Mother Nature

There is a reason why,
Earth is called Mother Nature,
She nurtures us and boons us with her fruits,
She gives us water and protects us.

There is a reason why,
Earth is called Mother Nature,
She keeps on giving us love from her heart,
When we are sad and gloomy, she sends us robins and chirping birds.

There is a reason why,
Earth is called Mother Nature,
And how that our Mother Earth is suffering from cough and cold?
Didn’t we take care of our Mother Earth?

Let’s all come together and help her by giving love and care,
So, that she can once again breathe the fresh air,

So that she can again nurture her children with care.
This is a reason why; Earth is called Mother Nature.

A Restaurant at Home

You may think that five months ago when we first hear ‘Corona virus’, we could
never imagine that in two months we will be in lockdown and we could ever have
online classes. So, I will be telling you something interesting, memorable and
funny. It all started not a long time ago. I wanted to eat pizza and junk food; I
mean mummy… food. So, I kept reminding my parents about it.
“I want to eat yummy food.
Mom said, you have to make it. I will ask your baba (my father) to help you.

After a month, I was exhausted. I really wanted a change in my food. So, I decided
to make on my own. For the rest of the day, I watched YouTube cooking videos.
Next day I made the Pizza base, I asked my baba Pizza sauce. He agreed as long
as I gave him a share. I agreed for it. At last, with the help of my baba My Pizza
is ready. I couldn’t believe. It really tasted great. From then on, I could make
pizza, a muffin cake, Cookies and last frosting. Sometimes it worked. However, I
tried it until it worked. From then, it’s been a “Restaurant at home”.

My Experience in Lockdown

Before the lock down days which started in March, I still remember how I used
to have a good time with all my Friends playing, cycling and what not!
But now I am spending all time inside in my house with television and online
school in laptop.
Months back in school we used to wait for the dearest bell to ring which used to
tell us that it`s time to go home and now everything is happening through a
laptop where I see and listen to all my teachers and classmates. Thanks to
technology which is helping us to keep our learning go on.
But some kids can`t learn in this situation.
And last year when Novel Corona virus (covid-1) don't exist I could not
understand anything about computers, but now I know all about it. Like how I
learned about computers teachers also learning this new way of teaching.
This Novel Corona virus (covid-1) has totally changed are way of living and I
respect the doctors who are giving their life for other people. It has also brought
some positive changes but not corona virus positive!

Novel Corona virus (covid-1) has made changes in my life like now I am spending
more time with my parents and little sister. It has also reduced pollution and are
mother earth is recovering.
My best memorable moment was my birthday party online again a new way of
celebrating a birthday.
I celebrated my birthday with my cousins and grandparents.
Last but not the least corona and made so many changes in life!
Thank you!!

My Dear Meow……. Meow………

Today, I made a new friend my “Black Panther” ha… ha… it’s not a panther, it’s
a Cat. She comes every morning when we have milk. Then disappears all the day,
we give her biscuits and she loves them.
One day, I saw having with her a mouse. I suddenly realized she has grown up.
I was doubting that now she won’t be coming in the morning for biscuits, to my
surprise she has come and I was very happy. Now, she started coming in the
evening also. I was very happy. We use to talk to her in her own
language meaw…..meaw……and she use reply to us again
saying meaw…..meaw……
One day all of sudden, she stops coming. We were thinking that she has lost her
way. I was missing her a lot, but suddenly I saw her at lunch time. I was happy
she was having lunch with watchman. Now a days I am surprised, she is not
coming to our home, but we can listen her meaw…meaw…… sound from
our Neighbour's house and now she started liking our neighbor aunt's curd rice.
Wherever she is…… I am happy that, she is SAFE!!

My Response to Pandemic

As you all know that the pandemic COVID-19 has affected the whole world and
there was lockdown everywhere. Some people thought how bad this pandemic is
and how we are stuck in the house. But few saw it from a different view, they told
it was good as the pollution has reduced so much that you could see Himalayan
mountains from Punjab. I saw it from a good view. Because during the
lockdown, I developed a number of different hobbies, like reading, drawing, Lego
and solving Rubic cube. These have improved me in many different ways like
reading helped me improve my speaking skills and Lego improved my
imagination as I built my own boat without help of manual. I used to get
bored sometimes but, I always tried something new and I got fascinated by it and
that’s how I developed so many hobbies. Then in June online school started. It
was totally a new experience to take virtual classes, do homework projects and
assignments online on Word or PowerPoint. But eventually I got the hang of it
in a few weeks then it felt just like normal school. But still sometimes I feel
offline school was better as I could meet my friends and teachers and do a lot of
activities in the school. So, I’d like to advise my friends who are getting bored to
try more and more innovative things so you find which suits you best and make
it your hobby and enjoy your time.

