ANNUAL REPORT 2022, FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES, TU 101 3) Wai Kru Ceremony of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and Thammasat University Academic Year 2022 (Activity to promote Thai arts and culture) On 6 October 2022, the student committee held a ceremony to pay respect to the teachers of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Academic Year 2022. Associate Professor Dr. Paiwan Satthanon, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences gave a sermon to the students and awarded scholarships to 4 students who received the scholarship “Professor (Special) Major General Dr. Aoithip Na Thalang Scholarships” (Director of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences). 102 AHS TU On 15 September 2022, Associate Professor Gasinee Witoonchart, Rector of Thammasat University had the honor to take a commemorative photo with the staff of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, led by Associate Professor Dr. Plaiwan Satthanon, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, at the Wai Kru ceremony, Thammasat University for the academic year 2022 with a warm atmosphere between teachers and students. It is gratifying that this year, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences was awarded the “Second Runner Up” award from the Phan Wai Kru Contest for the academic year 2022. Students of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences also received awards for their academic excellence from the university: 1) Good Achievement Award, academic year 2021 (9 persons) and 2) Award for students with good behavior, academic year 2022 (1 person). ANNUAL REPORT 2022, FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES, TU 103 4) TU Freshy Games 2021 and 2022 The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University is outstanding and has a reputation for sports, having won the Football Championship and the most medals in total award, together with The School of Global studies and The Faculty of Political Science with a total of 31 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 5 Bronze Medal at TU Freshy Games 2021. Moreover, the Faculty of Allied Sciences succeeded again in the TU Freshy Games 2022 where our faculty together with the Faculty of Sociology and Anthropology and the Faculty of Medicine won the football championship. 5) The Project of Student Election Together with the Student Affairs Division of Thammasat University, the election was organized on 21 April 2022 for the student committee of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and Thammasat University Student Union. The election results showed that the “AHS NEXT GEN Party” was voted for approval by students, so the part was appointed to serve as student committee members of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences for the academic year of 2022. 104 AHS TU 6) Seminar project for student potential development On 4 May 2022, there was a training event on the topic “Recreational activities for building relationships and leadership” by Ajarn Jakkrapan Chupthaisong (guest speaker). On 29 - 30 May 2022, the activity was held in Chanthaburi Province. This project is very important in enhancing the performance of student leaders and is considered a continuation project after the new student committee has been authorized. ANNUAL REPORT 2022, FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES, TU 105 7) Project to promote sports skills for students On May 25 - 26, 2022, the Student Affairs and Alumni Relations Department together with the Student Committee, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Organized a football competition “AHS TU Championship 2022” between 4-5 June 2022 in order to build good relationships between students and staff. 106 AHS TU 8) Health Leadership Camp (Under the Health Zone Junior Project) On 19-20 November 2022, the Student Affairs Department organized a “Health Leadership Camp” to build students to be a leader in health “Allied health sciences students for good health and well-being” under the Health Zone Junior project at Eco Hotel, Thammasat University, Pattaya Center. This camp also focused on the awareness of the environment and nature conservation which leads to a long-lasting society and it is one of the main goals of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing). ANNUAL REPORT 2022, FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES, TU 113 The Healthcare Service Center (HSC) was established in 2014 to provide a high quality of healthcare service and facilitate provision as a one-stop service. The center consists of three main sections including the Medical Technology Research and Service unit comprising X-ray imaging center of Radiological Technology department, Physical Therapy and Hydrotherapy unit, and Sports Science and Sports Rehabilitation unit. In 2022, although the income from COVID-19 testing is gradually decreasing, the HSC generated a total operating income of 15,478,433 baht which mainly from a routine services and mobile health check-up. 114 AHS TU In fiscal year 2022, the Medical Technology Research and Service Unit provides a variety of health check-up programs, such as blood testing and body fluid analysis, tumor marker and infectious disease detection, the seasonal flu vaccination, a mobile one-stop annual check-up service and health counseling and chest X-ray by the Department of Radiological Technology, which has been operated since August 2022. During the year of COVID-19 pandemic, real-time RT-PCR and Antigen Test Kit for detection of SARS-CoV-2, as