RATIONAL
Our syllabus July 2012 was published pursuant to the requirements of the Malaysian
Qualifications Agency (MQA). Since then, in response to MQA audit reports, our
syllabus has been revised due to the need of revision of curriculum and assessment
development policies. As our continuous quality improvement (CQI) of the curriculum
and syllabus, we now publish the third edition of the syllabus. We focus in improving
the writing of Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) and refining the programme
structure as well as updating the mapping table based on the new Programme
Education Objective (PEO) and Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO).

NOTES
DIRECTOR GENERAL OF MARA
“ In this transformation era, MARA’s comprehensive Technical And Vocational
Education (TVET) will not only produce students who are knowledgeable and skillful,
but also students who have developed values and characters that reflects their
personal excellence. The most important value that should be inculcated in the
students is entrepreneurial values such as innovativeness, creativity, pro-active,
dynamic and risk takers. These values will definitely differentiate MARA’s Technical
and Vocational Education (TVET) with other institutions”.
DATUK IBRAHIM BIN AHMAD
Director General of MARA
NOTES
DEPUTY OF DIRECTOR GENERAL (EDUCATION) MARA
“ MARA Technical and Vocational Education comprehensive policy
contains strategies that are effective and suitable with KKTM and IKM roles as
mediator to fulfill the community and industrial needs. Thus, the development of a
quality curriculum and its implementation is pivotal in providing highly skilled
workforce capable of fulfilling the market needs”.

NOTES
DIRECTOR OF BAHAGIAN KEMAHIRAN DAN TEKNIKALMARA
In the name of Allah S.W.T., the Most Gracious and Most Compassionate. All
praises to the Al-Mighty Allah S.W.T, The Merciful and Beneficent for giving us the
strength, blessing and guidance to publish the current MARA Technical and
Vocational Education syllabus since its implementation in July 2012.
The content of this syllabus has been screened, reviewed and refined through three
(3) MARA committees that are MARA Academic Advisory Committee (JKPAM),
MARA Technical Committee (M-TEC) and the Bahagian Kemahiran dan Teknikal
MARA Technical Steering Committee to guarantee the quality of an effective delivery
systems for all MARA students.
MARA expects its graduates to achieve the Engineering Technology standard
through our latest curriculum and syllabus implementation. Our graduates are also
equipped with added values such as soft-skills that are implemented in this new
curriculum and syllabus. With this implementation, we hope it will become our own
identity for all MARA Technical And Vocational Education (TVET) programs.
I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to the hardworking, diligent and
dedicated MARA staff, such as KKTM and IKM lecturers, MARA Academic Advisory
Committee (JKPAM), MARA Technical Committee (M-TEC) and the Bahagian