Important Facts about Vaccination

Definition of vaccination:
Vaccination is a simple, safe, and effective way of
protecting people against harmful diseases, before
they come into contact with them. It uses your
body’s natural defences to build resistance to
specific infections and makes your immune
system stronger.

Importance of Vaccination:
Vaccination is a safe and effective way to prevent disease and save lives – now
more than ever. Today there are vaccines available to protect against at least 20
diseases, such as diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, influenza and measles. Together,
these vaccines save the lives of up to 3 million people every year.

157 |Shri Darpan

When we get vaccinated, we aren’t just protecting ourselves, but also those
around us. During the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccination continues to be critically
important. The pandemic has caused a decline in the number of children receiving
routine immunizations, which could lead to an increase in illness and death from
preventable diseases.
How does it work?
Vaccines reduce risks of getting a disease by working with your body’s natural
defences to build protection. When you get a vaccine, your immune system
responds. It:

• Recognizes the invading germ, such as the virus or bacteria.
• Produces antibodies. Antibodies are proteins produced naturally by
the immune system to fight disease.
• Remembers the disease and how to fight it. If you are then exposed to
the germ in the future, your immune system can quickly destroy it before
you become unwell.
The vaccine is therefore a safe and clever way to produce an immune response in
the body, without causing illness.
Why to get vaccinated:
Without vaccines, we are at risk of serious illness and disability from diseases like
measles, meningitis, pneumonia, tetanus and polio. Many of these diseases can be
life-threatening. WHO estimates that vaccines saves  between 2 and 3 million
lives every year.
Two key reasons to get vaccinated are to protect ourselves and to protect those
around us. Because not everyone can be vaccinated – including very young babies,
those who are seriously ill or have certain allergies – they depend on others being
vaccinated to ensure they are also safe from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Being Positive in Tough Times

Covid-19 when I heard this first time. I am scared at that time my mother went
to an official tour to Goa. I called my mother and asked her to come back
immediately. After few days loch down is declared and Schools, Offices, Malls
everything was shutdown.

During this summer holidays we planned to visit the USA where my uncle and
aunt stays and also planned to visit many beautiful places like Disney land etc….
However, after hearing about lock down I was little disappointed but on the other
side I was happy as my parents were staying at home and started working from
home. So, I got more time to spend with my parents.
During lock down days, I use to play some card games like sequence, UNO, board
games like monopoly, guessing games and lot more every day at night.
I love painting and craft work. So, every day I use to do painting or pencil art,
take the picture and share it with my family members and relatives in watts app
group. I conducted treasure hunt games for my family members and it was of
great fun.
My father after his office hours use to try his hand in cooking special chicken
recipes for the family and I noted most of those recipes. I use to give rating based
on the taste of the dish. It was very fun.
This lockdown allowed me to spend most of the time with my parents,
family members and I enjoyed it completely.
I am lucky enough to have everything at home to stay safe.

Unlocking The Lockdown

Quarantine, the name itself develops chills all over us …it’s the most used word
from past 4 months…But could anyone imagine that this period could be so much
full of fun? Yes for me every day of this quarantine / lockdown time was filled
with fun, love, laughter and lots of learning.
Every single day of this period is a memorable one, if I have to select and write
about one day then that would be April 25th. This day me and my sister baked a
cake for my parents’ anniversary. The whole experience of baking cake with help
of my mom was amazing. I just can’t explain the tension and excitement we had
till the cake was baked completely. We spent the whole day playing ludo,
watching my parents wedding CD, making greeting card for them and trying to
make their day special.
All our efforts was fruitful when my parents appreciated us for all that we had
done for them and their happiness had no limits. This day will remain as the most
unforgettable day for me.
Many people would have had many such memories in this quarantine. So one
way the quarantine has helped all of us in creating more bonding and memories
with our family

Benefits of Walking

“Walking is good for you. Switch off the music and let’s go for a walk.” My
mother’s lines every night after dinner, followed by a grunt and a tide of protests
from me. I would try all the tricks in my hat to avoid it. Then came Corona, first
few days of lockdown were good. I was happy. Our community laid down a set of
rules. The best of those was ‘Residents are hereby requested to avoid any
walking/ jogging /cycling / skating on all walkways inside the community.’ The
first ten days, all I did was listen to music day and night. Day 11, I began to miss
my walks. Every night when I filled my calendar, I asked my mother when the
lockdown would end. Day 15, I yearned to go out and started waiting for the
lockdown to end. Then came the sad news ‘lockdown in extended.’ On TV, I and
my mother saw that many people were coming up with new ways of adding
movement to their daily life. It was inspiring to watch them and we started trying
different things watching such shows. This was when I realized the value of my
freedom to walk. By the time, the lockdown came to an end, I was all up and ready
for my walks. I don’t complain anymore when it is time to go for a walk.

