ANNUAL REPORT 2022, FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES, TU 221 Academic The master program in forensic sciences has been established since 2015 with the mission to produce forensic scientists who are equipped with professional skills and ethics to support the use of forensic science in juridical procedures. The program covers all essential aspects in forensic sciences such as evidence analyses, laboratory practice, forensic medicine and fundamental law. The courses are taught by various qualified instructors, and experienced professionals in the field. For example, law is taught by experts from faculty of law, Thammasat university, and criminalistics is led by experienced experts from professional institutes. As a part of the curriculum, our students have valuable chances to visit relevant organizations such as Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS), Office of Police Forensic Science and Institute of Forensic Medicine. On these occasions, the students will have a clear picture how forensic scientists work in a real environment. To enhance students’ learning experiences, the program has provided specialized laboratories in forensic science and a mock-up house for crime scene investigation. Moreover, the university has signed memorandum of understandings (MOU) with Office of Police Forensic Science and CIFS for exchanging knowledge and collaboration. Through this academic agreement, several students have been facilitated to conduct their thesis which contribute to an advance in forensic investigation. Students who finished bachelor’s degree in any fields including sciences, law, social sciences, and humanities are eligible to apply to the program. Over half a decade, the program has constantly gained good attention, and around fifteen students had been enrolled to the program each year.
