Following the Senior Class elections on March 7 and 8, the duties of t he elected
officers and appo inted sponsors began in earnest. Among these duties were making
arrangements for the Senior Prom, on May 18; the Senior Picnic, on May 29; the
Bacca laureate Servi ce, on Ju ne 3; and the Commencement Exercise, on June 8.
At these functions, the sponsors and officers supervised the details of t he
events and acted as hosts and hostesses.
As their reward fo r services -rendered, the officers had' t he privilege of leading
t heir class at Commencement and receiving their diplomas before all other 1962
graduates.
