① To perform side turning with an insert whose groove width is greater than 0.43 set side turning feed rate to 0.03mm/rev or smaller.

②W hen performing side turning with an insert whose groove width is greater than 0.43 and the feed rate is over 0.03mm/rev (0.1mm/
rev max), it is likely that chips will damage grooved sides. In this case, please perform grooving in two or more passes to make
room for chips before performing side turning.
