Cat and Rat
This game is played making a circle by holding hands with friends.
One of us becomes a cat and another a rat. The rat is kept in and the
cat out of the circle. The cat chases the rat with the sound ‘Miaow’
and tries to catch the rat which runs with the sound ‘Chi-chi’. When
the cat catches the rat, the next pair continues the game.

We play hot ball in a group. First, we make a circle. We keep one of

Objectives
After completing the study of this unit, students will be able to:
play different types of local games.
We play local games in our locality following our own rules. The
local games such as Gatta, Chungi, Dandibiyo, Hitting at Lakku,
etc. are popular in our locality.
Gatta Game
Gatta game is more popular among the girls. We play and enjoy
with gatta in our locality. Two to four players can play together. In
this game, we play with five small stone pebbles picking up and
keeping them on the ground.
We four are very Komal and Shova
close friends. We are sisters. They are
enjoy playing gatta.

Chungi Game
Chungi is an object made of rubber bands. We play this game with
feet by kicking the chungi in air.

Hitting at Lakku
We play this game making two groups. We hit a lakku of stones
with a small ball.

Dandibiyo
Dandibiyo is an old game of Nepal. We play this game with two
sticks, the dandi, a long stick, and the biyo, a short stick with
pointed ends.

General Rules of Dandibiyo
If the thrown biyo is caught by the opponent, no point is
awarded but if not, the biyo should be thrown back to the
groove.
If the dandi is hit by the biyo, the opponent gets a chance to
play.
If the dandi is not hit, the counting starts.
The player or team which scores more points within a fixed
time is declared the winner.
