Our South High

Success is a journey, not a destination.
Happiness is to be found along the way,
not at the end of the road.

Anon

2

As all people go down the highway of life, they find many stopping points.
While some of these are insignifica nt, others leave vital impressions.

Fo r Southites, the stop at South High School should prove a particularly impor-
tant one because of its influence on their futures.

Fro m this large building , ma ny routes are open and lead to the destination
for which the individual's efforts and experiences have prepared him.

We feel singularly honored in having an except ional faculty at South High
School. Our teachers have inspired us wi th their evident knowledge a nd enthusiasm.
Their loyalty to the traditions which have made a nd will conti nue to make South t he
uniq:;e high school that it is,will be a ppreciat ed fa r into t he future.

Princ ipol Ric hord C . Krebs is shown addressing one o f the many fo cul ty assemblies held throughout
the yea r.

To me, South High School is not just a p lace
where we train mi nds in reading, writing, and
arithmetic. It is a living institutio n where the
character and the hearts of men are mo lded.

It is o ur hope t ha t the ide als for wh ich your
school stands may always b e a living fo rce in your
lives.

Our best wishes for a happy future.

Mr. Krebs is shown above as so many Southites see him . set an example of

As this picture indicates, Mr. Krebs takes an
octive part in all our school events. Here he is

Don't get o n a dead-end road on the High-
way of Life. Select worth-while goals a s early as
you can. No matter what yo ur aims and desires
might be, you wi ll do better if you set your
sights and plan your course . School is more mean-

Our first big social event was the

October 13. The second event, one wh ich nearly every Southite attended, was the footb all game
held at Municipal Stadium, Friday evening . The "Fantasyland" them0 was carried out d uri ng t he
half time ceremony, which featured va rious fai ry ta le characters. Last and most exciting was t he
coronation and dance held the following evening in the colorfu lly d0corated school g ym.
