through
vermicompost model.

ISA PROJECT 4 –
ACTION PLAN

“Every journey has its fair share of ups and downs
and our endeavour though painstaking was

worthwhile because not only the students but also the
teachers learnt many things about the possible ways

to create a better environment”

The project undertaken with the initiative of The
Cambria International School paved an opportunity to
learn in creating a step for a better environment with
the creation of eco-friendly fertilizers bearing the title
“Embrace Eco-friendly fertilizers”.

The above activity enabled the students to learn about
the vermicompost fertilizers as in how they are eco-
friendly and at the same time the usage of these

fertilizers can produce better quality crops which are
more natural and sustainable as compared to other
market fertilizers produced with the usage of chemicals
etc.
As a teacher responsible for the activity it provided me
horizons to discover various species of earthworms
used in tropical and temperate countries and why India
is termed as the largest exporter of vermicompost as
compared to other countries.
The most effective part out of the entire activity
conducted was the live creation of vermicompost amid
the students.

Here the teacher explained the
importance of giving water to the
soil to help earthworms till the soil

properly.

The final outcome of the
vermicompost model prepared by
the teacher along with the students.

ACTIVITY COVER SHEET

Evidences
(PPT Slides)

The PPT slides were shared with the children to enrich

them in giving a meaningful idea about the
vermicompost activity.

Research Sheet (Survey Sheets)

Here the students were
having a glimpse of the vermi

compost prepared in the
school with the help of
teacher involved in this

activity.

hHEHREere the students were
discussing the various steps
involved in this preparation of
the fertilizers and at the same

time having a look at it.

The teacher involved in this
activity was explaining the steps

involved in the preparation of
fertilizers and explaining the
benefits of producing eco-friendly
fertilizers in the sustainability of

environment.

Here the creation of eco-friendly
fertilizers was done step after step and

at the same time explaining the
importance and benefit of preparing

vermin- compost fertilizers.

The next step involved after laying
the soil and waste peels of fruits
and vegetables was the teacher
involved in the activity pouring
water for the earthworms to breathe
and the soil to produce fertilizers.

The next step involved after laying
the soil and waste peels of fruits
and vegetables was the teacher

involved in the activity
demonstrating the earthworms to

the students to be used in the

understanding of producing a sustainable,

environmentally- friendlier source of soil conditioner
and crop fertilizer and study the species of earthworm

through the preparation of Vermicompost.

The students enjoyed all the activities immensely
and learnt valuable things along the way. They learnt

about the various steps in creating the vermi
compost fertilizers which aroused in them the
knowledge of creating eco-friendly fertilizers for the

sustainability of the nature .

We overcame every hurdle thrown our way by our
tenacity and zeal. Our students were dedicated and
