year and welcome the New Year.

We celebrate New Year doing different things. We go shopping.
We buy new clothes for New Year. The streets are decorated in

the street. We also sing and dance. We also say "Happy New

What is a job? A job is the work that one does. You are a student.
A teacher comes to you. She teaches you. That is her job. A bus
driver also does a job. Most people do jobs. They earn money by
doing jobs. However, all jobs are not for money.

For some jobs people don’t need to
go outside. They stay in a building
or an office and work. For an
example, teachers do not go outside.
They come to school. They go to the
classes and work inside a building.
Similarly, doctors don’t need to go
out for their job. They go to a hospital or a clinic.

Some people work in a same place most
of the time. For an example, teachers
work at the same building. In many
offices people use computers sitting at
the same place. An air hostess works
in a plane. She helps passengers in the
plane.

Some people have special uniform for
their jobs. For examples, police and
soldiers have uniforms. They have to
wear their uniforms while working.
Firefighters have special uniform. They
wear it to be safe from fire. Wearing
the uniform, firefighters can go to very
hot places.

Cities are always busy because many people
live here. There are many types of jobs in
cities. People work in shops, parks and
libraries. Chefs work in restaurants. They
cook food for the people.

Tourists come to
visit cities. Some
people help them to
learn about the city. Those who help the
tourists are tourist guides.

Cities are busy with
different types of vehicles. Many people work
as drivers here. The drivers who drive buses,
trains, taxies and other vehicles help us to go
from one place to another.

For some jobs,
people have to work outside. For

In countryside, many people work outside. Farmers work in the