My Lockdown Days

Today, I am going to tell you all few memorable moments since lockdown, here
goes- it was the middle of April, I couldn’t think what to do. But my brother came
to me with an idea. He said ‘Akka, I think we should play bed fight’ I thought it
was a brilliant idea I said okay, you must be wondering what bed fight is, here’s
your answer- bed fight is fighting on a bed but much more than that. RULES
AND REGULATIONS-
1. You must not sit up or use your hands, you sleep to play
2. you must cross your hands on your chest
3. you should not kick where you are not supposed to.
And that’s the game it was so much fun Abhi, my brother, and I played three
rounds I won the last and Abhi won the first two. About a week later, my mum
called and said ‘let’s make mini-Choco lava cakes’ I agreed we watched the video
and made the cakes. When they were in the oven me and my brother played a few
more rounds and after that we ate the cakes with delight. In the starting of May
my father found out how to make pizza including the dough without yeast at
home. We enjoyed pizza at home throughout May. After a while my sister came
to visit, we played bed fight with her too. I also started working on my 3rd book
as my second book got delayed. Three words- I liked lockdown.

Exploring My Baking Skills

In the lockdown I learned to do many new things that I never learned in my life.
Like cooking, baking, DIY’S, making key chains, home decoration and room
decoration. At the first day of lockdown, I was so bored so my mother gave me a
thought to learn something new. I ran to my mum and hugged her and asked her
to teach me baking today and guess what we started baking it was my first baking
cupcakes. First my mother and me brought all the things needed. but I mistakenly
brought wheat flour instead of all purpose flour and we had to start all again.
While baking the cake we played with the flour and I also dropped some of the
milk on the floor and it became a very cute and small puddle. I also managed to
jump in the puddle even though it was too small for me. After making the batter
we poured it into the cupcake molds and then kept it in the oven and went and
made the frosting for the cupcakes. we made three colors of the frosting – Blue,
Purple and Pink. I loved baking cakes with my mother and then a beep came the
cupcakes were done! I got so happy. Then we started keeping the frosting on the
cupcakes while keeping the frosting I ate some of it.

My Sister’s Birthday

I want to share a memorable moment that happened at my home during this
pandemic situation where people cannot go out unless required. It was my sister’s
second birthday which we earlier planned in a function hall by inviting all the
guests but now we have to make it at our home with my family alone.
We kept balloons and her favourite toys all over the bed and a new dress to
surprise her. We brought her out of the room in a toy car and everyone in the
family wished her. Next most important thing is baking a cake. This was the first
time we tried baking cake at home, and I thought it would be a flop. Luckily it
was delicious. Later we decorated the living room with balloons and banner.
Evening we had a cake cut and our relatives joined over a video call and captured
nice photos and then had a delicious dinner.

How Gaming Helped Me During Lockdown!

I woke up late because the was no school and I wanted to play with my friends,
but I realized it was lockdown and I made things like Iron man’s mask, Captain
America’s shield, Spiderman’s iron arms and T hors hammers. I played games
like Frisbee, Roblox and Call of duty. I learnt many things by Byju’s learning
App and minvo learn to code. I like Roblox because we can make any games.
I did many experiments like transferring water with tissues, and making a
gigantic explosion with water. I watched movies like Avengers. I drew cars and
different cartoon characters. My mom made Chicken pizzas and Chocolate cakes
that I love to eat. I played video games, Fifa Football, fortnite and world of tanks.
I had spectacular shock of online classes. First it was boring and then it was like
school at home. However, I like to go to school because I can play football in the
ground. I also read Panchatantra books every night before I sleep.

