• Groundbreaking began in December of 2000.

• Construction was completed in the summer of 2001.

• The award winning building plan was the
first of it’s kind to be built in the area.

• The entire complex is 146,958 square feet.

• There are four, 25,000 square foot activity
arenas, two of them have ice.

• The massive electronic sign board, was a first for the area.

• The Tax Increment Finance Authority and Taylor Building
Authority funded bonds to pay for the project. No tax increase
was needed to fund the Sportsplex.

• The $18.5 million state-of-the-art facility features two NHL-size
ice arenas, a soccer arena and a multi-purpose sports arena.

• At the time of construction, TSX was the only site to offer indoor
recreational soccer in Wayne County.

• Taylor Sportsplex was designed to incorporate several energy
conservation features.

TSX has a large capacity emergency generator
which helps reduce overall electrical cost. The
building can serve as disaster shelter, emergency
warming or cooling center.

►►This guarantees that those renting the facility will
have uninterrupted service even in the event of a
power outage.
