MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY Chronicle eginning the second half of the Rotaract Year, we at RACUOK had a steady rhythm ongoing in terms of the projects we did and the engagement of our members. This quarter saw the completion of five extremely impactful projects in terms of Club Service, Community Service, Sports and Recreational Activities and International Service. One of the highlights of the quarter was the beginning of the “Rotatomorrow 3.0”, one of the signature projects of the club, focused on membership development and retention. Our community impact in this quarter extended not only to all corners of the country, but also to the international community. We were able to spread happiness, love and bring smiles to the faces of the people who benefited from our initiatives. The quarter also saw some of our General Members stepping up to take leadership positions of the club, being involved in the club’s decision-making process as Team Leaders. B All in all, looking back at the third quarter of RACUOK, we have begun to “Innovate” through the projects we did and the ideas we brought forward into the movement, to “Persist” in all our endeavors, to see our projects gain their fullest potential and never backing down in the face of challenges, and to “Thrive”, as we have now started to realize the goals we had set for the club at the beginning of the year. MESSAGE FROM THE CO-EDITOR Chronicle The Rotaract can be introduced as a place to serve the humanity, a platform to enhance one’s personality and an arena to make long-lasting friendships. Joining the Rotaract was indeed a watershed in my life and my Rotaract journey so far established in me what was hidden inside myself. The past three months have indeed been a thrill, watching all the avenues of RACUOK work wonders and achieve the unachievable was nothing short of exhilarating. This prominent initial period as a co-editor has been nothing but exciting and fruitful; there’s no such joy as reading the amazing articles penned by our fellow Rotaractors, and diving into their creative worlds. Being an editor also has its challenges but its noteworthy to state that they are easily outweighed by teamwork and the joy of writing. This quarterly period in Rotaract has undoubtedly stained my mind with wonderful memories and events. “Chronicle” would have stayed a name if not a word, if it’s not for our team Editorial Avenue. Their contribution in presenting this remarkable journey to you is as always commendable. I consider their enthusiastic and creative engagement to be the cause to distinguish the Editorial Avenue from the others. Compiling this newsletter with them had a stunning impact on me. I am excited to unveil our first quarterly journey for the RI year 2022-23 to you and hereby I wish you for a comfortable read. I look forward to acquiring and cherishing some more memories in the months to come. Viva la Rotaract!!! Rtr. Dinithi Fernando Co-Editor RI Year 2022-23 E d i t i o n F o u r

MESSAGE FROM THE CO-EDITOR Chronicle Great establishments always start off with fresh beginnings. The Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya is back to shine with the dawn of another phenomenal year. It’s truly an honour for me to be amongst the Board of Directors of RACUOK for the term 2022-23. It was never felt the saying “Time flies” until I realized we have passed a whole three months of journey as a club this year. Yet, as an editor this remarkable period has been an exquisite point in my life with a lot of learning and growing along with the pen. RACUOK has achieved many milestones as a club throughout the past years. Marking its 13th year of excellence in serving the community, this year too RACUOK cherishes a significant number of initiatives. Merely scripting down and confining what happened so far in the first quarter to a set of papers, wouldn’t do justice to the club and its activities. Yet, it should be mentioned that our team Editorial Avenue has attempted their best to make sure our audience recapture every momentous step of the club in the magazine. I’m sincerely obliged to our Chronicle team, from our Senior Editor to all the delegates of the Editorial Avenue and the Digital Media Avenue who were always behind the curtains till the last moment of publishing this first quarterly newsletter for the RI year 2022-23. I am more than grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this magazine myself. Thrilled to unveil, I invite all the willing souls out there to have a glimpse on “Chronicle”, RACUOK’s initial quarterly journey proudly presented by the Editorial Avenue of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya! Here I conclude being truly excited to anticipating what RACUOK brings us through the next unique quarters too. Have a sensational read! Rtr. Another heartwarming endeavor undertaken by CR Avenue, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya and the Rotaract Club of Chunnakm, was the Warnayalam project. This joint effort involved organizing art competitions in institutions that catered to blind and deaf children across three districts, namely Colombo, Jaffna, and Kandy. Upon the conclusion of the competition, a grand art exhibition was hosted at the Art Gallery of the University of Kelaniya on May 27th and 28th. The exhibition showcased the inspiring drawings created by the participants from the three districts, creating a platform to appreciate their talents and raise awareness about the challenges faced by these special children.
