Communications Week
“Race Peace” was presented
by members of Mondo Bizarro
and M.U.G.A.B.E.E., two
community arts organizations
that used “an innovative blend
of multi-disciplinary performance
techniques and town-hall style
meetings” to address racial
sterotypes.
Both of these activities were
part of Communications Week
and highlighted the work of the
Communication Studies program.
Tiara Barthe presented a
monologue on communications.
She performed “The Different
Shades of Brown,” a performance
that was constructed to satisfy
an assignment in Communication
Studies 2400: The Theatre. The
objective of her project was to
use performance as a tool to
deconstruct the African American
identity.
