May Fete to the student body
and have a night of fun and
laughter.
HOW? Dressed in merry masquerade
costumes.
The Preparatory Band opened the
concert with "Anchors Aweig h," "Over
the Rainbow," "Jeanie," and " Down the
Field ."
Adding to the program, the Dixieland Band Jean Ri c h a r d
p layed,,two song s: " Milenberg Joys" and "Cop en- Lynum Kra l
hagen.

The annual instrumental concert, "The
Spring. Swing," under the direction of
Hamilton B. Smith, was held in South's new
auditoriu m on the evening of April 25 at
8 P.M.
Soloists featu red in the program were
Robert Pipal clarinetist ; Jean Lynum, voca l-
ist; and Richard Kral. trumpeter.

The 1962 Senior Prom was held in the
Peony Park Ballroom on the evening of
May 18.
Eddie Haddad and his Orchestra

to midnight, but the highlight of the oc-
casion was the coronation of the South
High Prom king and queen.
Elections to choose the royal couple
were held during t he fourth hour lunch
period on May 16, and the result of the
balloting was kept a strict secret until the

Coach Robert Murray's golf team finished its season on May 18 with a victory over Tech High. O n Mon-
day of that week, at Spring Lake Park, t he Packer golfers upset the Westside Warriors to secure a_second place
tie with Westside in the final Intercity standings. South's 5-2 record was topped by Creighton Prep which finished
its season with six wins and one loss. 14