- Havish Nara V B

Positivty in Chaos

Although lockdown started very excitingly as I went to my native place to stay
with my grandparents. It became boring as I was not attending school and
meeting friends. I started reading books and learning new crafts and paintings.
I did an experiment on surface tension on water and soap and shared with my
friends. As I was not going out I could speak with my friends and staff in my
hospital and maintain social distance. I also learnt about various medicines when
my parents were discussing and also Covid 19. After watching news about the

168 |Shri Darpan

hardships of the labourers we decided to help them by donating money and food.
We also went to donate groceries to the temple priests.
I read Bhagvadgita as promised to my grandfather. My grandfather said that he
will spend for my trip if I complete all the slokas. I also read Panchatantra stories
and Math puzzle books.
I enjoy bed time stories which my father tells me often. I also enjoy the school
activities like dance and music. I like to do it along with my brother and sister.
Me and my sister learnt abacus from my uncle.

-Laasya D V B

My Birthday Surprise!

You must be thinking how awful it is to have your birthday in lockdown. Guess,
I had my birthday in this ‘wonderful’ lockdown. I am going to tell you all about
it.
My birthday started off like any other birthday. My parents were sitting beside
me singing the happy birthday song. I got ready and went to my first class. Before
you read what happened next let’s rewind back to a few days before. I had asked
my dad for a Nerf gun. He said he will buy it after the lockdown. But I came back
after the class and it was lying on the chair, a big transparent glory of a weapon
with a light savor beside it.
After the last class of the morning, I played with my new toys until my mom
made cheese burgers for lunch. They were awesome. After school relatives were
calling me and wishing Then in the evening, I decided to play my new video
game. Then I heard blowing of balloons and my mom was hanging the iron man
drawing on the wall. There was a cake ready on the table and my parents invited
al the relatives on google meet. It was PARTY TIME!
So when there is another lockdown, make sure to make the best use of it.

Bored, I sat down on a desk telling my friend, Saanvi, “cleaning is so boring, I

Machined cloned into a portable remote, with all functions. Then as decided we
fast forwarded time and finished cleaning, at school, after the teacher told the

answer to the test, we re winded time and got full marks in our tests. Well done!!

We proclaimed. It was a great day after all.

he was tired and hungry from the long walk he laid down on the dusty bed and
fell asleep. After some time, he heard some weird and creepy noises coming from
right outside the hut and the door to the hut was opened. He was scared at first
but was glad after he saw his father along with his friends. He cried out happily

My Lockdown Birthday

I woke up early feeling very excited and happy because it was my birthday. I got
up and brushed my teeth as fast as possible and ran out of the rooms to find all
the rooms were decorated. My parents stayed till 1:00, instantly I gave them a
hug. I had a few relatives living upstairs, they came down and wished me A Happy
10th birthday. A milestone birthday. They sand birthday song in telugu. My mom
applied oil on my hair and I took my bath and went upstairs and ate my breakfast.
My uncle made my favourite things. I played with the babies for sometime. When
they went to sleep, I started reading comics. 3 guests who were close relatives
came risking their safety for me. Their son Shlok went to play with my sister
Raaga. Shortly after that I had my lunch – all my favourite prepared by my mom.
I would have invited many people for the party but because of Covid no one could
came. They all sent their heart warming wishes. I watched TV
for sometime. Then my mom came with a big chocolate cake made with 10
different chocolates- amazing! We had paneer and dal makhani for dinner. We
looked at some old pictures of 2015, 2016, 2017. After the guests left, I went to
sleep happy because of what everything everyone did. Thank you!

A Memorable Chapter from My Quarantine Diary

Who likes staying at home? I do not. But I have not been getting bored.
Because, these days, I have been reading a lot and started loving it.  I also have
been studying.  The best part is reading newspapers and watching television with
my parents. I liked helping my parents in dusting, sweeping,
mopping, baking, and making breakfast.  I wish they let me do all these on my
own.
But who likes quarantine? I do not.  Because I could not go swimming. Because
I could not do any fun activities this summer. I miss going to school, I miss going

173 |Shri Darpan

down to play with my friends. This summer has been the worst summer ever, but
it is also a unique summer because of the covid-19.

But who likes quarantine? I do not. Because I could not celebrate my
10th birthday as planned!  I was looking forward to my 10th birthday.  Because I
was expecting my best friend from Pune and my sister from Sydney to join the
celebration. Sad They could not make it to Hyderabad because of the covid-19
travel ban. But I kind of liked my birthday because it was different from others.

I do not understand why a germ, which gets killed by a normal soap, could
turn our lives upside down. But we adapt. And life goes on. Even our school,
through online.

We stay in my home Avatar, a gated community in Hyderabad in the last
few days there is a huge surge in covid-19 cases in our society. The covid affected
families find it difficult to cook their food, so we come together to support

our neighbors for daily food needs including breakfast, lunch, and dinner as per

their choice free of cost. Which will help them focus on their health and get well

soon.

