Program ini adalah anjuran pelajar Sarjana Psikologi Kaunseling, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia dengan kerjasama Pusat Perhubungan Alumni UKM dan Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru SK. Sungai Pelek. Program We Care For You ini melibatkan seramai 125 orang pelajar Tahun 4, Tahun 5 dan Tahun 6 dan juga sekitar 50 ibu bapa di sekolah ini. Para ibu bapa didedahkan dengan model psikopendidikan ibu bapa dengan memfokus kepada gaya keibubapaan, memberi psiko-pendidikan melalui peneguhan kepada ibu bapa tentang pentingnya pendidikan anak-anak di sekolah, memberi pendidikan tentang perundangan dan ketagihan gadget dan membantu ibu bapa memahami hubungkait gaya keibubapaan dan personaliti anak ke atas tingkah laku ke sekolah. Bagi program untuk pelajar sekolah pula, pengisian terbahagi kepada tiga modul iaitu Aku dan Sekolah; Sekolah Idaman dan Aku Orang Yang Hebat. Objektif adalah untuk mengenalpasti punca-punca kebimbangan ke sekolah, membina hubungan yang bermakna dengan rakan sekolah, mengenal pasti konflik dalam hubungan interpersonal antara rakan-rakan, memberikan suntikan semangat dan meningkatkan motivasi murid untuk kekal bersemangat untuk ke sekolah dan berjaya dalam pelajaran. Beberapa jenis aktiviti seperti ceramah dan perkongsian serta latihan dalam kumpulan (LDK) telah dijalankan bersama dengan para peserta. Program sehari ini nyata memberi kesan yang baik kepada peserta dan juga pelajar sebagai fasilitator. Para pelajar SKPK6153 dapat mempelajari beberapa perkara dalam konteks pengurusan gaya keibubapaan para ibu bapa, pemerkasaan emosi dan kesejahteraan kesihatan mental para peserta. Pelajar kursus ini yang juga merupakan fasilitator program telah dapat mengaplikasikan ilmu Psikopatologi yang dipelajari di bilik kuliah dan diterjemahkan melalui pengalaman pembelajaran imersif secara bersemuka melalui pembelajaran berasaskan perkhidmatan dalam memperkasakan komuniti ibu bapa dan pelajar di Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Pelek, Sepang, Selangor.


Prosiding kNovasi 2023 245 177 Pemerkasaan Aktiviti Kesukarelawanan di Kalangan Pelajar Universiti: Pendekatan Pelbagai Fasa berdasarkan Enam Tunjang Muhammad Izzat Ebrahim, Seri Mastura Mustaza*, Zurina Ahmad Saidi, Amizan Azim Ramli, & Norinsan Kamil Othman Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia *[email protected] Aktiviti sukarelawan menjadi semakin penting dalam pendidikan masa kini kerana ia memberikan peluang kepada pelajar untuk mengembangkan kemahiran sosial, kepimpinan serta membangunkan sikap empati seorang pelajar. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan holistik dalam memperkasakan aktiviti sukarelawan dikalangan pelajar dan melihat kepada keberhasilan aktivitiaktiviti kesukarelawan yang dilaksanakan oleh pelajar dalam memberi impak positif ke arah melahirkan modal insan yang berkualiti, melalui program Kembara Anak Watan ke Sabah (KEWASA). Program KEWASA ini telah disertai oleh 32 pelajar pasca siswazah dan melibatkan 180 ahli komuniti setempat di Kunak, Sabah. Objektif utama kajian ini adalah untuk menganalisis aktiviti tunjang kesukarelawanan dalam mempengaruhi pembangunan dan nilai sukarelawan pelajar, serta penglibatan komuniti dalam memanfaatkan aktiviti kesukarelawan ini. Enam tunjang utama telah digariskan bagi aktiviti kesukarelawanan di Sabah ini, iaitu 1) pemerkasaan komuniti, 2) pendidikan dan pembangunan kapasiti, 3) kelestarian alam sekitar, 4) kesihatan mental, 5) transformasi digital dan 6) pemerkasaan wanita dan dilaksanakan melalui tiga fasa iaitu fasa sebelum berlepas ke Sabah, semasa di Sabah dan susulan selepas kembali dari Sabah. Tunjangtunjang ini telah mengambil kira keperluan setempat bagi memastikan inisiatif ini relevan, inklusif serta mampan. Kesemua tunjang dilaksanakan mengikut ketetapan yang ditetapkan dengan penyertaan daripada kedua-dua pihak iaitu pelajar dan komuniti. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan aktiviti sukarelawan memberikan kesan positif kepada pembangunan diri pelajar seperti kemahiran komunikasi, sukarelawan dan kerjasama. Terdapat nilai dan manfaat kepada komuniti setempat baik dari aspek sumbangan fizikal, kewangan serta pembangunan mental. Kajian ini dapat memberi panduan kepada organisasi, masyarakat dan institut pendidikan dalam menyokong dan memperluas program berbentuk kesukarelawan serta mendorong pembangunan holistik dalam kalangan pelajar.

