Teaching and Learning Procedures Warm up (5 minutes) 1. The teacher has the students play a quick ball game so that the teacher and the students quickly know the names of class members by having the person who holds the ball first say his name with the phrase “My name's …’’ and then ask What's your name? Then pass the ball to the next student, who answers and asks the same sentence until the whole room. 2. The teacher asks the students what the word costume means and asks questions about inviting them to the event. Presentation (15 minutes) 3. Choose three numbers from 1 – 20, then pair them. Q&A about the selected numbers, and have the first student say a number from 1 to 20. The other students close their book, write the number heard in letters. Then ask a friend to verify the accuracy, then they switched roles. 9. The teacher has the students look at the example of exercise 2a, and then write the words in the correct order. 10. Teacher plays audio script 1.03 for students to listen and check answers. Teaching and Learning Procedures Warm up (5 minutes) 1. The teacher reviews the English alphabet by starting with A and having the students say the next letter. The teacher writes on the board the following sound symbols /ei/, /i/, /e/, /ai/, /ou/, /u/, /ar/. The teacher pronounces the sound symbols to the students, and then practice pronouncing accordingly. Then have students pair up to help each other find out which letters correspond to which sound symbols. Presentation (15 minutes) 2. The teacher has the students look at the pictures in the textbook, page 10 – 11, then look at the phrases. The teacher has the students pair up and exchange Q&A to tell as many objects in the picture as possible. 3.
