Sharfman family:

I came to Miami in September of 2001. I, to this day, don’t know
why Rebbi accepted me. From the moment I walked into

Yeshiva and got the first shalom from Rebbi, it was all good.
Rebbi spent hours with me on a weekly basis both in learning
and in just shmoozing together. This lasted not just for the 5
plus years I learned in the Yeshiva. I remember coming for the
dinner where Rebbi and the Rebbetzin were being honored and
Rebbi sat down with me for a nice amount of time discussing a
difficult dating situation I was in. Rebbi helped mold me into a

confident person who can accomplish even when
things become difficult.

I am forever indebted to the whole family for this. I never felt
that there was a moment where I couldn't just come over to the

house (as I often did), I always felt welcomed.
There hasn’t been a day where I didn’t think of Rebbi.

We stand tonight in admiration and praise of our incredible mother,

Mommy

as we have learned to do from Abba zt’l
who was always so effusive in his praise for you.

‫רבות בנות עשו חיל ואת עלית על כלנה‬

Mommy, you have always been the most incredible mother and wife.
Everything that Abba accomplished in his life, you were a devoted partner.
You and Abba were an inseparable team. You did all that you could to allow
Abba to invest as much energy into the yeshiva and talmidim, as possible.

Hosting beautiful Shabbos and Yom Tov seudos, elaborate chagigas and
onegs, and baking for bochurim at the end of each fast; you taught us the
meaning of chashivus HaTorah and mesiras nefesh. Mommy, you gave up of
your time to allow Abba to prepare for and give shiurim in the community,
always there to support, always there to encourage. Mommy, you were the

one that carried Abba through the past 10 years, always by his side,
allowing nothing to get in the way. All while being there for each and
every one of us. Providing for our family on so many levels, teaching us the
meaning of true chessed. Despite this new and difficult situation that we
find ourselves in, you continue to carry on in your role as the mother and
leader of our family. Mommy, the gevurah that you display each day, serves
as a chizuk to all of us. We hope that we continue to bring you and Abba zt’l
nachas, as we try to emulate all that you have taught us. No words can
express our love for you and appreciation for all that you do for us.

Abba, How we wish you were here with us tonight in person to hear the
beautiful words spoken in your honor. As the months go by, we constantly
reflect upon your incredible gadlus, theTorahdig life that you led, and the
beautiful home you built. Abba, you were the quintessential Mashgiach and
Maggid Shiur. Your devotion to the yeshiva and talmidim was incredible.
You were always available for the talmidim with your signature warmth and

approachability. No task was too mundane for you in ensuring all their
needs were met, both b’ruchniyus and b’gashmiyus. At the very end, when
you were in pain, you didn’t allow that to stop you from fulfilling your role

as their Rebbe. We are sure that you continue to look out for their
well-being, by being a meiletz yosher for all of them.

Abba, in addition to your commitment to the yeshiva, you played a
tremendous role in the community. Many people turned to you for
hadracha in various areas. You were the address for halachic shailos, and
you gave chizuk to so many People. The shiurim you gave throughout South
Florida were a testament to your broad grasp of Torah and Halacha.
Abba, you were our loving father. You were the crown of our family,
guiding us and raising us with your characteristic warmth and humor. You
instilled within each of us a strong identity and sense of pride. Whether we
were on a family trip or it was just a typical day, we always had a great time

with you. We will cherish these happy memories forever.
Together, you and Mommy built a bayis ne’eman. You taught us what it
means to work as a team, what true shalom bayis is. You built a home on the
foundation of Torah and simcha shel mitzvah. You taught us the meaning of
always working to fulfill ratzon Hashem, no matter the circumstances. We
have all learned from you what it means to be a baal bitachon. We derive

great strength from this, it is the ultimate chizuk.
Abba, no words can express our love for you, and appreciation for all that

you did for us.

Shifra tb"l,

True friends are hard to come by and keep as years go on and
life gets busier and busier. Neighbors come and go and

sometimes stay near each other but relationships change over
time. Baruch Hashem our close friendship remained a constant

even with the passing of years and the growth kn"h of our
respective families. Duvie was a unique individual in that his

responsibilities in the Yeshiva never took away from the
closeness we shared as friends and neighbors. His divrei Torah

and sharp sense of humor, his humility and his keenness,
benefitted us all tremendously. Having shared many a Shabbos
and Yom Tov meal in each other’s homes and each of us having
played "second parents" to our children for the past 20+ years,

his absence is felt on a consistent basis.
We miss Duvie and will continue to miss him always. May
Hashem give our dear friend Shifra and her wonderful children
the koiach to continue on the path she and her husband a"h
forged together, with Yiddishkeit, Yiras Shamayim, loyalty, and

integrity always at the forefront of every decision.

As I write my ad it is hard for me not to shed a tear or two or
three. How do I express all the feelings I have for this family and

the zechus of having Jeanette ob”m as my friend, my sister.
From the time your children attended Toras Emes to the time
we started working together, I was blessed with her goodness,
her genuine advice, all of the laughing fits we had and some of
the hardships that we shared. Being embraced by their family as
one of their own, I share a special bond with each of the Levine
children, Josh, Marc, Shira and Reena. They, and their spouses

are an important part of my extended family. Norman has
always been my close friend and confidant. He welcomed me
into his family’s home every Shabbos even though he wasn’t
always there. And now the next generation calls me Savta Sara. I
get to see them every day in school as they grow each year to

levels of excellence in learning and maturity. They are a
constant reminder of how our friendship began and with the
help of Hakadosh Baruch Hu will continue to flourish ad meah

v’esrim shana.

Just one more thought. Levines, I am so proud and blessed
to be part of your family.

What a special zechus for me and my nieces' families in
Minneapolis to have you and your dear husband come visit us in
our Succah. I have such a special memory of that time when you
were staying with your daughter, Bracha's family. At that time,
Rabbi Sharfman proceeded to make a L'chaim for all of us, I will

truly savor that memorable moment forever. Shifra, I feel
blessed to be so part of your family and enjoy

watching your children grow and thrive in our beautiful Yeshiva.

minds and hearts as a role model for what a true talmid chacham
