Born in Caracas, 1995. 5
Grew up in Canary islands with her Mum, Dad, two dogs and one parrot. Graduate
at the Technical High School of La Salle San Ildefonso where she opened a Youtube
Channel. After graduation she went to discover the world with a volunteer project in
education at Cameroon. Then she moved to Barcelona to study Product Design in IED.

Teaching “sabor”

-

Gui is a percussion instrument that teaches
rhythm at an early age. By using the double
sticks you can achieve different tones and
sounds characteristic of Latin music.

Redesigning the Güiro

-

The Güiro is a typical Latin American instrument which is made of a
dry pumpkin. Kids find it difficult to hold the massive instrument while
playing music at the same time. For this project I wanted to go back to
my percussionist roots and decided to create a modern, smaller, simpler
and more effective replica of a Güiro, so kids could play with a light
instrument whithout loosing the folklore sound.

Controlling the tone

-

Playing the güiro usually requires
both long and short sounds, made
by scraping a stick up and down
in long or short strokes. Thanks
to Güi’s dual sticks you can scrape
with one stick while controlling
the tone with the other stick.

Playing at loud

-
Güi is designed to fit the
ergonomics of a child from 3
to 12 year old. However, all the
family can join the salsa and

play the instrument.

Stick to sticks

-
Güi has two compartments
to store the sticks. Once you
have finished playing, the sticks
merge with the body of the
main piece. Now you will never
lose the sticks again.

Born in the mountains

-

Massís is a condiment set inspired by the moun-
tains of Montserrat. Each piece refers to one
particular rock formation from the massif;
“Momia, Momieta, Elefant y Trumfa”

The unity of a nation

-

The main characteristic of Monsterrat is its mystical nature and the spiri-
tual impact that produces in people. Is part of catalan identity, is magical
and religious, it is a sanctuary condition of a place loaded with power.
This is his greatness and his mystery. From the old times until our days.

Hugging mountains

-

The pieces form a hug which
represents the feeling of Catalan
unity. The condiments are embrac-
ing and melting into a single being
of unity, but at the same time they
could function individually.

Soft fit

-
The shapes and curves of each
piece are designed to ergonomically
fit the user’s hand, regardless of
whether it is left or right handed.

Sediments and ceramics

-
The sedimentary rocks typical of
montserrat arose from the fluvial
alluvium deposited in the seabed.
Clay and stone that join, like the

ceramics, to create Massís.



Nautiluz 33

Pendant lamp

Lighting from the deep sea.

Inspired in the marine mollusc, Nautiluz is
a modular light made out of polypropylene
sheets. Depending on the number of used

pieces, the lamp takes different shapes.

Emerges to the surface

-

The shell of the animal Nautilus is characterized by its beautiful curves
which come from the logarithmic spiral. In this case this repetitive com-
bination of self-similarity curves were used as an inspiration for a module
which could reproduce the “miraculous spiral”. Nautiluz lamp emerges
from the deepness of the sea bringing light and beauty to the surface.
Letting humans discover the wisdom of profundity.

A slim ride

Slimscoo is a scooter that folds easily and lets
citizens move lightly exchanging between the most

convenient transport method for their destiny.

Moving in the city Jungle

-

Urban nomads tend to change from different transport methods; metro,
bike, bus, train, motorbike...etc. On our research we found out that in the
middle of this chaotic way of moving around Barcelona, some people
carried light vehicles to move quicker between small distances. They used
this various vehicles as a boost and replacement of walking in the city.
