The Annual Sports Day-'Khel Se Mel...embracing Unity through Sports,' for Grades VI-VIII was held on Friday, 22nd December, 2023. The festive atmosphere on the school greens was enhanced by the joyful Christmas cheer and melodious carol singing by the enthusiastic learners. The event opened with the hoisting of the school flag by the Vice-Principal, Ms. Ruchi Joshi, who inspired the students with her encouraging words, motivating them to participate with zeal and enthusiasm. The subsequent presentations showcased a diverse range of talents, including a mesmerizing Skating Dance, an Acrobatic Yoga display, a Basketball and Soccer drill demonstrating a remarkable blend of grace and skill, and an energetic Zumba session that had everyone grooving to peppy beats. The ceremonial segment of the event concluded with learners taking an oath, pledging to uphold principles of fair play, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The much-anticipated races and matches followed, featuring classic 100m sprints, obstacle races, zig-zag races, relay runs, and spirited matches on the Basketball and Table Tennis courts. PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME Academic Session 2024-25 Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram hosted its Annual Parent Orientation Programme on Saturday, February 10th, embracing the theme of new beginnings. Newly enrolled parents were greeted with vibrant performances by the students, showcasing their talents in yoga, skating, music, and more. School Patron Dr. Shayama Chona, a renowned Educationist and Padma Shri ,Padma Bhushan Awardee graced the event along with Ms. Sureena Uppal and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur. The programme began with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome from the Director-Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra, emphasizing the partnership between home and school for children's holistic development. Dr. Chona's session on parenting emphasized the importance of unconditional love and positive role modelling. The 'Odyssey of Learning' presentation by students provided insights into the school's ethos and the journey of its learners. The event concluded with an inspiring performance titled 'Urja… the Hero Within Us', blending dance and music. The farewell ceremony for the Batch of 2024 was held on 30th December 2023, based on the theme, ‘NOOR-E-QUAFILA’ symbolizing the enlightening journey of the graduating class, setting the tone for a celebration filled with joy and camaraderie. The vibrant proceedings began with the emcees warmly welcoming the Founder Director-Principal Ms Anita Malhotra, Vice Principals, Headmistresses, teachers, and the fabulous batch of ’24. They reflected on the incredible journey of their seniors, from nervous first steps to confident strides, emphasizing shared experiences and cherished memories. The round of celebrations was marked by a creative blend of riveting performances, including a thrilling game segment, enchanting dance performance titled Jashn-E-Mehfil, mellifluous singing, dance mashups and an instrumental presentation titled ‘Raga of memories’. Citation Ceremony – 2023-24 The Director-Principal in her address, shared some valuable life lessons that resonated with the audience. She reiterated the importance of strong roots that in turn support strong wings that ensures the learners achieve great feats in life, and encouraged them to "make a difference" in whatever they do. Following this, the Director-Principal and Vice Principal conferred citations upon the outgoing batch and the outgoing President and Vice President, Jaanvi Pande and Anirudh Govindan, delivered an insightful address, reflecting on their accomplishments and expressing gratitude. The event culminated with the Head Boy and Head Girl, Batch of 2024, Shaurya Aggarwal and Kaina Malik, delivering encouraging words to the graduating class to embrace future challenges, while the Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy 2023-24, Aaira Katoch and Ayaan Bhola, expressed gratitude, concluding the ceremony with a sense of nostalgia and celebration.

LOTUS SANSAD BOOTCAMP BY LEGISLATIVE RESEARCH Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram, collaborated with PRS Legislative Research for an engaging workshop on Parliament workings for Grades IX & XI on February 20th, '24. Led by Ms. Itika and Mr. Dhruv Taware, the session covered fundamental concepts, intervention techniques, and code of conduct, fostering interactive discussions and critical thinking. This workshop served as a platform to orient the learners about the Lotus Sansad Youth Parliament Event in March.

The learners transformed the stage into a kaleidoscope of colors, as the dancers gracefully transitioned from classical elegance to contemporary hip-hop moves. The students ardently showcased their talents and prowess in a skit, articulating the message that in a world often mesmerized by radiant lights and glossy exteriors, it's crucial to remember that appearances can be deceiving.. The assembly culminated with the felicitation ceremony honouring the winners of the events held at Suncity School, Gurugram. “To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity.” - Nelson Mandela National Minorities’ and National Farmers’ Rights days are celebrated on 18th December and 23rd December respectively, every year, as a poignant reminder to safeguard the rights of religious, ethnic, racial, and linguistic minorities and the rights of farmers in India. Championing these rights, learners of VI Beas and VI Godavari presented their class assembly, which began with offering prayers to the almighty. The highlight of the assembly was a powerful drama, based on the learners’ research that highlighted the challenges faced by the minority communities and the farmers. “A right delayed is a right denied.” 10th December is celebrated as both, International Human Rights Day and International Animal Rights Day as a reminder that all living beings deserve respectful and dignified lives. The learners of VI Narmada and VI Kaveri presented their class assembly on 15th December, 2023, on both the themes that encapsulate these special days. The day began with offering prayers to the almighty, followed by sharing some noble thoughts by famous personalities such as Anthony Douglas and Nelson Mandela. Learners of Kaveri conducted a quiz based on Human Rights and presented a ‘Nukkad Natak’ based on ‘Maanav Adhikar’.The ‘Mime act’ presented by the learners of Narmada displayed the dark reality of our society and how animals suffer at the hands of the very people who are supposed to take care of them. The learners presented a quiz and an activity based on comprehending “Braille”, wherein, the winning parents were awarded a medal for their enthusiastic participation. ‘Nukkad Natak’ based on the themes of Inclusivity and Humility, delivered the message that ‘Disability is not inability, but special ability.’ Choir and dance performances befitting the theme, uplifted the spirit of one and all. Unity, not uniformity, must be our aim. We attain unity only through variety. Differences must be integrated, not annihilated, not absorbed.” - Mary Parker Follett Echoing the thought presented above, learners of VI Ganges held their class assembly on ‘World Disability Day’ on 1 st December, 2023. This was followed by a compelling role-play, inspired by 'Shark Tank' that demonstrated success through unwavering focus and an engaging dance performance that captivated the audience. Director-Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra's and the Vice Principal, Ms. Ruchi Joshi’s wise words concluded the assembly, urging the learners to make a pledge to minimize distractions and channelize energy towards their aspirations with zeal, as amid life's chaotic dance, success hinges on honing focus. Beginning with a soulful morning prayer, the event featured global updates, and a heart-warming symphony.
