Teacher’s Report

MODERN SCHOOL, Faridabad, initiated collaborative project,
Banking System with International Currency in the month of
May 2019, to discover about the various currencies used in the
countries of study –Canada, Nepal, Pakistan and Dubai.

As an initial step, students studied about the currencies of
countries mentioned and made Power Point Presentations.
The students made Project files on their conversion and
exchange rates. They also participated in Group Discussion
activity and Solved Worksheets.

We partnered with Shamsi Schools, Shamsi Society Campus,
Karachi, Pakistan, exchanged Power Point Presentations,
Project Files and the Feedback Report.

By the end of the project, the students gained understanding
about the difference between the domestic and International
values of currencies in the chosen countries and to analyse
the currency rates in the International market.

To make the students aware about
HEALTH AND HYGIENE, following
activities were conducted:

 Students and teachers discussed
about good habits, health and hygiene.

 Students participated in morning
assembly and spoke about healthy

up and health check-up.

 Students participated in cleanliness
drive in school premises.

AIM OF THE ACTIVITY

 The aim of the activity is to spread
awareness about cleanliness and
encouraging students to adopt methods of
health and hygiene of India and countries
of study (India, USA, and Australia).

 To create awareness about the health
status of the students and people around
them.

 To provide counselling for the various
health problems by a team of doctors.

 To evaluate and analyse difference
between healthy and poor habits.

 To appreciate and develop a sense of

Students along with teachers discussing about good habits, health
and hygiene of country of study. The students were encouraged to
adopt & sustain healthy life style and practices by Presentations.

The students were sensitized about the importance of washing
their hands before & after eating, playing and exercising daily.
The children learnt a lot from the session and promised to follow
all the good habits.

The students are solving the worksheets. They learnt the
importance of hygiene. Hygiene refers to good practices that
prevent disease and lead to good health, especially cleanliness. It
refers to all the activities that are done to improve and preserve,

maintain good health.

The main motto of this activity was to make the students aware
about how nutritious diet & good habits are helpful to live a
healthy life.

Doctors guiding the students about personal hygiene which is
very essential for promoting good health. The doctor counselled

the students about personal hygiene habits such as washing
hands, brushing and flossing their teeth, bathing daily,

trimming their nails regularly to keep illnesses at bay.

Activity – 3

Health & Hygiene

Modern School initiated different activities on “Health &
Hygiene” in the month of July and August to make the children
more aware of healthy habits followed in India and country of
study (USA& Australia) to maintain personal hygiene. The
activities were conducted in smart class, classroom, outdoor to
create an impact on the students regarding their personal hygiene
and cleanliness. A power point presentation was shown on the
different techniques used by the people of USA and Australia to
learn and inculcate in our country too.

The outdoor activity was fun filled and interesting as children
learnt about the use of different colours of dustbins. The dental &
health check-up was held to make them more aware of their health
condition. The children solved a worksheet on health and hygiene
based on their observations and also assessed each other and also
participated in different activities. By the end of the activity, the
students learnt good manners and also got aware ofthe importance
of health & hygiene.

DESCRIPTION OF THE THEME

Our ISA theme ‘Holistic Ecological view’ was started on high
spirit with briefing done by ISA coordinators.

We conducted special assembly in which a skit on our theme was
presented by our students. Then there was a display board and
poster making competition on bio degradable and non-degradable
the students prepared the dustbin of different colours GREEN,
BLUE, BROWN which helped to inculcate the habit of using dustbin
to maintain cleanliness.

Students also participated under the guidance of the teacher in
making the compost in the school campus. They learnt how
Composting is a biological process in which tiny organisms
(microbes) convert organic materials such as food scraps, leaves,
grass clippings, and paper) into nutrient- rich, soil-like products.
The students also organised a rally to circulate the message of
cleanliness and hygiene to keep ourselves healthy by displaying the
play cards in the rally.

AIM OF THE ACTIVITY

The aim of this activity is to create awareness amongst the public
and the awareness about the usage of renewable resources for
energy to protect the planet earth.

As we want our students to be truly global citizens equipped with
the information regarding the resources and respect for world skills
to take world issues to conserve non- renewable resources for
energy efficiency and sustainability to improve world economy,
climate and living standards of the global citizens.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

 The students will be able to connect to the natural
world and to learn about recycle and reuse of bio-
degradable and non- biodegradable substances,
identifying causes and pattern of its management.

 The learners will develop reasoning, argumentative
and criticizing that could help to check environmental
issues globally.

 They will understand and appreciate critical skills
and compare various methods of protecting
environment.