We encourage you to implement our model in your community and enjoy the

bliss of community living.

      My Lockdown World

The World around me is buzzing with the news of covid-19. The virus
which originated from Wuhan made its way into India. Since its inception, it has
spread like a wildfire and there seems to be no end to it. This virus has brought
so many lifestyle changes. It taught us our old customs like sanitizing (washing
hands) hands, washing feet after coming from outside, no shake hands instead
wish namaste, etc.
We have witnessed lockdown; night curfew also saw countless
people dying. During the pandemic, one good thing that happened in nature is
that nature rejuvenated itself. We could see rivers like Ganga and Yamuna
flowing without dust and other impurities. Air pollution decreased.

174 |Shri Darpan

Everyone spent with their family quality time. played games, watched old serials
like Ramayana, Mahabharat, etc.
Students learned new technology by attending online classes.

-Vedansh Joshi V C

                                                                          My Inspiration

MS Dhoni is my inspiration. I remember the first time I came to know about
him was when my parents took me to watch the movie made on his life. As I saw
the hard work MS Dhoni had put in to reach the top, I wanted to know more. I
started watching and following him in all his matches and read a lot about him.

It was hard for me to tell at first, why I was so inspired by his life. That
took me to my love for cricket. I could connect with him as I connected with the
game. What inspired me the most was his attitude? His demeanor even in the
toughest of situations was calm and he used to think with a cool head. This earned
him the title ‘Captain Cool’. It is one of the best things about him. He puts his
brain and heart into the game and thinks with a calm mind to achieve success.
That is what inspires me the most. He is one of the main reasons I have taken up
cricket and strive to do well on the field. His determination is something I hope
to have one day. He has taught me that if you believe in yourself, you can achieve
anything.

He is my inspiration and my motivation to never stop trying, never give up,
and doing the best I can. I hope to be playing for the Indian Cricket team one

My Hero

Count down has begun, 1hr - 30 mins - 10 mins- 5 mins - 2 mins…. and
here comes my COVID warrior. My dad my Hero. My dad is a patriot who is
working selflessly as a front-line warrior during this COVID Pandemic. It all
began on 2nd April 2020 when my dad got a call from the Telangana govt
followed by Care hospital requesting his services in building isolation wards for
the COVID-affected patients at Hyderabad.

My Hero (My dad) willingly accepted the contract, despite the short
deadline given. On 5th April we moved to my grandparents’ home since my dad
wanted to give his 100% to the project and complete the same in the shortest
time. That was the last day, I saw him. Mom and I did not want him to be worried
about us since the Govt and the Hospital authorities needed him more than us.

He faced several hurdles in the way but never gave up. He worked tirelessly
day in and day out to complete the wards. He had a dedicated team of 43
employees (Designers, Medical consultants, Civil team, Labor,
and housekeeping staff).

Thanks to the digital platform, I was able to connect with my dad. we used
to have video calls once a week since he was so busy with his work. Finally, the
day had come when I was going to meet my dad in person. My Joy had no
bounds.

I am so proud of my dad. He is the reason why the cured patients are back
home with their loved ones. We as a family did our part to make sure we saved
during this pandemic. This was indeed a proud and a memorial moment.

WORLD".

My Christmas Morning

A Magical Gift

It was ‘Christmas Morning’, and I am overly excited to see the gift that
Santa gave me in my stocking. I wished for a thing that would help me travel
anywhere I want in 1 second. When I came near my stocking, there was a tiny gift
for me. I was very curious to know what it was inside. When I opened it there
was a watch which was shining and had many colorful buttons. When I pressed
one of the buttons it took me to London and when I pressed one more button I
was back home. I was incredibly happy to get the gift that I wanted. It was the
best gift I have ever got for Christmas.

It’s Simple to be Happy!

Who isn’t sad about the lockdown? Well, every one of us. When the lockdown
was announced, I was happy that I had visited my best friend just a few days back.
We had a lot of fun playing with his little brother. I was looking forward to our
summer vacations, which generally see me swimming, playing with friends, have
a lot of ice cream and so many other things. When I got to know that there was
going to be a nationwide lockdown, I was sad.
We all started staying locked at home, no going out and it seemed like no fun
initially. Then, we all started working together. We distributed the chores
amongst ourselves and were enjoying lending each other a helping hand. We
spent a lot of time with each other, which never happened on normal days as my
dad had late working hours. Working together with mom and dad, I learned to
cook many dishes like parathas, roti, Maggie, bread pizza. I baked with my mom
and played a lot of games with my dad. I felt good to see my dad helping mom in
whichever way possible.
The lockdown has seen a few traditions come up in our family. A tradition of
‘Family Movie Night’ which we look forward to every week.
I had an incredibly special virtual birthday with my friends, family, and teachers.
It was amazing.

