DE LA REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA

Para facilitar un mejor entendimiento del sector artesanal dominicano, se incluye en esta sección una
narración de las seis zonas de producción del país, indicando los principales productos, recursos naturales y
culturales, así como facilidades de mercado que disponen las provincias que conforman las mismas.

Zona I - Santo Domingo y sus tres Municipios (Norte, Este y Oeste),

IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

To promote a better understanding of the artisan sector of the country, this section gives a description of
the six production zones of the country and indicates their principal products, cultural and natural resources, as
well as the marketing facilities available in the provinces making up same.

Zone I - Santo Domingo and its three Municipalities (North, East and West), Monte

En esta provincia, el Despacho de la Primera Dama
de la República auspicia los talleres de producción de la
Asociación de Joyeros Artesanos y Collaleros del Cedro
de Miches, Inc. (ASOALCOMINIS), iniciativa que surge
del Programa Progresando, orientado al desarrollo social
sostenible.

ladas a la competitividad, la banca y el microcrédito y la
sostenibilidad turística, como fue la obtención de patroci-
nios recibidos del Consejo Nacional de Competitividad, la
Fundación Banco ADEMI y del Consorcio Dominicano de
Competitividad Turística, que es asistido por la Agencia de
Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional-USAID.
