These came much later, with the evolution of humankind. Imaginary lines were drawn across the globe and instilled in the minds of the people. Instead of seeing what bonded us all together, we chose to see the differences. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam translates to ‘The world is one family’. It originates from ancient Indian scriptures and has been relevant ever since. Amid today’s fast-paced world, kindness often gets lost in the hustle of our everyday lives. This is why it is crucial to remind ourselves to be respectful to others and treat everyone with dignity. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam perfectly captures the essence of universal brotherhood and inclusivity of every member of the human race with the same compassion as we would with our family. It teaches us that regardless of someone’s ethnicity, race, caste or gender, we are all the same. By remembering the principles of Vasudhaiva Kutumabakam, we can create a brighter future, one where peace and harmony reigns over war and violence. Promoting critical values such as cooperation, unity and respect, allows for a better tomorrow. It is a reminder that every member of the human race is equal and should be treated as such. Udaipur, known as ‘The City of Lakes,’ is a vibrant destination that exudes old-world charm, serenity, and a royal touch blended with cultural fibre – all in the same breath. The crystal-clear lakes shimmering in the sunlight, majestic hills barricading the city, the rich heritage of the historical wonders, and the narrow streets thronged with small shops, eateries, and art exhibitions; all add to Udaipur’s refreshing charm. In the heart of this majestic city lies the City Palace adorned with intricate carvings depicting the history and culture. The cable car trip to the temple of the goddess Lakshmi atop a hill was one of the most exciting adventures. The breathtaking aerial view of the city at dawn looked like a masterpiece painted with orange and chrome hues. However, my favourite experience was having a moonlit dinner by the lakeside with my mom. Even though I was under the weather, enjoying the sky adorned with constellations, and moon’s light shining on the ripples of the lake was nothing less than meditative. I realized that travelling extends beyond sightseeing and the facade of luxury. It is about mental reset, enjoying every moment we can snatch from the humdrum of our busy lives, and realizing that happiness comes intending to feel alive.