well as immunity testing after vaccination were commenced for public service. To serve a high quality of care at an international standard, the Healthcare Service Center has been accredited complying with ISO 15189: 2012 and ISO 15190: 2003 for quality and competency assurances from 2022 to 2025, as well as the excellent of Laboratory Proficiency Testing for the Detection of SARS-CoV-2 by real-time RT-PCR, issued by Department of Medical Sciences, Mistry of Public Health, Thailand and WHO. The customers were very satisfied with our services in terms of the service process, service mind, and service, with a score of 89.3%. The unit also served as a professional learning center for Medical Technology student and other interested people, such as giving a special workshop for collecting nasopharyngeal swab sample and molecular testing for COVID-19. For society contribution, the center provides a variety of health services for people, with the aim to provide health promotion and disease prevention to community. ANNUAL REPORT 2022, FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES, TU 119 In 2022, the Physical Therapy and Hydrotherapy Unit provided physical therapy rehabilitation and hydrotherapy for 3,560 clients in five different types of conditions, including musculoskeletal problems, neurological disorders, sports, children with physical disabilities, and aging. Service income totaled 2.71 million THB which increased 47 percent over the last year. Our unit conducted 6 short courses for physical therapists which were: 1. Yoga therapy for office syndrome, on 9 January 2022. 2. Physical therapy management for running injury, on 12 – 26 February 2022. 3. Physical therapy management for chronic ankle instability, on 12 – 19 March 2022. 4. Yoga for aging and pregnancy, on 7 May 2022. 5. Pilates for physical therapy (postural correction and running injury), on 21 – 22 May 2022 6. Standard assessment tool for stroke, on 25 June 2022. There were 686 participants including clinical physical therapists and academic physical therapists. In addition, our unit have provided health education for community including health promotion and prevention. Our unit was assessed for Quality Assurance by Thai Physical Therapy Council in November 2022. Medical laboratory accreditation program based on ISO 15189: 2012 and ISO 15190: 2003. The Sport Science Fitness Center is managed by the Department of Sport Science and Sport Development, Faculty of Allied Health Science, Thammasat University. The objectives of the Fitness Center are to provide academic services to society and conduct researches. From 1 October 2022, the Fitness Center has re-opened for services during after hours, after being temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 Pandemics. The Fitness Center is safely operated according to the health measurement to prevent the spread of infections. Moreover, the following services are also provided by the Fitness Center: Physical Assessment A physical assessment was provided to athletes of Thammasat University during 5-9 September 2022, in preparation for the University Games of Thailand. More than 200 athletes have received the physical assessment before participating in the qualification round. Off-campus seminar The Sport Science Fitness Center conducted a health knowledge course and provided a physical assessment service to employees at Toshiba Carrier Thailand Co,Ltd., as a part of its No Smoking Project. Two batches of participants have successfully passed the course, total 80 participants. Exercise For Kids Project Exercise For Kids Project was conducted for kids from age of 4-8, to develop their physical fitness and well-being. Also, with good exercise, kids will be able to maintain their emotional well-being, which will help develop their intelligences as well. The Sport Science Fitness Center is determined to provide the society with both physical and emotional well-being, same as the determination of the Faculty of Allied Health Science, Thammasat University. ANNUAL REPORT 2022, FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES, TU 127 Academic The Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. The program is committed to produce highly qualified professionals through innovative coursework, as well as clinical and research practices. The program supports intellectual development of graduates as follows; (1) providing excellence in skills and competencies on the national level, (2) promoting learner-centered approaches to Department of Medical Technology aimed at the achievement of university’s approach to providing high-quality graduates, innovative research achievement, and community service, as follows: Medical Technology Annual Report 2022 support students in developing their self-directed learning skills in creative and innovative ways. All educational activities also aim to stimulate their social and ethical responsibilities. In 2022, 82% of graduates were successful to get the Medical Technologist Licensure given by the Board of Medical Technology Council. The graduates can work as a medical technologist in a hospital or clinical laboratories, a scientist or assistant researcher in the laboratories or research unit as well as sales representative and entrepreneur, while others can go to graduate or professional schools.

On 20 August 2022, Intensive course that are practiced in development of laboratory examination skills in parasitology, clinical hematology and clinical microscopy for 3rd year and 4th year medical technology students to gain skills and confidence in performing more medical techniques.