The lockdown has taught me to find happiness in the smallest things that we
have.

My Memorable Day

It was a sunny and joyful holiday when I was happily playing with my cousins
at my grandparent’s home. At that moment we heard shocking news on a news
channel. The news reporter proclaimed that there would be a complete lockdown
throughout India due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At that moment, I felt
incredibly sad and disappointed. So, I and my family immediately left for our
home place. I felt very frustrated and sad as we were not able to go out to have
fun.
All the shops were closed, and police were guarding each street. People can
come out of their house only for buying food and daily needs that too, only till 9
am. Days passed, and I have been observing an old policeman, who has been
guarding our area for the past one week, not even having one-second break in
doing his work He was not even able to buy food. I felt pity for him. So, one day
I and my father were just finished buying the groceries than before we left, we
bought some food for the old policeman and offered him. He felt incredibly happy.
We also bought food for two more officers in our area. I felt incredibly happy for
giving food to them. I hope that their families are safe and healthy. I am waiting
very eagerly for the day when the pandemic stops, and things come back to
normal.

Max's Gamer Surprise

Once there was a gamer who loved gaming and playing Minecraft. His name
was Max, and he was a champion player at the state level. One day he was
playing, and he broke his gaming remote control, and after that, he went to a
shop and bought a new one. He played on that remote control for five months,
and after that, he wondered, "I have played on this remote control for five
months, and I have never pressed on this blue button." Then he pressed the
button, he got teleported, not his character in gaming but the real him in real
life. Then he got teleported into his game. He was astonished. He checked his
clothes, blinked his eyes, and then jumped, but every action he did was in the
game. He went and touched the play button, and he opened a new world to be
safe and not spawn any Minecraft mob that would kill him, and he would be
safe. He made the mode peaceful and put on cheats just in case he needed any
diamonds or rewards. Max finally started the game. He first went for supplies
like wood, cobblestone, axes, and pickaxes. Then Max wanted to know if his
character could die and respawn without getting hurt. As he knew that he was
the best gamer in the world, even going to dangerous places and beating
Minecraft, but he won't die. So, Max wanted to do it, immediately he went into
a pool of water and stayed there for a long time so he could drown, every time
he got a heart reduced, he didn't feel hurt. Max tried not to die; otherwise, he
would lose all his resources, so he changed the difficulty from peaceful to
normal, and then he went forward. Max did all the things to beat Minecraft,

182 |Shri Darpan

going to the nether, getting resources from there, and going to the end to

defeat the ender dragon. After that he felt so happy, he was going to cry. He
then exited the game, and to his surprise, he saw the same blur button from
before, so he pressed on it, and exited the game, then that's when he went back

into real life.
He was amazed if this was a dream or not. He could not believe it. Max wanted
to tell this to everyone but realized that he wanted to be the only one to have
control. So he kept it secret. Max then went to the shop, took his remote

control along with him, and told the shopkeeper about it. The shopkeeper said,
"I don't believe you!" "I remember that a lady gave this to me and she said it's
special but, Nah, I didn't believe her. Either you are lying, or are you getting
paid by that lady to tell me this." Max said, "No, I think she's right." The

shopkeeper said, "Just leave now!" Max said, "Fine." Then he left the shop. He
was just so excited as a young man in his teens. He had never been this excited

in his entire life.

(So, let me tell you, sometimes when a miracle happens, something will always
make your life even better. But for Max, he may or may not have become a

country level champion in gaming.)

How will I Make the World a Better Place?

I will make the world a better place by planting trees, using disposable
materials, using windmill energy, recycling and decrease use of technology
because of land pollution, air pollution, water pollution, carbon dioxide levels
increasing, hole in ozone layer, soil erosion, more use of plastic and wastage of
water. It is important to take care of our home planet and to make it a better
place to live in for all the living organisms. We should not waste