Therefore, early intervention by applying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) modules is essential to attract students in science. These modules should offer simple tools which can be delivered to help the understanding of students in science. For understanding of fuel cell theory in science, current STEM kit technology in the market utilised indigenous bacteria from mud with low chances of electricity generation. Failure generation of electricity resulted in low efficiency of knowledge transfer between teachers and students. Therefore, this study embarks on the objective to develop dual chamber microbial fuel cells (MFC) using seeded microbes from the laboratory. Dual chamber MFC offers a sustainable approach for generation of electricity by organic matter oxidation. In this study, a dual chamber MFC was used for the STEM kit module. The MFC was developed together with school children with an engagement with university students. This MFC employs anaerobic microbes producing protons and electrons in the anode chamber, while microalgae Chlamydomonas sp. UKM6 was cultivated in the cathode chamber as a terminal electron acceptor to support the cathodic reaction. The anode and cathode chamber were seeded with exoelectrogenic bacteria and microalgae, respectively. The MFC kit was developed with the connection with diodes. Pemain dibantu sepanjang permainan dengan arahan dan peraturan yang mudah difahami. Aplikasi ini menggunakan teknologi pada masa kini dan ia juga berupaya menggalakkan gaya hidup permainan aktif kerana pemain perlu bergerak untuk mengumpul mata. Untuk mempromosi permainan tradisional kepada khalayak antarabangsa, aplikasi ini menggunakan bahasa Inggeris sebagai bahasa pengantar. Traditional assessment practices often fall short in providing a comprehensive understanding of student learning and can hinder the optimization of instructional strategies. This concept of "Classroom Assessment Techniques" (CATs) can be seen as a dynamic and innovative approach to evaluate student learning in real-time, fostering a more engaging and productive educational environment. CATs encompass a diverse range of formative assessment methods that enable instructors to gauge student comprehension, identify misconceptions, and tailor instructional approaches accordingly. These techniques encourage active participation, critical thinking, and self-regulation among students, as they become integral partners in their own learning journeys. Unlike conventional summative assessments, CATs are unobtrusive, non-threatening, and provide immediate feedback to both students and instructors. By involving students as co-assessors of their progress, CATs not only enhance their metacognitive skills but also promote a sense of ownership over their learning outcomes. In conclusion, the innovative approach of Classroom Assessment Techniques holds promise for revolutionising the way educators evaluate and enhance student learning. Prosiding kNovasi 2023 248 181 VUCA-Based Assessment: Transforming Business Education Evaluation Through Alternative Approach and Real-World Readiness Hemavathi A/P Gunasegaran* Universiti Malaya Centre for Continuing Education, Universiti Malaya *[email protected] In today's world of rapid technological advancements and ever-shifting market dynamics, the imperative to equip business students with skills for navigating the volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA) landscape is crucial. Traditional forms of assessment often focus on memorization and regurgitation of information, which may not adequately prepare students for the dynamic and complex nature of contemporary business situations. To address this, a time-bounded VUCA-based assessment approach is introduced to tackle the urgency of preparing business studies students to confront challenges of a VUCA nature. It is no shock that graduates are expected to possess skills that extend beyond pure memorization to navigate complexities and capitalise on opportunities. Thus, VUCA-based assessment promotes critical thinking, adaptability, and decision-making skills, which are deemed essential to comprehend realworld business scenarios. In order to test the efficiency of the assessment, over 800 diploma students of business studies at the University Malaya Centre for Continuing Education (UMCCed) have been proposed to test their preparedness for VUCA challenges and their opinions on the assessment approach. Based on the feedback, it was certain that the current traditional approach to assessment in preparing students for real-world business dynamics is concerning as well as highlights a need for critical thinking, adaptability, and decision-making skills, which are more effectively nurtured through VUCA-based assessments. In conclusion, by addressing the drawbacks of conventional assessments, this approach aims to better equip students with immediate cognitive skills that are crucial for navigating dynamic business environments. The purpose of this study is to determine how teachers as educators are able to cope with the influx of technological changes and innovations in the implementation of educational programs. This concept of “i-Succeed” utilises a descriptive qualitative approach in conjunction with descriptive analysis methods. The data used in this study is secondary and is derived from previous research and studies. As part of the data selection process, the researcher reviews various studies and studies that remain relevant to this research. Educators must be constantly improving themselves, advancing learning, and adapting to the changing needs of society in order to keep up with the rapid development of technology and information. Future educators need to possess numerous skills concerning life and career, learning and innovation, as well as media and technology skills in order to be able to meet the various challenges they will face in the future. As this generation grows with technology at their fingertips, their acceptance of technology and digitalization comes naturally. Various shifts in Computer Science teaching methodologies have been introduced over the past decades and game-based learning is one of the innovative-learning strategies to encourage interest and grasp the understanding of Gen Z’s learning. This study focuses on the gaming approach as an introduction to programming language in Computer Science subject to analyse the effectiveness of this style of learning in enhancing critical thinking and higher-order thinking among students. Forty-six gifted and talented students from the Digital Innovator Programme of Kolej GENIUS@Pintar Negara, UKM were evaluated in this study. The students were evaluated through four assessments throughout the years in their first year of studies. This approach has been proven to be effective in learning programming languages in enhancing critical thinking and higher-order thinking among students.
