We enjoy playing ball. We play ball games by running, jumping
and catching balls. Volleyball, football, basketball, etc. are some ball
games.
We need different skills like rolling, dribbling, throwing, catching,
passing, etc. to play volleyball, football and basketball.
ACTIVITY 1
Dribbling a ball
The process of moving the ball along with several short kicks, hits
or bounces is called dribbling.
We can control the ball with this skill. Let’s practise dribbling
making a line of friends.

We enjoy throwing the ball with a single or both hands. We pass
the ball by throwing it to our friends. Let’s make a circle and start

Catching a ball
We catch the ball when our friends pass it to us. We pass and catch
the volleyball, football and basketball. We enjoy while playing it.
Hints for some games
a) Stand in a queue. Dribble a ball five times with a single or
both hands and then run and take position in the same place.
b) Stand in a queue. Dribble a ball with feet and take position in
the same place. Give everyone a chance.
Teaching Instructions
Warm up children before playing games.
Manage ground and materials as the game requires.
Engage all children in the games.
Instruct children clearly on the rules of the games.