• Money
• Water
• Time
We should use solar energy and decrease the use of paper because the more
paper we waste the more trees have to be chopped which decreases oxygen
levels in the atmosphere and we have to decrease the use of fire crackers in
festivals because it causes air pollution, stop using plastic and stop wasting
food. We should
• Conserve water
• Drive less
• Use less paper
• Be generous
Conserve water-taking long showers and keeping the tap on while brushing
are indulgences that negatively impact our world. try to limit your water
usage by timing how long we have to use water running and trying to beat
that time next time we turn on the faucet.
Drive less-even the use of hybrid vehicles contributes to carbon emissions,
greenhouse gasses, and reduced air quality. take a moment to consider how
we can use your personal vehicles less. We could carpool or take public
transport to work, walk to nearby stores or use a cycle.
Use less paper-our forest are being cut down at an alarming rate. Conserve
the trees by conserving paper. send an e-mail instead of a letter, type
directions instead of writing them down and bring your own fabric shopping
bag to the store.
Be generous-it’s easy to be selfish with your time, money and resources by
getting caught up in our material –driven societal expectations, try being
generous and see how our life changes, buy coffee for you and the person
behind you, read to children at the library or simply help others.

Corona

Corona is a festival, a festival like non other.
This festival starts after Holi and lasts for many days. All live together in the
house. School is closed for months. Exams are cancelled. Shops, offices are all
closed. Everyone celebrates this festival by lighting lamp, ringing bells and
drumming plates. Corona festival is celebrated by wearing face masks,
sanitizing, doing Namaste and doing social distance. This festival is very weird.
People pray for this festival to finish. We all attend our classes from laptop. We
can’t even visit our relatives. During this festival Papa wears a banyan and
moves around the, cleaning it while mummy cooks and looks into her phone.
This is the world’s biggest festival. It has been going on for one year. For this
festival to end we need to take corona vaccine. I don’t like this festival, do you?

The Man Who Stole Things

Once upon a time a man got bored so he started steeling things of others so one
day he came to my house and found few things and stole them but one day, I
made a trap out of cans and waste materials. So, I called the police and I caught
him.
Moral of the story: -
Never think that waste materials are waste they are really helpful in hard
times.

Three Questions, Two Girls

Once upon a time there was a girl whose name was Swapna and she wanted to
change India for good, but she didn’t have a clear vision… Sometimes
she wanted to become a doctor, sometimes a pilot and sometimes an IAS officer
(Indian Administrative Services). She did well in school, but when it came to
college, she was not sure which one to go to. Finally at the last minute, she
chose computer engineering. After collage, She prepared for the IAS
interview…There they asked her 3 questions- “Why do you want to change
India?” “What do you want to change in India?” and “How do you wish to
implement that change” Swapna didn’t know what to answer because from the
start she was always doubtful and didn’t really have a plan. So, since she was
not able to answer these questions, they did not choose her for the job. She was
embarrassed, and instead of trying again, she settled for an ordinary IT job.
Meanwhile, another girl named Akshara. Akshara was just like Swapna, but she
had a clear goal and she started preparing for the interview since 8th class and
chose computer engineering well in advance. When it was time for her
interview, she was confident. The interviewers asked her the same questions,
and she answered them in a flash, she said- “I want to change India for the good
of the people, I want to improve the roads condition, increase the literacy rate,
decrease pollution, make sure people are employed, etc. And I wish to do so by
repairing roads, building schools, promoting electric/battery cars, starting new
businesses, building hospitals and more. This reply impressed the interviewers,
and she got the job! Both Swapna and Akshara started out the same but one got
the job, this was because Akhara prepared early, was confident and had faith in

her choices, while Swapna did not. This one thing made a big impact in both
their lives. Always be confident, stay positive and have a clear goal.
Thank you and namaste,

Artificial Intelligence

AI means Artificial Intelligence that can talk with you and can control your
television, lights and other appliances. However, in future we will get more
advanced AI. We should control the AI system otherwise it gets out of control
then it can harm you or it may help you. There are two cases, if case one
happens then human will extinct but in case case two happens then AI will help
us all.

My Favourite Sparkling Saturday

My favourite sparkling Saturday was the very first one. It was also Father’s Day
and the task was to make and have breakfast with your father. We
made Sabudana Vada, Idly Fry and Lemon Juice with little help from me. It was
special to me because it was the only Sparkling Saturday which my father
attended with me. I had made a greeting card in our arts class which I gave to
my father during the session. Each student made a team with their father figure
and then all the teams played Memory Game. I was super excited as our team
came first in that game.
I wish all the sparkling Saturdays are like this!

I am a Rainbow

I am a rainbow because of the red color dress I wear, the orange color I love, the
yellow flower I planted, the green trees I see, the blue sky I am beneath, the
indigo ruby that I bought, and most of all violet, the color of my bow.

Oh! My dear Rainbow, never leave me alone. You are my life.

