On the fateful day of 04 Sep 1972, 31 Fd Coy under comd Maj B B Dhodi was moving alongwith the convoy
from Pallawalan to Poonch. The coy was carrying lot of explosives and mines for operational reqmt. When
the convoy halted enroute at Lower Krishna Ghati Sector, smoke was observed from a mine laden veh.
Without wasting any time CHM Puran Singh and all OR of the Coy rushed to put off the fire but the veh

exploded and 11 OR of 31 Fd Coy were martyred.

Obituary

Lt Col BSKS Chopra left for heavenly abode on 10 Dec 16. He was a staunch Regtl offr and
had been closely associated with the Regt all through. Scholarship scheme has been instituted
and funded by Col Chopra’s donation to the Regt for tps who excel in courses and for meritorious
performance by wards of serving soldiers of the Regt. He was always concerned about the well
being of the Regt and was almost a part of every regimental gathering held at Pune. Kudos to his
die hard Regtl sprit. We do hope and pray that the departed soul rests in peace.