Losing Their Homes

Forest!
When I first think about Forest, I remember lots and lots of trees, lots of
greenery, waterfalls, wetlands, monkeys clinging to branches, snakes and other
creepers crawling on the ground, herbivores grazing on the pastures and
many more. Forests are the homes for many animals. Animals have made small
places into their homes like Bears live in caves, Snakes stay in holes, Lions live
in Den, monkeys on trees, birds in nests etc. Almost every animal life in Forest
as they feel safe there.

194 |Shri Darpan

Do you Know why they feel safe? It is because they have so many friends

around. We feel very safe at our homes, right? Likewise, animals also feel very
safe at forest. But you know, we Human beings are main reason for the
destruction of animal homes. We cut down trees to earn money with

woods, construct new buildings with new cities etc.

But I think if the same thing happens to me my life becomes miserable and
hopeless. Let us all take the pledge to conserve trees and let animals stay in

their natural homes safely.

The Little Pup

On the red rooves,

We heard pattering hooves
When we looked up,
We saw a little pup

It was so cute,
No matter, we became mute
Its tiny nose,
Was as red as a rose

It stared at us with its black eyes,
Which looked as cool as ice
Then it looked at me and with one huge jump,
On my hands it landed with a bump

It was so small,
It loved to play with my ball
Then I went in and got some milk,
And a small shirt made of silk

Soon we became best friends,
And this is how my poem ends.

World War with Magic

Long Ago there was only the Moon with its Moon landers and the Sun with Its
Sun landers.
Though they were far from each other they always used to fight with magic
spells. They would do Alate and Ascend are, they will blast into the air and

then they steer the way into their enemies.

Ram and the Monster

Once upon a time there lived a person named Ram. He was very disciplined. He
had many weapons like sword, bow and arrow and had magical powers.
One day when he was sleeping, he heard a tumbling sound. Ram moved out and
checked from where the sound has come? To his surprise he saw a monster.
The Monster was creating havoc throwing rocks on people around
along with Ram. He decided to shoot the monster with bow & arrow
A great war happened between Ram and Monster for 18 days where the
monster loses the war to Ram and surrendered to him. Ram with a polite voice
told the monster to have a good behaviour and do good to all the people he
comes across.

My Best Summer Vacation

After my exams I went to my Grand Parents house which is my native Kodad.
I had lot of fun time with my grand Parents and enjoyed each moment I spent
there. The other day I went to visit my sisters place where I met few of her
friends and played along with them. I relished the mangoes that we plucked

from the backyard tree. I always wait for the summer holiday vacation to have

A Brave Dog

Once there was a dog name Max. He always shares his food to other dogs. One
day he was going back to his kennel. He saw a man hitting his friend Rocky. He
went there and told the man not to hit Rocky. The man was laughing on Max.
Than he barked loudly. The man was scared from him. He ran fast and went
back to his home. The dog saves his friend from the man.

Losing Their Homes-Flamingo

During this Sankranti holidays, I went to Pune with my parents for a short
vacation. One of the weekends, we visited a bird sanctuary nearby –
“Bhigwan Bird Sanctuary”. Bhigwan is a small town with a huge and beautiful
lake covering about 150 km. This lake is the home for many beautiful birds of
various species. The bird guide told us that during winter season, many birds
migrate from different parts of the country and world to this lake. We spotted
Seagulls, Spoonbills, Gees, Ducks and the most special – Flamingos.
Flamingos migrate from Siberia travelling a distance of about 500 km to this
lake every year. Marvellous, isn’t it? At times, 1000-1200 Flamingos could be
seen is what the guide told us. This number has reduced to a few hundred in the
recent years! The recent changes in the climate, low rainfall, water pollution,
deforestation is some of the major reasons which are keeping the birds away.
This visit to the lake was a lesson learnt for me that we should take care of our
natural resources so that these beautiful birds do not lose their
homes.

My Favourite Sparkling Saturday

My Favourite Sparkling Saturday’s topic is ‘Incredible India’. Before that
Saturday ma’am asked us to dress up in traditional attire of the state. I wanted
to represent and share a few facts. I wanted to talk about Andhra Pradesh, so I
dressed up in the state’s traditional dress and shared a few facts. I enjoyed
listening to all the students’ lines about their states. I also liked their dresses
they wore, we also played games.

My Beautiful World

One day, a boy was waiting for his plants in the garden. He wore a funny cap
with a brown and green scarf polka dot. He had brown hair with a funny
hairstyle the boy was joyful in the garden. The pink and red blossom and the
sunflowers looked beautiful in the garden. The garden also had a short tree and
many tall bushes. The greenery-filled the garden and his heart. The fence
surrounded his garden.
